Presidental Election
Who will be the next president?
Which is more important for this country--a first woman president, or a first African American president? Or do you think we need neither at this point?
Do you believe any of the candidates running for president is trustworthy?
Do we need a democrat or republican in office for the next term?
If you don't care about any of the questions or about the presidential election or politics in general, please try to explain why.

I don't really follow politics so I really couldn't tell you which candidate I think would be better for our country. At this point, my main concern is getting our troops out of Iraq and those other areas. I mainly just follow that because I have many friends in the Marines and a boyfriend in the Air Force and I don't want any of them going back to war. As long as we get a president that is going to help us end our time in war I'll be satisfied.
I believe Obama will become the next US President. I dont believe it matters if we have a change in race or sex. The main reason Obama or Hillary would win is because America is trying to show that it has changed over these last 40 years. If anyone is trustworthy out of the 3 main candidates its most likey Hillary Clinton. Since I am a democrat, i will say a democrat should be president.
I don't really care about any of the questions or about politics in general. I think it is mostly a popularity contest, the candidates go from state to state trying to get people to vote for them and all they really do is bash one another about everything. I remember hearing about how Hillary Clinton thought it was terrible that O'Bama used to smoke pot, but she can just over look what Bill did when he was president. Mel
ok, I will be honest. I do not follow politics at all, so I will try to answer as well as I can.
I really don't know who the next president will be. In my mind I think it will be Obama.
I don't think we should have a woman president. I don't think women could handle the pressure that male presidents have to endure. They would probably make more mistakes than the males. I am a republican and I really don't want to see a democrat in the office at all.
I believe that any of the candidates are trustworthy. They lie about what they are going to do, and when they get into office, they screw up and turn our country upside down.
Republicans in my mind are better. But as I said, politics are never trustworthy, so we are all doomed anyway.
I just don't like following politics. I think it's hard and I hate trying to figure out and choose is going to be the best. If the nation believes that someone is better, then that person will be in office..lets hope and pray we won't be doomed

...HILLARY FEARS...In my opinion I think that Barack Obama should become the first African American president. A first African American president would be great for this country. There comes a time when we as America, need to become open minded and change the atmosphere of our ideal president. Both are trust worthy in some ways; Barrack wants to help America all around by stopping the violence and the poverty among races. Hillary in my opinion isn’t trying to really help the public with her new health plan. I think that Hillary I trying to gain the power that her husband had once before. Both candidates have had some rocky roads while running, lashing out on one another and trying to make each look bad in someway. There is a need for change that personally I think a democrat could bring. Obama and Hillary both know what they want, but eventually one is better than the other; and the good is going to out weigh the bad.
Democrat--Republican..
Liberal--Conservative.....
It really doesn't matter anymore because they are so narrowly divided that it's hard to tell who is on the right-wing and who is on the left-wing when they are all trying to safely ride down the middle.
Personally, I don't think it matters if we have a black president or a woman president. I dont think that race or gender should play a role in politics at all. I don't think any of the candidates are trustworthy, either. I think that we have had lots of promises and we shall see how far those promises get us.
As much as I don't want to admit it, I think Barack Obama will most likely be our next president. He doesn't have that Machiavellian instinct that I'd like to see, but he sure knows how to bullshit.

i really dont know toto much about the whole election and about what it going on, but from what i have heard i personally dont think hillary or barack should be president. yes at some point in time we need a woman president and a president of a different race, but i dont think that these candidates are the ones to start us off. i know nobody is perfect and nobody can please everybody but i just dont like some of the things barack has said about cerain things, and theres just something about hillary i dont like. she has no room to judge any of the other candidates on things they have done in the past, if she wants to do that just look at her husband for judgement. i cant really say in any of the candidates are trustworthy since i havent really been following the election. any outcome of the election will be fine with me because theres nothing i can do about it in the long wrong other than just deal with it.

I think it will be Obama. I don't think it should have anything to do with being a man or woman. Race should have nothing to do with being president either. No politician is very trustworthy, but at least they are in the spotlight when they get to be the president. In my opinion we need a democrat after having a republican for the last eight years.
I dont really follow politics, but let me tell you, if Obama or Clinton become president, I'm moving to Mexico. Shit would get rediculous. First of all, I feel that no one would take a women president that serious, and it would be really hard for her to control the country and push for the best she can. If Obama becomes president taxes are going to even higher. I dont understand how they want to take more money from people who actually work hard for a living to support a family. All I no is my old man pays a couple hundred grand a year in income taxes, and he know's its only going to go up. And hes giving all his hard earned money to people who abuse the economy and just collect our hard earned money. John McCain!
Brett VanAsdlen
I would like John McCain to win but if not then I would pick Obama over Hillary. Why? because she would yank the troops out of their so fast we wouldnt be able to finish what we started. Plus we are making a lot of progress that the media never lets you know about, trust me I was their and I dont regret any of it. We have put so much money into this why not stick around and get our moneys worth. As far as the troops themselves well we all signed up knowing that one day there would be war somewhere in this world and if you didnt there is something wrong! We are doing our job out there wether anyone likes it or not and I would hate to see Hillary move in and take that away. I do not think a woman should be president. Women tend to base everything on emotion, especially thinking;I dont think that a woman could handle the pressure that comes with the job of being president.
As far as which party might be elected next? Well Clinton was in for 8 years, democrat, then Bush for 8 republican, now? Probably a democrat. I am a republican and always will be but sometimes it is hard to see where the line is drawn between the two. Politicians always say what people want to hear but once they are elected everything is suddenly backasswards.

I think McCain should and will be the next president. The negativity in the democratic race is getting tiresome, and both the democratic candidates are dangerous extremists. First you have Hillary who not only is not as experienced as McCain, but was not strong enough to leave her husband when he cheated on her. And what can I say about Obama racist, no experience, extreme liberal, just another smooth talking crook. Liberalism is a lie so the only candidate worth voting for is a conservative republican, since there is not one of them I guess I will have to vote for McCain.
I don’t know who will be the next president, time will tell. I hope that Senator McCain will be our president. It is not important to me if our president is white, black, yellow, blue, male, or female just that they are a great leader. I trust Senator McCain, but Hiliary and Obama are untrustworthy. They both have a shady past. The Clintons our liars just look at her sniper fire comments. Obama, does not even ware an American flag, put his hand on his heart while the National Anthem is being played, but what really make me mad is that when he speaks the American flag is never behind him. If the flag is there he will place the flag for off to the left or right. So, that the camera crew will have to pan over to ever show one was placed there. The senate majority is now democratic, because of this I feel there needs to be a republican as commander in chef. Having this unbalance in our offices means our leader need to fight to get laws pasted. No one side gets all of the power, this makes America better.

At this point of the race, I'm not sure who will be president. I think having either a woman or an African American male in office will make history, because it's never occured before. I believe all the canidates are trusworthy. It depends on once the canidate is in office, will he or she keep his or her word. I think it would be nice to have a democrat in office next term, it will be something different, something called a change.
I really not sure who the next President will be. As of who will be the "1st" this or that, I don't think that should matter. The best person for the job should be the focus on the race, not gender or race. Politician and trustworthy, two terms I wouldn't put together other than this sentence. Democrat and republican sometimes I wonder how much a like they are. They agree to disagree, and discuss for months without my ground made on any progress made. So I really don't care about politics because I fell all they care about is lining thier own pockets.

I believe having a woman and a black man as the president would be very important i just don't know if most of America would agree. I believe that Obama is the best candidate but I believe that no polition is trustworthy. I believe that republicans have a bad name now because of what Bush has done in the White House so its going to be pretty hard to get another republican in there but I also think that its going to be hard to get a woman or a black man in the White House as well. But I don't follow politics very closely.

I don't know who will be the next President but I hope it's a democrat though, either Obama or Hilary it doesn't matter. Right now we have a Republican President and it's not helping the nation. The economy has gone down big time since we have had a Republican President, it's known. Jobs have been lost, prices have gone up, gas pumps at the station have sky rockets and I know some of this is because of war but the democratic that are running want to take a different approach on war, going the opposite way Bush did. I at the same time don't follow up on this campaign because it's not in my interest to hear these candidates bitch at each other when I can just see my friends do it and get a better laugh out of it.

I believe that John McCain will and should be our next president. He has shown his strength and commtitment to our country through his actions POW which neither of the other 2 candidates have. I am very conservitive having owned and worked for several compqamies. The tax load in our country is to high and the demicratic party seems to be all about taking more of my money to help others which makes me feel like they don't think I am smart enough to handle it myself. I give to theose in need all fo the time and prefer to only support things I believe in.
I beieve theat being someones wife does not qualify you to become commander and chief of the most powerful country in the world. I also feel you color does not qualify you either. Obama has shown throuh his actions(refusing to resite the pledge of aligiance to our flag, and his associations with others that he at this point in his life does not have the wisdom orvirtues needed to lead is such a powerful position. I know it would be great to breakdown a barrier of race or sex but these 2 candidates are not qualified.

1. first question dont really know every time i vote for a politicion the other canidate gets elected.
2. It would really be interested to see what a woman would do for our country being a woman i can think of many thing that i would like to change for people such as the welfare system lower price of gas and food and health insurance for the poor and one who do not have any.
3. all candidates who run for any position promise you every thing but in the end they never do what they right thing.
4. democrat i believe that we need someone for the poor and middle class not the right.
5. i am alway watching the new but i really do not listen to much they are say being that they are saying bad and not good things in the new instead or what they people needs most of all instead of bad mouthing any of the canidates.
I hope Hilary or Obama wins. I feel like John Mcnain or whatever his name is is just another george bush and he will mess up the country worse and have everything in shambles as it already is. I really dont think any of them truly care about the american people they just tell you what you want to hear.
