I think that there should be a harsher punishment for child molestors. It wasn't until recently that child molestors can no longer be carnies. However I do not think that they should be branded for life by putting their picture on the web and all over the place viewing them as a child molestor. They should not be killed, though. I do think that they have mental problems and should go to a psycologist. I think that we should do more to bring justice to the children they molest.

I am unsure about what the punisment is for child molesters but I think that they should be locked away for a long time depending on the case. If it is that the person was willing but under the age of 18 that is different than the person not willing. The cases that involve little children, they need to be locked away or sent to death. Our children are angels and need to be treated with respect and not taken for granted.
Most child molesters are posted on the enternet. I forget the website, but you can call the police department and find out. I got the website about six years ago and found out that the apartment complex that I was living in had a child molester next door. The man was sweet and him and his wife had their grand kids with them most of the time so I am unaware of what his case was about.
Most people blame the parents and how they were raised. I do not want to be like my parents and I have changed that in how I raise my kids. You have a choice if you can figure out the problem and how to fix it. You can classify child molester with an alcoholic, or drug attic. They all are addicted to their poison, the people who live realize they have a problem and fix it, the others who do not fix their problem, hurt other people.

I feel that child molesters should automatically receive a life sentence just like a murderer. I hold them in that same category because they are killing a childs child hood. There taking a child trust and abusing it and that could cause alot of problem later on in life when they become adults. They should be branded, i think the public deserves the right if there is a ex- child molester in there area. It gives people an heads up on who is around because you know some of these guys do get out of prison and are released back into society.
Personally if my child was victimized by a child molester and nothing was done about it, i would take justice into my own hands and kill that person. I could not anyone do that to my child and live to tell about it. Watching docementaries on child molesters i think it's based on mental problems. If you are sexually aroused by touching on a underage child, something has to wrong with you mentally. I dont think we need to bring more justice to the children because that will take care of its self in prison. I heard that child molesters are targeted by gangs in prison because they are seen as the scum of the earth, so let them deal with there consequences in prison, they'll be there for a long time.

I think that there should be much stricter punishment then just throwing them in jail. I do think that they should be banned for life because if they can do it one time who's to say that they don't have the desire to do it again and again. I don't think that they should be killed but they do need to see a physiatrist weekly. For someone to molest any one there is definitely something wrong with them mental well being. Yes, I think that we should do more to bring justice to the children and the families which they have hurt for the rest of there life's!!!

Hang'em! Every last one of them should be hanged. This should be done as a punishment to ensue that they never commit the crime again and hopefully others will be less likely to do the crime. Molesting an innocent child is the worst possible crime because it brings lingering pain and suffering onto them. It can even ruin their entire life.
I also believe that the U.S. has become to tolerant of criminals. If someone either can't tell that molesting a child is wrong or disagrees and believes that they should be able to do what they want then they have no place in our society and should be hanged.

There should most definitely be a harsher punishment for child molesters. I'm not so sure that death would be the correct answer, but I do believe they should at least be locked away for the remainder of their lives. I don't believe that they should be marked for the rest of their lives, but after a certain amount of years having no involvement in any such thing, their slate should be wiped clean.I definitely believe it's a mental instability and not genetics that determine who is and who is not a child molester. Without a doubt, the children that are being molested, we need to bring more justice to.

I hate the thought of these people. They are trash and garbage, not worth anything to the world. I think that they should get into prison and be raped without mercy. It may seem a little rough, but honestly it seems like the best way to handle it. I dunno, thinking about what I just said maybe that is a little harsh. No, it's fine that's what needs to happen. These people should never be allowed to see the light of day again. I have a little brother, and I hate the idea that there are so many sex offenders out there.

Child molesters should be given a much harsher punishment. They definitely need to be branded and have their pictures posted on the internet. People who live in that area and potential employers have the right to know. They shouldn't be killed and they don't have mental problems. They just have a hard time controlling actions that are seen as inappropriate. We definitely need to ensure we are bringing justice to the children.

I guess I don't know what the punishment is for child molesters, but since 8 of them were arrested this last Halloween for trying to get trick-or-treaters to come to their houses, I think the punishements should be more harsh then they are. I don't think they should be killed, but I wouldn't be opposed to casteration. I actually think there is a sight where you can go and look up where they live, but I don't think it has pictures. I think they should add pictures. They have to have some kind of mental problem, but I don't think it has anything to do with genetics. I believe more should be done to punish the child molester, but I'm not sure how we could better help the children involved.
First off, very touchy subject. I feel that child molestors, like any lawbreaker, should be punished. As for the branded for life? Yes they should. They made a mistake, and evrn if they are "better" now, they still did the crime and they must do the time. There is a "accused" child molestor next door to me. He says that he doesn't like being trcked the way is, but he understands that it protects children. As long as no one is accused falsely then it would be alright. But this isn't a perfect world and mistakes are made. Judgements are clouded, and people get hurt. How would we bring justice to the children they molest? We already throw them in jail, brand them for life and follow them out of the corner of our eyes. What more could we do save killing them. And that is NOT a option.

i think that there should be a more severe punishment for child molesters, and i think that making it aware to everyone would be a good starting step. If everyone knew that the person was a child molester, then it would lessen the chances that he would do it again. i dont think that they should be killed, but i do think that they should be branded for life, so they have to live with what they did everyday. Child molesters have mental issues, genetics doesnt have a effect, thats just an excuse for them to make up so people dont feel as mad about it, its just givin them an excuse. More should be done for the children that are affected by these horrible people, prosecuting the molester isnt enough for these kids to know that they are going to be ok, they are going to need lots of help so that they dont grow up in a different mind set.

I recently read that a convicted child molester was sentenced to 800 yes, 800 year in prison for sexually assaulting three boys in San Jose, California. While reading this I thought that it was kind of redicilous, but then i realized that it may just be the perfect sentence. I mean it is completely wrong morally and ethically to sexually abuse a child and for him to get such a long sentence just proves that the government is really cracking down on child molesters. I think that many of the child molesters problems may be mental. And also have read on the web that people who were molested as children are more likely to become molesters themselves.

Should there be harsher punishments for child molesters? I'd have to evaluate on a case-by-case basis. I'd agree with branding some of them. I'd agree with killing some of them. I'd agree with treating some of them in mental institutions. It seems overly simplistic to group them all together and hang them all, as one person has suggested. After all, the degree to which these men (usually) are guilty depends on the extent to which they can recognize their behavior as a crime against humanity. If they have no idea that what they're doing is wrong--of if they are truly sick or disturbed to the point that they can't stop themselves--then they are NOT guilty of a crime--and they need to be secured somewhere not as a punishment but as a safety precaution, and possibly as a candidate for rehabilitation, depending on how sick they are.
Most molestors are made, not born. They have been formed by their environment in a way you or I might have been if placed in their situation. So I can't see punishing them all equally. That's crazy.

I don't know what the punishment is. I don't think that they should be branded for the rest of their life if it was a one time offence. However, if it's a repetitive crime, they should. Keeping parents informed is a precaution against these crimes. I think that mollesters should be put in jail without bail or "good behavior." I don't think that child mollestation has anything to do with genetics. They have to have mental problems to do such a thing. I'm not sure what you can do for the victims. It seems to me, that any "bringing to justice" would be a futile effort for the child's memory. The kid is going to carry that with him until he dies. It won't help him forget. However, I think that we should try to ease as much of the victim's pain as possible.

Child molesters should definitely recieve harsh punishment, no doubt about it! They are sick and disgusting, and they have reason to be walking the streets. Everyone thinks that child molesters have mental problems or whatever, but I don't think that is any excuse to get off easy. They still committed a crime, and I think they should be punished. Child molesters are trash, and they should be locked up in a prison until they rott. I do think that if someone molested a young, innocent child, and ended up taking their life, I think the death penalty is totally fine. There is no reason for children to be unsafe because of molesters, and I think we should provide harsher punishment for this sick people.

I think that there should be harsher punishment for child molesters. Although I think we are doing a better job at making it known who these people are, I think that we should still do something to get them out of our neighborhoods and communities. It's like a rapist or any other person who commits a crime. They are in jail, not living next door to you. I don't know that jail is the perfect place for child molesters, but I do think that there is something mentally wrong with them so maybe they should be put in some kind of facility to help them. But they shouldn't be killed because I don't think they should be given the option of getting out of what they have done.

I really don't know what the punishment is for child molesters, but I'm sure it wouldn't hurt for it be a little harsher. Although, I wouldn't go as far as killing them. Molesters could do it a number of reasons. I don't think it's just because of genetics. Other things might come into play, such as, they themselves were also victims of rape.

I think that child molestors are some of the worst people out there, but not really being familiar with what their punishments are, I don't know for sure if they should be harsher or not. I do think that their pictures being put on the internet is a good idea, but I do kind of think that it is wrong. The people already went to prison and served their time, but it is like they are serving another sentence outside of prison by being branded like this. I know that some of these people have a mental problem and maybe don't know any better, but they should still serve a sentence like the others.

I really don't think that child molesters should be killed. Yeah, what they're doing is wrong and just down right disgusting but I don't think they should have to end their life over it. I feel like a lot of child molestation cases are kept hidden though and I really don't know why. I don't understand why the law would allow these cases to be kept private but a lot of them are. I think that the punishment should be more harsh, but I don't think that putting their photo up everywhere is the way to go. Because they'll be permanently posted and after they serve their time, I don't think that it's right that they're still seen in the public eye as molesters. To me, child molestation is actually along the same lines as murder, but for some reason I still feel like they shouldn't be killed. It might just be one of those where it all depends on the specific case.
