Plastic Surgery

What are your views on plastic surgery?

When do you think it's a good idea for someone to have plastic surgery?

When do you consider plastic surgery to be wrong?

Under what circumstances is it okay to get plastic surgery?

Things to think about . . .

What age is it okay to get plastic surgery?

Do you think it's okay for someone who is young and beautiful to alter themselves?

Is botox considered plastic surgery?

Is it okay for someone who was in an auto accident to receive plastic surgery?

Is plastic surgery worth the risk?

Is plastic surgery too costly?

Thank you for your opinions!

retarted!!! no age is ok to get plastic surgery, it is way to costly for all the things that can go wrong, infections, diseases, used needles and instruments. think about it...about 120 years from now when they finally find your tomb, your grave they dig you up beacause you would be so amazing in some museum...but the only thing they find is two bags filled with sillicone...no way plastic surgery is totally not right, your beautiful the way are, why change that, natural beauty is the best if you ask me.

I think I live in America where all things are possible if you have enough $. So go for it if it's going to make you happy and not hurt someone else.
Plastic surgery is wrong w/out consent, or when someone isn't mature enough to fully understand the scope of their decision.
I think botox is like....veneers, none invasive but strictly for show.
Why only ask about if it's right for someone who's beautiful to alter themselves? Like we don't value the beautiful enough.
Plastic surgery is to expensive, but we live a service oriented country so what's it matter if things are expensive, they're all meaningless.

I think plastic surgery is a waste of time and money for anyone and everyone. You are supposed to look lik ewhat you do look like. If your nose is off-centered, who cares? No one is going to judge you for having a misplaced nose. So what if your lips aren't as big as Angelina Jolie's. Does it matter than you don't have breasts like Jessica Simpson's? No, it doesn't. Plastic surgery is pointless. The only exception to this rule would be if you got in a wreck or a fire or something along those lines and plastic surgery was recommended by the doctor. If it was a life and death situation, sure. It's understandable why you would get it done. But, if it's just for the sake of "looking better" and vanity, I think it's a big waste of time and you'll probably eventually regret it. It can't be all that satisfying anyway.

I don't really have any views on plastic surgery exactly. I think that Society places far too much emphasis on external beauty, but then again, that's just how people are. I think if somebody was severly deformed, then plastic surgery would be a good route to go. It's either that and they feel better about themselves or they accept who they are and don't think about what other people think, which is nearly impossible to do. I just think plastic surgery for the sake of vanity is a bit much. Women getting their breasts done just to look sexier. I'm a guy, and to be honest, that isn't the most important thing in the world. I'd rather a girl have personality and brains rather than big hooters. I don't know though, it's a personal choice and people will do whatever they want, so it's not worth trying to argue it with them.

Why change something God gave you? It may not be techinically wrong, but why spend thousands of dollars and risk getting an infection, somthing going wrong, etc. If someone is going to have plastic surgery then they need to be old enough to see all the sides and risks of what they are doing. If one is young and beautiful why would they want to have it done? If someone was in a bad accident then I think it would be okay having surgery to reconstruct whatever was the matter, but just to do it because you can is really no reason at all. I don't consider botox as actual surgery, but it falls into the same category of cost and vanity. Yes, I can see if you really needed plastic surgery or botox done (like if you had a major defect) then that might be okay--it just all depends on your situation. But natural beauty is always best.

I think that if someone is deformed from maybe an accident or just born that way, then plastic surgery is alright. If that is what is going to make them feel more comfortable about themselves, then they should go aheadh and do it. As for people who are just fine, I really don't see any need for it. Yea, I would like to have bigger boobs when I hang out with my friends who have big boobs, but then I think about it and I would never change anything about me. Yea, my cheeks on my face are huge and people always call me chubby cheeks, but I would never change that about me. I know quite a few peeople who have gotten boob jobs or nose jobs, and I think that it's a bit ridiculous. Yes, it's their body, and they can do what they want, but I think that is just causing society to become more and more focused on apperance than personality. There are so many things that can go wrong after surgery and i know i would never want to put myself through that. I'm not going to fight with anyone about surgery, but I don't agree with it.

I think that plastic surgery is stupid unless its used to help someone that has been in an accident or had some disease that disformed their body. I think people only get plastic surgery because they are worried what other people think about them. They are more concerned about their appearance rather than their personality. I think the only time that someone should consider plastic surgery is when they have been in an accident that deformed their face or body or when a disease has altered their appearance. Plastic suregery is "abused" when people start to get monthly surgeries on themselves on places where they don't need it. I think you should be able to get plastic surgery when you are an adult at 18. Thats when you can make "adult" decisions. People should be able to do whatever they want to their body because it is their body, but some people make the mistake by getting the surgery when they don't need it. Sometimes people don't see that they are naturally beautiful and get the surgery anyway just because they are unhappy about one little thing on their body. Some of the risks I have read about tell me that plastic surgery might not be worth the risk. Nerve damage, death, and permanent scarring don't seem like something that would be worth a surgery that could make me look better, especially when I don't need it. Plastic surgery is so costly because people are willing to pay all this money so they can look better. They are ready to spend money when they know that this surgery will improve their appearance.

I think people use plastic surgery way to often because they are vain and center entirely to much focus on "beauty." It should only be used in cases of reconstructive surgery( accidents, major surgery, illness). The thing that annoys me the most is that it makes people fake. How do you really know someone is who they say they are? I think sex-changes are wrong and should not be practiced. I would have some serious issues if I found out someone I was dating had had a sex-change operation. They are hiding who they really are.

Plastic surgery--- hummm. Yeah, well it is kind of a touchy subject. I mean i would perfer to say that i have never thought about it, but really who hasn't it is everywhere. There are television shows now that are based on the practice of Plastic surgery. And the celebrities we look up to... they mostly have all had plastic surgery. I mean we all say we want to look like these people, well the only way to truly do that would be to get plastic surgery. I think that there is no real age where plastic surgery is considered okay. and someone who has absolutley nothing wrong with them but thinks they need plastic surgery just needs to see a shrink. Botox is a type of plastic surgery simply because you are altering some part of your physical image. I do not personally think that it is worth the risk that comes with trying to make yourself to look what is considered "beautiful."

I believe that it is wrong in so many ways, for one God made you this way and he does not make mistakes, so why change what could be so beautiful if you just look at it from the inside. For another one it is so detrimental to your health with potential death risks. Apparently it is the "in" thing to do if you have the money, but I strongly disagree. I work with a girl that said "I am going to go to school to be a plastic surgeon, so I can make all the ugly people in the wold look pretty."And I wonder if the majority of plastic surgeons think this way.

I am not against plastic surgery. My sister was born with bi-lateral cleft lip and palate and has been through many reconstructive and plastic surgeries. I saw her struggle through the pain of wanting to look "normal" so she wouldn't have to worry about everyone staring at her. People can be cruel even if you are the slightest bit different. I see nothing wrong with someone getting a procedure done that could enhance their life, or relieve discomfort. Most people get plastic surgery to keep up with our judgemental society. Getting a full body makeover may be taking it too far. I do not agree with parents who allow their kids to get unnecessary plastic surgery. I do not consider botox to be plastic surgery. I do believe that these procedures are outrageously expensive.

I don't have a problem with plastic surgery, but I don't understand why people want it. So many people want to be happy, and they think it comes with your appearance. It doesn't! God created you to look how you look and he knit ever part of you together. He's perfect and he loves you, so why would you want to change that? An auto accident is another issue. I think if you are in an accident or something tragic happens and all the bones in your face are crushed or something like that, of course get the surgery. But if you just want your breasts larger or your nose smaller--it's stupid. It's not going to make you happier. Beauty comes from the inside out. The world just has a hard time understanding that. It's expensive and there are so many better uses of your money if you want to spend it. Give it towards something that will make a positive difference in someone's life who doesn't have it very good.

To me, plastic surgery is along the same line as getting tattoos. If you really want to get it, then so be it. I'm not a big fan of it, but who am I to stop people from getting it? From everything I've heard, plastic surgery usually has bad results and the people that undergo it know that, so it's their own mistake if it goes bad. I just think it's wierd that someone is willing to spend thousands of dollars just to look better--talk about low self-esteem. But, actually I do like it when I'm walking around and I see someone that has done plastic surgery like on their face. It's completely obvious and I like to point and laugh at their ridiculousness, but that's just me. Why pay so much when the surgery is like calling out to everyone that sees you? I think that they need to get a life.

I feel that the only time it is okay to have plastic surgery is if you have been in some sort of accident. An accident were you are pretty much unrecognizable. i think plastic surgery for cosmetic reasons are just stupid. Who ever made you had it planned that you were going to look a certain way. You should be happy with what you have. Plastic Surgery is not worth the risk.

I believe that a person should only get plastic surgery if they are deformed or if their health was in danger. I think that you shouldn't try to look like Barbie. Each person looks different, that's what makes you an individual. If you mess with your appearance then you aren't really the person that you should be. I think that any alterations of your body is plastic surgery. So botox is plastic surgery. It's not natural. It's also not a very wise investment because eventually you'll start sagging/wrinkling. Nobody can beat aging.

I don't really have a problem with plastic surgery. I think that if you are really unhappy with the way you look and there is a way to change it you should go for it. Yeah, you will change on the outside, but you are still the same person on the inside, and if it makes you happy why not? I don't think anyone under 18 should get plastic surgery just for fun, but if you are born with deformaties then I think it is okay. Both my aunt and my cousin had plastic surgery to make themselves happier, and in both cases they are. They feel better about themselves and are still the great people I have known them to be. So although many people think it is wrong or stupid, I disagree and think it's each person's decision and they can do whatever makes them happy.

I think that unless something drastic happened to you, you should be happy with what God gave you. I think that age doesn't matter. No I don't think that altering is right, but oh well some people do it. I think that botox is because the doctors are injecting some thing in to the face. Yes it okay. No I don't think that it is worth it. I think that it is costly to prevent people from getting it.

Personally, if you are not happy with yourself, then get over it. We are born the way that we are because we are to be one-of-a-kinds. We are unique people, and each and every person is different in the WORLD. If you want plastic surgery, it's because you are trying to conform to what society thinks is normal. Under the ONLY circumstances that a person should get plastic surgery is if you have a malformation somewhere on your body that is life-threatening. For instance, I have a huge scar on my leg from a nail that dug into it when I was 8, and I could have had plastic surgery to fix it, but I chose not to because it's a part of who I am. It tells a story. Plastic surgery is wrong when people do it to look like celebrities or to try and get the "perfect" body. If you plan on getting plastic surgery, I think that you need to be already at full growth before you do so.

I don't really have a big issue with plastic surgery. If people feel they need plastic surgery to improve them selves thats there choice.I think it is a good idea for someone to have plastic surgery if its going to help them out in life 100%. I think plastic surgery is wrong when you look like some sort of hand made toy. They some women who got hooked and they looked like real life barbie dolls, and i don't mean that in a good way. if you need to be succesful in your career or if there is some other defect on your visual appearance that makes you stand out from the rest of the world. I think you should be 21, because you are an adult and you are responsible enough to make that decision.if there the legal age to get plastic surgery let them, they are the ones who are going to have to live with the consequences.I think botox is considered if the doctors have to work on you and your chaning youe personal appearance then it is surgery.I think if the accident did some bad look on the appearance then yeah if they feel like it would help them out then go for it. I personally don't think its worth the risk, but if other people they need to make them selves feel better, i am not hating them for that. I think its very expensive but if you can affor it then take a shot.

I believe that people should be able to get any sort of plastic surgery. If changing one's appearance truely makes them happy, then who am I to dissagree? I do not think that children should recieve plastic surgery (obviously not in cases of repairing damaged tissue i.e. cleft pallet, burn scars ect...). Children below the age of consent are too young to know the permenant effects of plastic surgery and their idiot parents are no help on educating them on that matter. Obviously people should learn to be comfortable in their own bodies, but I guess plastic surgery may help. I know that if extremely obese people lose a lot of weight they end up with excess skin. It would be pretty horrible to go through all that trouble to improve your body and not get rid of that eye sore.
I think that botox is plastic surgery. Just because it is a simple procedure does not mean that it is not plastic surgery. As for the risk of complications, I sure wouldn't risk it but I am not going to knock the people who do. Ive never really looked in to the cost of plastic surgery but if someone needs to get somthing unnecessary done they should be willing to pay the high prices.

I think people can do whatever they want with their money. So if they want to have their faces and bodies mutilated, then I guess it's alright. I know that I personally would never do any of this crap, and don't respect all of these rich people obsessing over their appearance. I think plastic surgery, in all forms, no matter how old the person is, is disgusting. However, I'm thankful we have such technology because there are a lot of people whom have suffered from birth defects or who are deformed in some way, whether it be the result of a genetic problem or a terrible accident, who need these kinds of surgeries.

I think that ultimately it is someone’s personal decision to get plastic surgery for whatever reason whether it it’s for cosmetic or medical reasons. I don’t think that someone younger than 18 years of age should get surgery because they are still growing; unless of course their appearance is severely affecting their everyday lives. I don’t necessarily agree with getting a nose job or breast implants just because someone wants to compete with characters on TV or in movies and magazines. I think that some surgeries are worth the risk if they will make the person’s life a lot better. I don’t think that plastic surgery is too costly; doctors have to go to school for a long time to get that kind of medical license and they have a lot of responsibility on their hands.

I don't think plastic surgery is a good alternative for anyone. I have seen a lot of people who have had lypo suction done and for a year or so they look somewhat good and skinny but it seems like they just gain all that weight back. The problem is that after the surgery the people do not know how to maintain a healthy lifestyle. People need to stop trying to take shortcuts and learn how to do some things the hard way.
