Robbin's Question

America has been at war with Iraq for 3 years. What do you think President Bush should do to handle our troops in this situation?

I think Bush should and does support them! He's our greatest president ever and he's keeping us safe from all the Islamofascists who want to take over the world.

It's easier said than done but he needs to pull them out of there. It's a tricky situation. We should have never invaded in the first place. This war is based on Bush's own personal vendetta with Hussian going back to his dad's administration. My best friend just got back from Iraq and he said it was a nightmare. Bush has started this mess and now there is no end in sight. I hope that someone can figure out a way to do this before this becomes more of nightmare for our country and Iraq.
If we pull out we leave a nation in ruins. If we stay we lose more and more of our people. There is no easy answer.

I think he should keep doing what he's doing. I'm so sick and tired of everybody giving him crap about going to war with Iraq. I mean lets not forget people they flew airplanes into big skyscrapers killing a lot of people. Oh then they all wanted us to go to war and punish those responsible. If we did not go to war they would just keep flying plane into things and blowing crap up until they take over. They started it and we're finishing it. Ask the troops over there and I bet they aren't complaining. Yea they miss their families but thats part of the job and they all knew that going into it. Being a member of the ARMY for 8 years I know that every proud american over there and everyone that lost thier life would do it again if they had the chance. Now Mr. Bush could have attacked differently. Instead of playing around with these yeahoos he should of just went in full force, air, ground, special forces you name it and it should have been there and all at once went and destroyed them. They would either surrender or die and we wouldn't be playing these games right now.

I think it is time to pull them out, this was supposed to be a war on terror, and I dont think bin laden is in Iraq. He was our biggest concern after 9-11, but now it seems like a war over oil and a personal vendetta from his fathers time in office than terrorists invading our country.

The war in Iraq is a ridiculous waste of resources and human life that, in the end, is going to accomplish no more than our efforts in Korea and Vietnam did. I agree with Ryan to an extent in that war has become too much of a game nowadays; if we have a reason to declare war on a country it should be a swift, deliberate response that doesn't leave any question about the outcome. The fiasco in Iraq had niether the clear reason for the action (Hussein had nothing to do with 9/11 despite the fact that almost half the country believes that he did... can we say propaganda?), nor a swift and definate outcome (mission most definately NOT accomplished). I really have no idea how we could pull out our troops there right now. The bad blood between Iraq and Iran still boils pretty hot, not to mention the internal strife between the factions vying for power within the country itself. Our Mr. Bush has gotten us into quite a pickle over in the middle east; maybe it's time to elect a president who has military command experience instead of another draft dodger.

We may have only been at war with Iraq for three years this time, but we have been fighting with them ever since I can remember. If we give up now, its just going to come back and bite us in the ass later. I think people need to put a little trust in our government. They know a lot more about whats going on in the middle east then we do. I don't care how much of the news you watch, you only are seeing a very small portion of whats going on. How smart would it be to allow vital information to go on the news when the Iraqi government is watching it as well? They have to keep a lot of things secret in order to protect our soldiers the best they can. I agree with the person who was in the aremy for 8 years when he said that every proud american over their and everone that lost their life would do it again if they had the chance. I was in the NAVY for 6 years and I would glady give my life to see the middle east at peace. About 80% of my at sea time in the NAVY was spent sitting in the pusian gulf. I was there before 9/11; I was there when the events of 9/11 happened; I was there many times after 9/11. A US aircraft carrier has always had to sit in the pursian gulf to keep an eye on countries like Iraq. We need to bring an end to it once and for all. I'm not going to sit here and say that President Bush hasn't made some mistakes, but who has ever won the perfect game of Risk?

Good Luck,

I am struck by the diversity of the answers...the very intelligent to the very dumb.

The war in Iraq was constructed by the US government to deal with unfinished business, and to help the economy. As is stated in George Orwells 1984, a constant war that gets nowhere is good economically, especially if through this war, there is the possibility of more, cheap oil!

The US does however now have a duty to clear up the mess it made, and so should stop working for its own good and actually help iraq-putting money in without expecting return. In the end, it would probably be financially beneficial for the US too

I think President Bush has made a mistake by sending troops into Iraq. As a president he has made some pretty bad decisions and is now taking all the wrap for it.

I don't think for any reason we should have entered Iraq and began war with them. Obviously it was a mistake. Many innocent people are being killed. I think President Bush needs to pull every single soldier out of Iraq and forget about the "clean up".

We had no business going in there and we have all the business of coming out. Tragidies happen and you have to deal with them and move on.

I think Bush is causing more problems than he was ready for. Instead of helping the American people he's hurting us. Bush needs to bring our troops home: And tell us what he's really after/looking for in Iraq.

I don't know that Bush would have gone to war if he could see the future. I'm all for our troops getting out of there, but I do think we should finish what was started.

I believe that President Bush should do his best to finish what he has started and get our troops home as soon as possible. I feel that our President has done a bad job of deploying our troops. I think that they have been spread too thin. I mean that they have too much on their plat at one time. There is just a lot that they have to deal with.
Things such as fighting the war in Ira q, finding Bin Laden, and helping to rebuild communities touched by the war.
