Gay marriage has been a hot topic lately. Tell me what you think. 1. Should gay couples be allowed to marry and/or have domestic partnerships or civil unions? 2. Do you think people choose to be gay? Explain. 3. Is being openly gay a sin? Explain.
I don't think that gay people should be allowed to marry. I think that a marriage is defined as the union between a man and a woman. After all, God created Adam and Eve, not Adam and Andy. Also, if we allow gay marriage, what is stopping bigamy and polygamy? I do think that people choose to be gay. I think sometimes it can stem from huge traumatic events of rejection or other things that can change your way of thinking or alter the brain in some way, but mostly I think it is a choice. I think being openly gay in the respect of saying I am gay is not a sin, but participating int he lifestyle and having a relationship with other people of the same gender is a sin. ~Adrianna
yes, gay marriages should be allowed. Because, marriage is about love, and if the person you love just so happens to be the same sex ohhh... well...!! just as long as they are happy.
2.No, and yes. some are born that way, others choose to be that way because they haven't found true love with the other sex.
3.No, If god wanted you Gay thats why he made you gay and he loves us the way we are.otherwise all gay people would probally have AIDS or something to punish them till they day they die.
I don't agree with being gay but I can acept it. If a gay couple wants to be married then I have no problem with it. They are going to live together whether they are married or not. Some people choice to be gay. Some are born with an imbalance in their head that make them think a certain way. Others, I think are tired of being rejected and cling to anyone who will love them. Being gay is considered a sin because marriage and love is between man and woman. It has always been this way and should stay this way. I believe it is a sin. Nicole Mulrooney
I know God believes marraige as a man and a woman- but he also wants us to be happy. So if being happy means a man/man relationship or woman/woman, then that's fine - Gays accept our ways so i think we should accept theirs. Maybe two guys or two girls making out on a park bench isn't something you want to see, so look away.. maybe gays don't want to see a guy and girl either. You don't see them protesting against guy/girl marraiges. God made everyone and if He made gays then we should respect that. Kellie
I think if a gay person wants to get married, they should be able to. Who are we to tell them that they cannot get married? They do not try to tell non-gay people that they cannot get married. We are all PEOPLE, and we are all of God. Marriage as a norm has been between a man and a woman, but we live in a society of the abnormal, so to speak. Love is love, who are we to say whom we can love. I do not think people should “Make-out” in public anyway, but I see no problem in a kiss or hug. Darcy Cekander
I don't think that gay marriages should be allowed. I can't explain why, that's just how I feel. Although, I do find it funny that people can have their dogs married but they won't let homosexual couples get married.
I'm not a gay and I don't know any gay people, so I can't answer your second question.
I don't judge people's actions as being a sin or not. If someone does something that is making them happy, while respecting others and not hurting them, than there is nothing wrong with that. Pat Mahoney
I work and am friends with many gay people and so its hard for me to make a choice about this one. As far as my belief i think that its wrong but its hard for me to stick to that when i know and have been around people who are gay. When i'm around them i don't see them as gay i see them just like any other person, and when i think about it, any person who is in love should be able to get married if they truley love the other person. Who is to tell them they can't get married just because their gay? But then you look at the church side of it and the church says that marriage should be a union between a man and a woman.
I can't really answer your second question...i'm not sure really. Sometimes i feel like people try to be gay for a experiment to see how they like it and then i truly think there are other people who are gay. But who's to know unless your that individual.
To have to sneak around the idea that someone was gay their entire life would be aweful. If that is how they are and how they chose to live their lives then they shouldn't have to hide how they are. If someone views them, being gay, as already a sin then how is is more a sin to be open about it?
i'm not all for gay marrige, but i don't think that people should try and stop gays from having a life. i think that if they feel like getting married and having a family to go for it. their children might be messed up and confused about things, but if they can deal with that than whatever. i really don't think that people just wake up one day and say, "I think I'm going to turn gay." i think it is something that builds up over time and like any person you can't help the way you feel. if they have an attraction for their same sex, i don't think they can help that; it's just the way they feel. i'm not really religous so i don't know whether or not being gay is a sin. i think that if God didn't want gays he shouldn't have made them. ~Ashley Ross
I do not believe that gay marriages should be allowed. Marriage is supposed to be a union between a man and a woman, which is why God created Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve.
However, I don't believe that people choose to be gay. I believe that they are just attracted to the same sex. I don't think that being openly gay is a sin, but when you begin an intimate relationship with the same sex, that is a sin.
I do not think gays should be allowed to get married. The reason for this is because god made man and women for a reason. Only man and women can make a child and no other way is possible. Sure There are implants and other things to get a women Pregnant but it still needs a man's seman. so a woman with a woman and a man with a man goes against nature itself and should not be practised or allowed. With this in mind I think that gay people choose to be and have fallen into temptation. So the line that they say "I think i was made gay." Is false everyone is made staight and they choose themselves to be gay.
I do not believe in gay marriage. I agree with Alex when he says its a union between a man and a woman. We were made to reproduce, and its hard to do that if it is two people of the same sex. If everyone intended on being gay, do you think that human population would decrease? Who's to say.
I believe that some people choose to be gay and that some people can't help it. Sometimes I wonder what triggers it, like, maybe if it is a male, maybe they had a lack of male adults in their life to look up to, or maybe they had a traumatic event. I'm not sure. I do believe, like many others, that being gay is not a sin until it is acted upon.
1. I feel that anyone that wants to marry someone they love should be allowed to. I don't think we have the right to dictate who can and can not be married or at least have a civil union recognized by all states.
2. I don't think whether or not a person is born or chooses to be gay is irrelevant, because however they got that way they are and no one on this earth has the right to to judge them, because it is no different than a person born into a particular race or a person that chooses to pierce every inch of their body.
3.I think seeing someone being openly gay should be a learning lesson to remind all of us to proud of who we are, because if they can stand up to all the hatred and criticism they we to should stand up for whatever we believe in. Jamar Brown
Homosexuality has been demonstrated in all higher forms of life, so it IS natural, at least in the sense that it is "of nature." We can compare this to another behavior, such as eating your young. This is a natural behavior in some higher forms of life, but not all. Fortunately (or unfortunately depending or your point of view), this is not a natural behavior in humans. Some people naturally have homosexual urges, and I cannot find any good reason that society should require them to repress those urges as they don't hurt anyone else by expressing themselves in this way.
Let me first start by saying that I think this issue shouldn't be a matter of public debate and certainly it should NEVER be a political issue in this country. This is a personal choice and nothing more. If we are to be a free society that freedom must start with the ability to choose who we spend time with, fall in love with, and yes even marry. I think that the fact that same sex marriages are illegal anywhere in this country to be an assault on the American way of life itself. What ever happened to the idea I may not agree with your beliefs, but I will defend to the death your right to believe it. This holds true for our actions as well as long as these actions do not endanger anyone else unwillingly.
As to what causes homosexuality, I believe genetics as well as environmental conditions both play a large part in defining one's sexual preferences.
Personally I have no preference on same sex relationships or marriage; what other people choose to do with their life is no one else's business, and it should stay that way.
I dont think that gay couples should be allowed to marry. I think that if you get married you should be infront of god. I know people get married in Vegas or at a courthouse, but thats just for the government. I think people choose to be gay, I think its something wrong with their minds. God didnt want men to be with men or women to be with women. I dont think that being openly gay is a sin. All humans should love one another. Its just having a relationship with the person of the same gender that is a sin. Aaron Royse
I think that whatever people choose to do with their lives is up to them. I understand that God meant for the bond of marriage to be between a man and a woman. However, he also wants us to be happy. Many people are against gay marriage and marriages where people of different races is wrong just because it's rare. So I guess what I'm getting to is that I am not against gay marriage. I am pretty much neutral. I think that some people choose to be gay perhaps based on previous experiences with the opposite sex that may have been pretty traumatic for them. I don't think that being openly gay is a sin. They are being true to themselves, which is possibly the hardest thing to achieve in life.
Alrighty, Michael, In case you didn't know, I am Catholic. Our religion frowns upon gay marraiges. That's saying it nicely I guess. I personally don't mind gay people, I guess. I don't know whether they choose to be gay or not. I think much rejection or tragedy can lead to things like that. I don't think being openly gay is a sin. i don't think people should be judged, although my religion frowns upon it, once again. Afterall it's Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve. SO hey I didn't really help you here at all, but it looks like you have plenty of responses. Rebecca
I do not care for gay people, but if they want to do their thing in closed doors and be married U have no problem with that, just don't show it around me. If they want to be marrried and be legal that os fine just don't make a real big deal about it. I think people choose to be gay, if you are you probly just know and choose to be gat. I have no idea whether it is a sin or not. Jamie Brooks
