Tainted Youth

Are our generations to come really tainted youth? Every year I hear stories in the news and gossip at school about kids younger and younger doing really risky things. Every year you hear of kids doing things such as planning shootings, having sex, and doing drugs before they are even 13 years old. Is there any hope for our future generations--or am I just being paranoid? Your thoughts?

I think that your fears are not unfounded. The terrible influences that some of these kids are getting are a major problem. It is with the way that they are brought up as well. Stupid parents equal stupid kids usually. Some may rise above it, but many will not. These kids see all of the crap on TV and assume that what they are seeing is what all of the world is like. Even the news can be a bad influence on some of them if you think about it. How often to hear about someone saving someones life or just doing a good thing for someone else? Think about all of the terrible things that get posted on the news about people shooting each other, robberies, political scandals. How is this generation ever going to trust the world if all they are shown are the negetive aspects? A good and strong upbringing with good dicipline will allow for some of this youth to turn out better that we hope for. It is a shame though, that these kids think that it is OK ot go out and have sex, do drugs, and knife another kid over a candybar. They just don't understand the idea of being civil.

To be frank, I agree with your thoughts about these kids. They are doing more and more stupid things, and getting themselves and a lot of people hurt. If events continue they way they are with these children, hope will be very hard to find. And the kids themselves aren't the only problem. The parents have a huge responsibility to these children and they are not living up to it. And, in today's world, it is considered wrong to yell at children, discipline them, etc. Now, granted, I'm not saying that parents need to get out a wooden paddle and just start beating their kids, but to let them know that they can't get away from doing the wrong things. So they only get grounded for a day or whatever, instead of going to jail for a couple months.

I feel the influences these kids are exposed to is starting to become an issue. I believe it has a lot to do with the parents and how they are raised. There is no discipline. Parents work all the time and kids are left alone to do whatever they please. I also believe it has to do with a lack of respect. I'm not sure whether kids are acting out because they want the attention or what but it is starting to become a larger problem. Kids need to be taught respect and responsibility. How? I think the discipline level needs to be risen.

There is a lot at steak when young children commit such crimes. The problem is most of them don't have love in their homes. The other half do not have discpline. I could definately say that the rapid growth of fatherless children contributes to this. Also the programs that are on television and the video games that they have now are a great influence on their behavoir. It's sad to say that there may not be any hope at all because to me every generation is worst than the one before it.

I think kids these days have terrible influences in there lives. They either have no possitive role models in there lives or are just not looking towards the correct one's. I really think that what kids see on TV and video games is what goes on in the world. The parents of some of these troubled kids are not acting like role models for there own youth or others around them. They don't punish them enough or hard enough. Actually if they set the guidelines for there kids to begin with then maybe they wouldn't have to punish them so much. As for the future, I don't think anything will change until our culture and media changes.

I feelt that America's youth is tainted. I think that with every generation the age is becoming lower and lower for everyone morals and values. Nowadays, kids are trying drugs, having sex and getting drunk at a very early age. With TV and movies these days, kids are easily influenced by celebrities, which are at least twice their age. Many kids want to be able to do with people are doing over 18. Parents need to be more involved in their children's life and put a stop to the madness.

I agree kids these days are doing dumber and dumber things. sometimes they are influenced, they are trying to fit in, their values are fading more and more. and I dont think your being paranoid you have a really good point.
