Death: The Unknown Fear?

How often do you think of dying? After death are you going to heaven or hell? Do you believe in reincarnation? Will being a good person while alive assure you a ticket into heaven after death? Do you believe in HELL? Are there roaming Spirits that refuse to die or don't know they are DEAD? Should there be a fear of death?

I try not to think about death too much, even though it's around us all the time. When loved ones die or people close to us die, we can't help but think about it. I'd like to believe that when I die, which hopefully won't be for a while, that I will go to Heaven. I believe that if you lead a good life and try to do the best you can that God will accept you for who you were while you lived. I do think that being a semi-decent person couldn't hurt if you are really worried about getting into Heaven, but I think that if you have done bad things in the past and you ask for forgiveness that you can also rest assured. I'm not really sure what to think about Hell, I'd rather not think about what it might be like and everything, it doesn't sound too appealing. I don't think there are roaming spirits on Earth, either. I really don't think anyone should be afraid of death, it's an inevitability... We are all going to die at some point in time so why bother worrying about it? I think that instead of worrying about death we should focus on living while we still can.

I hate it when people say that you could die tomorrow becasue dying is my BIGGEST fear. I think its just the fact of not knowing what will happen. Will I get to see everyone again? Is it all pearly gates and white clouds? If it is, I guess i really have nothing to be afraid of. Im not really sure what I think about Hell and if I really believe in it, so I hope to be going to heaven when I die. I think God is a pretty forgiving person so I think thats where most people go. I beleive in spirits, but not bad ones out to get you. When my grandma died, there was a bird that always that came and sat on our fence everyday and my cousin actually fed it out of his hands. We thought it might have been her and it was kind of comforting, and then it stopped coming one day. I think they might just stick around to make sure you know they are alright.

I dont really think much about death because I know I will never know what the after life is or if it even exists until I die. Im not a churchy person and I dont really care too much about it. I feel that I should just live my life being a nice person and having fun doing whatever I do. The heaven and the pearly gates would obviously be nice but I think its just a story that people preach about and believe in for a peace of mind to keep them from worrying about death. Instead of spending my time worrying about death and what happens after death, im going to live my life as best as I can while I can.

When I think about death, I try think of it as a positve experience. I myself not being a religous person, I find comfort in not knowing what happens after death. I recognize it as something above my mere comprehension as a human being. My spirit could go to a place resembling the heaven that has been described to me ever since I was born, or the hell, or somehere completely different, which is, personally, what I think is most likely. I will say one thing, though, and that is if there is a hell, and if not saying I have faith in some book written a long-ass time ago is grounds for me having to spend an eternity there, then I think God is a little sadistic.

Well i don;t just sit around and stew about dying. I know that it is a very real part of life. The only thing I really know is that I would ratther go before anybody in my family. I can deal with thinking that it could be my time, by hate accepting things like my grandma is getting old, or my parents are getting older. I don't fear death because I do believe in Heaven. I believe in Hell as well, but I hope that i live the proper life and don't go there. Too many people are under the impression that if they don't go to church, then they can't get into heaven. I think live the right life. Love, show copassion, think about others before yourself, and maybe be a carpenter--it couldn't hurt. As for spirits, I'm not sure that they are roaming about.

I believe in heaven, and if a person believes in heaven they have to believe in hell and vice-versa. I often think of dying, because it is something that I have never done, and I can only do it once. I believe in Christianity, and within this religion, there is much more when you die. Death is going on around us all the time yet a lot of us chose to ignore it for fear if we think about it too much, it will happen. Its hard to believe in something we cant see,so a lot of us just don't believe, knowing that this is not the answer, its not the cure. And whether they be Catholic, Muslim, bu dist,or Christian, they all have their own reasons for believing in what they believe in enough to fill hours of time explaining. I believe that these ghost as we say are not people refusing to leave, but demons that prey on the weak. And if you have assurance of where you will go when you die there should be no fear of death.

I try not to think about dying; it is not on back burner in my mind by any means. After death i hope to go to heaven, but i will respect God's decision either way. I think that leading a good life and asking for forgiveness for your sins should be able to permit you into heaven, as long as your forgiveness is sincere. I believe in hell, and i think that it is worse than people can ever imagine. There are no roaming spirits. People should not fear death, if you're going to die then you're going to die.

I think of death, but not very often. I'm not morbid. I believe that I'm going to heaven. I don't believe in reincarnation. You go to heaven or hell, not become a dog or something like that. A good deed will not get you into heaven. Only believing in Jesus will get you to heaven. Hell is real. People want to deny it, because they don't want to hear where they'll go. I believe that there are demons. If your a spirit, aren't you technically already dead? How can a spirit refuse to die? I don't know, I'm pretty sure that you would know if you were dead. There should only be a fear of death if you're uncertain of where you'll go. Anybody who knows that they're going to hell should be afraid of death?

I personally do not think about dyeing to much but occasionally it has crossed my mind. The only time i really think about it is when i try to figure out what i want to be remembered for before i pass. What kind of mark do i want to leave on this world. I beleive there is a heaven and a hell because although there is no proof there is really not a lot of proof for how we got here in the first place. Even if there is no god i believe it is a healthy assumption to make. When you die if it turns out there is no heaven atleast you can rest at peace knowing you did the best you could to change this place while you were here. I have noticed that a lot of people who follow god usually have it better then those who dont. I do not think that is a coincidence.

As of now, I really don't think about dying to awefully much because I have become a lot happier person than I used to be. As a younger teenager I was diagnosed with depression and I used to think about death all the time. NO. .I was not wearing black all of the time and I didn't draw morbid pictures and such. It was just something I thought about. I believe I will go to heaven and I don't believe in reincarnation. If I am a really awesome person on this earth, I will not become a cow!I also do not believe that being a relatively good person will get you to heaven. You need salvation to go to heaven, or belief that Jesus is the son of God. I do believe in hell and I believe that people that are afraid of dying is only because they do believe in hell. They believe in it because they know they might go there. I don't believe that there are spirits that refuse to die, but I do believe some good or bad spirits can dwell here on earth. No one should be afraid of death if they know where they are going.Death is one of the only things every living thing has in common.

Growing up I dealt with a lot of death, so I have a very dark sense of humor. Death should be laughed at and about. I hope to die laughing, just to get the better of it. There is no point in fearing or worrying about death, because there is nothing you can do about it. I do not believe in a heaven, a hell, or a god. I do think there is something out there that we have yet to understand. I would also like to believe that we have spirits or souls that could transcend reality. I don't like religion because in the end everyone is going to hell because they don't believe in someone elses' god.

I try not to think about death because it is such a scary thought to have in my head. When I do think about it though I think what how people would react and if they really cared about me. When someone dies they don't neccessarily go to heaven or hell. Thier bodies return back to the dirt were it came from and thier life force goes back to God. The one who gave them that life force. Being a good person would not guarantee you a ticket into heaven unless you are deeply committed to doing good for the rest of your life and you follow the 10 commandments that are stated in the bible. I don't think thier are spirits roaming around and if there were then we as people would not be able to see them because spirits are invisible to us. Also, nobody should have a fear of death because that is part of life.

I'm not really a morbid person, but I tend to find myself thinking about dying/death rather often, actually.

I do not believe in reincarnation. The life you have now on earth is your only chance, my friend. I believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and His Heavenly Realm.

No, just being a good person in life does not assure you a one-way ticket to Heaven. Heaven is reached by those who believe in the Father and have faith in Him. Some people think that if you have faith in anything, you're good to go. Far from it. You have to have faith in the right thing.

Yes, I definitely believe in Hell. I wrote a paper on it, "Heaven vs. Hell." Pretty selfexplanitory title. After you die, you're going to one of those two places. It's up to you and your life right now to figure out where you're going to go.

Being afraid of death is rather pointless. Everyone's life is going to end at one point or another. There's no point in worry about it all the time. Live your life happily and don't be bothered by the fact you're going to die just like everyone else on the earth.

I used to be afraid of dying, but one day I talked my mom about it and she said that you shouldn't be scared of dying. I feel that if you live your life, day by day, to it's fullest then you'll "end up" where you should be. Everyday is a test to "get where you're going."

I try not to think about dying to much and try to focus on life today and think about living. Heaven or hell is everyones beliefs and everyone beliefs are different. I think that i will go to heaven and pray and hope i go to heaven. You know i do not know if just being a good person will get you a ticket in to heaven. I am not God, so i do not know who he takes. What i think is if you have God in your life and you believe and worship him as much as you can your chances of heaven is more likely. I believe in heaven and hell. Maybe there are roaming Spirits and maybe not. I think they are angels and not ghosts but thats my opinon on that. Doesnt everyone fear death at some point in their life. I do but maybe i wont when i have lived my life to the fullest and there is nothing else left for me to do in life than maybe i wont. WHo knows.

I don't know how offten I think of dying. I hope and like to think that I am going to heaven. I don't know if I believe in reincarnation. I try to be a good person, but I also try to live life to the fullest. I believe that those who don't go to heaven go somewhere, not necessarly hell, but somewhere else. I do belive that there are roaming spirits, too many people have see and experienced stuff for there not to be. No, because as long as you are a good person then you have nothing to fear.

I am afraid of dieing. What happens after you die? Do you feel anything? "Heaven" to me is a fantisy that is painted in the movies to be a fun filled advinture and hell is painted to be hot and painful. I have no idea what to expect after I die or while I am dieing.
Nobody is a true good person. Everyone has a bad, mean, or ugle side to them. If you ever run into a person who says that they are a true good person, have them look into the mirror and say that.
I help friends when I can, I take care of my children and I love my husband, but I do have a mean, bad, and ugle side.

I'm an atheist so I believe in science (as much as we know) so I'm pretty sure we die and that's it. I believe that there is a scientific energy everywhere including w/in people and where it goes and what it does is unknown to my tiny little brain. I have a son now and I'm afraid of dying exponentially more than before I had him. Being a mother gave me more of a fighting spirit for his life which includes mine. I think if there is a hell, it's something created in each individuals mind, we can create scary some stuff.

Dying is definitely my worst fear! I don't really talk it about much, or I try to avoid it. I believe that when someone dies they either go to heave or hell, and there is no inbetween. In movies when someone dies, they usually don't to go heaven until they have finished all their business or whatever. I don't think this is true. Once you die, you automatically go to heaven or hell. I have been taught that heaven does exist, and I do believe that if someone lives their life right they will go there. I do believe in hell as well, and I hope I intend not to go there because I have lived my life right. Death is a scary thing, but it is bound to happen to us all.

I think a lot of people are afraid of death and I also think it is unfortunate. Obviously as we all know, we are going to die. I know I don't want to spend what little time I have on this earth worrying about the unavoidable, because if you do, when that day comes you are going to realize you just wasted the only life you have and then it will be to late to do anything about it. I don't know if heaven and hell exist, I personally don't believe they do, but I am a mere speck in this universe and don't expect nor would I try to pursuaid someone in to agreeing with me. I think if handled sanely religion can be a good thing wether it is true or not. To sum up my response. NO, you should not be afraid of death, and don't waste your days of living worrying about it.

Death is a part of life...eventually it is going to happen. I do not think of death that much, however, it does come to mind every once in a while. When a loved one passes away or when you have come close to it. (car accident, etc....) I do believe in heaven and hell. I plan to continue growing in my Christian faith, therefore, I do not fear death.

Death is inevitable. It's the one thing you cant escape, no matter what, we will all die at some point in our lives. Death is a scary thing when you think about it at such a young age because you have so much ahead of you. When I think about death sometimes I'll just imagine being asleep forever, not dreaming, but nothing, just blackness forever! When you're dead you don't know it, but when you think about it when you're alive it's very scary. The subject of Heaven and Hell, or reincarnation is really tough. I believe in God and in Jesus. I've heard stories of people that die and come back, and right before they came back to life, they were in heaven they thought just for that small time. There are tons of differnt "kinds" of hell. I think people that did terrible things in their life, like killing and such should be sent to hell. For reincarnation - Sometimes I do think about that if we die, would we come back as a new life? We wouldn't know of our previous life of course, but what else could we be? We shouldn't be thinking of death at this age or at all. We should be enjoying life while we can.

I never really think about death. Why would you want to. All a person needs to do is live like it is their last day, and at the end of the day, try not to have any regrets. I live life like that. I try not to hold grudges, because you never know when someone may not be there the next day. I definitely believe in reincarnation after death. I mean, have you ever thought about where you go after you die, its so complicated and just gets me so confused, because it's something you just don't know until it happens. I don't believe in heaven and hell and I think it's more of something that is kind of made up. Like a story that people tell their children, like the Easter bunny and Santa Claus. I somewhat believe in ghosts, and I definitely believe in spirits. Like, in the recent past I got in a horrible car accident and I felt my grandmother's presence in my car. So, I do believe in spirits and ghosts.

I don't really think about dying too much. I know how hard it is too deal with the death of a loved one, and I know how hard it is to cope with a situation like that, but I still try not to think about it. I realize that death is inevitable and hopefully when my time does come, I will go to heaven. I think that this should be the ultimate goal for everybody and if everybody did think like this, death would be more of a positive thing, instead of grief. I'm not too sure if there are roaming spirits who refuse to die, but if there are, I just hope that I don't become one of them.

I really don't think about dying a whole awful lot. I know there is a heaven and a hell. I know for a fact that I am going to heaven. No, I don't believe in reincarnation. No, just by being a good person will not get you to heaven. No, I don't think that there are roaming spirits who refuse to die or not knowing they are dead. Although, I do believe all the paranormal stuff people are into is really demons. I do believe God sent His son, Jesus, to die on the cross to forgive us our sins. That made a way for us to get to heaven. We only need to believe this truly did happen and accept Jesus into your life. There should be no fear of death if you are a Christian.

I don't think about death too often. At least, not me dying. I don't know where I will go when I die. I don't believe in reincarnation. I do believe in Heaven and Hell, but as of right now, I am still researching my views on that. My sister and her husband swear they have seen more than one spirit in their house. I trust my sister, and I believe it could be possible that certain spirits are roaming the earth. I've always heard you shouldn't fear death, but I really wouldn't want to die at the age I am at. I have not had enough experiences. Is this considered fear?

I have thought about my own death on numerous occasions, especially after hearing about something bad happening to someone else. Realizing that we are all going to die someday, we tend to appreciate our life more. I like to believe that I’m going to heaven when I die, at least I hope I will. I do believe that if you are a good person you will go to heaven. I try to be a good person who makes the right choices, but nobody is perfect. I do believe in hell and I also believe in spirits. It’s only natural for people to fear death. I fear the actual dying process, but I don’t fear being dead. I look forward to the day when I stand before my father in heaven and am reunited with loved ones whom I have lost.
