Do you think capital punishment should be inforced here in America as a form of punishment or not? What are your reasons as to why you feel the way you do? What are the strengths and weaknesses of capital punishment in your opinion? Do you think there is anything that can be done to change the way we approach capital punishment as a country?

Dear Josh,
I think that capitol punishment is justified. I think that if the court looks into the crime and they prove the person guilty, the court should be able to give them any sentence they deem necessary. Prison in our country isn’t the worst place you can be. I’m sure that the inmates would rather not be there, but the conditions are human with food and shelter. I think that rather them spending the money to support these people with life sentences. We should be able to cut the cost and do the world a favor.

Well Josh, I think that capital punishment is a very good idea for people that kill kids or women. I think otherwise we should put them to work and get free labor out of them. I always thought that two wrongs don't make a right, so why do we have such punishments still to this day. This seems to me like it is more of a older day actvity and now days we should think a little more outside of the box.

I think that capitol punishment is the right way to go in this country. For example people that have life in prison and no chance to get out, they should be taken out back and shot. There is no reason for people to be taking up space in places that we are already hurting for space. People are getting off too easy if they comitt a harsh crime and being provided luxuries at the tax payers cost. And some times Prisons are in better condition than some living conditions for these people. There are better places were the money can go rather than putting money into a pit that no one will see again.

I do not believe that capitol punishmentis ever justifiable. When someone has been convicted of murder, we deem that to be very unexeptable and wrong, but then we want to do the same thing to them and kill them but be ok with it. It is a double standard. So many people talk about how that person is such a horrible human being for killing that person, but to punish him/her we want to do the same. Are we really still saying an eye for an eye. If it is not ok to kill someone then why is ok to kill them as a punishment. If it is not ok to rape a rapist then why is it ok to murder a murderer. It's not ok no matter how you look at it.

Capital Punishment does not solve anything but another death. I am totally against it. What will that person dying do for you but let you know they are dead. I surley won't take away the pain so what's the use, to give them what they deserve. If that's the case then the judge who sentenced that person and the ones killing him should also get what the person being killed got because their doing what he did, killing someone.

Capital punishment shound be inforced here in America. An eye for an eye. thats the way it should be. If you can go out and kill someone you should be killed too. It's only far right? With the thought of what is goin to happen to them, killers would think twice about killing. I think that as soon as he has comiited a murder and it is evident. he or she should be dead. Dont drag it out for years. just do it and that is one less killer in the world.
I believe that Capital punishment is the best idea ever. Capital punishment should be used for murderers, tresonist, and terrorists. For people who malests kids and kills them should not get Capital Punishment but intead doulble life sentence because they should suffer for the rest of their lives and never get the easy way out.

I do think that capital punishment should be an option. Some people cannot be fixed no matter how much jail time or counseling they recieve. I don't think that it is another person's job to decide when someone should die, but you have to look at the risks. I don't want a rapist/murder who doesn't believe that behavior is wrong walking up to my child on the street. It's not worth the risk. I think other methods should be tried first. Whether or not a person should die is a big decision, and I think there should be limitations on who it can apply to.

I am an advocate of capitol punishment. I believe if you take someones' life, then your life should be taken away from you. Too many murderers get plea bargins in exchange for life in prison. Why spend money housing a criminal in prison when death is inevitable anyway. Instead of spending tax payers money on housing criminals we should just put them in the chair. Though i'm an advocate of capitol pusishment i also believe in hard evidence. I don't think someone should be sent to death unless the evidence is undeniable and uncircumstantial. The criminal must be proven undeniably guilty i think

I do not think that capital punishment should be inforced in the USA. Why would you want to kill someone who is not afraid of being kill. You would be doing them a favor. Most convicted killers are ready to die, they do not care whether they live or not. With this in mind I feel that to inforce capital punishment we would be doing two things wrong. One, we would be going down to thier level which is what they want us to do. Two, we would be doing them a favor and killing them. They do not care if they live and they would rather die. so why would we give someone who killed our loved ones what they want? It just doesnt make sense.

I am not really sure about capitol punishment. Honestly, if someone would have killed or harmed any of my family members I think that they should get the death sentence. I would be very upset if they did not get the death sentence. In the other hand, I think it is sooo sad for those who recieved the death sentence only to found out they were not guilty. I just think if America uses capitol punishment they should have all their facts straight first.

I think Capital Punishment is justified depending on the crime. People who go on mass murders or kill women and children deserve the worst sentence possible. I like the idea of people working for free for the rest of their life. It would be nice to get these criminals to the point where they wish they were dead, something to justify what they did to another human being.

I believe capital punishment should be used and is justified in certain crimes. I feel the molesters, sexual predators, and rapist are ones it shouldn't be used on. Sometimes, I feel these people need to die a slow death for doing the horrible violent acts. I know it would put ease on the victims to know they are put to death. I feel it should be used for habitual offenders, then our prisons wouldn't be so overcrowded.

Dear Josh,
Even though there have been many diverse opinions about capital punishment, i think that it is justified. I mean really, in the grand scheme of things whats really going on, is tax payer's dollars are being wasted on people who are stuck in some hole where no one is ever going to see them again. You might as well use tax money as kindling for a fire. Theres no point in keeping them alive if they're convicted murders, rapists, or pedophiles. They might as well just be put down, they won't ever be any use to us again.
Capitol punishment has its upsides and downsides. Like someone elso said, you don't rape a rapeist so why murder a muderer? You tell them its wrong to kill, but yet you kill them? That dosen't really make sense. But then again, they also take up space in prisons, and the prison feed them with tax payers money. Which only worsens our economy.
