nuclear warfare

Is the world facing another imminent threat of nuclear warfare? Who do you think will be next to use it, and why? How do you think one would justify themselves in doing so? When will it happen? Where will it happen? How would such actions affect you? How would the outcome from such actions affect the world? How would such actions affect America? Has the media influenced your opinion on this issue? Do you think the media will try to sway your opinion if such actions occurred?

If you have any questions, please e-mail me at yankeeabelincoln@hotmail.com and I'll answer them the best I can.
Thank you,
Pat Mahoney

Wow. Quite a lot of questions here, but I'll do my best. A nuclear threat is very possible within the next decade. Likely, North Korea will be the breeding grounds of nuclear weapons. Kim Jong Il is beginning to feel like the little dog in the pound. With the U.S. so militarily advanced, he wants some respect for his arsenal. He will justify use of nukes by saying the U.S. is becoming too powerful and trying to monopolize on the world. He will try to attack our country but will likely fail as military officials gain better advances and information from spies. The media has and will not change my opinion, though those less stable in their beliefs will undoubtedly be stirred. Of course the media will try to brainwash (perhaps too strong a word) Americans so they stay tuned in to their networks, but just keep the channel on Fox News and everything will be alright.

Everyone is facing danger from nuclear warfare. I cannot say who will be the next to use it, but I think we should all be on alert. There is no justification for using nuclear warfare, it not only kills, and it changes the world. Losing any family or friends would be devastating to anyone, losing plants and animals would be deadly to everyone else. Media has not altered my opinions on this matter; I once lived the military life. That changes your ideas and opinions on many things. Darcy Cekander

I don't really know to much about nuclear warfare, but from what I have heard, I thnk it is coming soon. With all the hate in the world today, someone is going to take that step eventually. I think it is likely to happen in the next 20 - 50 years, but agin, I don't know very much about what is going on. It would be very devastaing to everyone and would definitely change life as we know it. I don't think anyone can justify themselves to use it because of how extreme it is, but there are people out there everyday that do things I would never be able to justify. I can't say the media has influenced my opninion becuase I don't pay very much attention to it. You would be lucky to catch me watching the weather channel maybe once every two weeks and that is about it. ~Adrianna

i can't answer the questions about who is an imminent threat of nuclear warfare or who will use it next. I don't feel like anyone could justify using nuclear weapons. it would affect millions of people and would do far more bad than good. I don't know how it would affect me personally because i don't know what would happen as far as my loved ones and what not. I'm sure i would have someone close to me who was affected and that would in turn affect me but i can't ever really know until it happens.

i think that the world would only hurt from it, it would kill plants and animals and distroy land and places so that we wouldn't be able to go to those places until the readiation was gone.

I think if there was a war that started, the United States would most likely get involved and that of course would affect all the citizens.
Sorry i coudlnt' answer allt he questions i don't know relaly anything about this sort of thing. I hope i kind've gave you an ok answer.

Yes, I do think think that the world is facing another imminent threat of nuclear warfare. I think that the next will be North Korea, because they sound like they are a little trigger happy. Right now I dont think that the actions will affect me. My family and I all live in a small town, and I dont think that they are gunning for central Illinois. The media is affecting my influence a lot, because thats all I have to go off of right now. I do think that media will try to sway everyones opinion that is willing to listen. They just put that affect on everything that is newsworthy. Aaron Royse

I feel that nuclear weapons will not destroy the earth. The reason I feel this way is because God built a beautiful place for his people to live. He did not build the earth to be destroyed. The people will be destroyed. These nuclear bombs that are made will probably not have a chance to be launched.

I am completely ignorant to any information about nuclear warfare and its potential effect on the United States. If any threats were acted upon, America would be effected greatly. The media never really changes my view on most things. I haven't heard very much about nuclear warfare, or haven't paid enough attention to it. If I heard something from the media that ended up being true about the issue, I would probably pay more attention to it.

I don't much at all about nuclear warfare. If I did know more about it, I'm sure I'd have some smart answer to spit out, but I don't. I'm not sure who is going to be the next use it, or when or where it will happen. Whoever does use it probably will never justify themselves just because I think there could be other options besides using nuclear warfare. I don't know much about it, but I don't like it. And I think if someone were to use it, it would change the world significantly. I know the media hasn't influenced my opinion on this issue because I don't know much about it so it would be hard for the media to have influenced me. The media probably would try to sway my opinion if nuclear warfare occured, just because the media always seems to be able to do that in one way or another.

I'm sorry that I don't know more on this issue.

This is a very loaded question that I have very little knoweledge on, but I'll try my best. I feel that if a nuclear attack was going to happend it would be promted by either N.Korea or Iran. I feel that these attacks would be against the U.S. I feel this way because the U.S. has invaded so many countries to "help out" or just show it's muscle that one of these countries will see the opportunity and show theirs.

I don't know much about nuclear warfare. But, I don't let the media influence me in any way. The media never really tells the whole truth on anything including nuclear warfare. But, if American did end up in a nuclear war we would all be greatly effected by it,including the enviroment. Nicole Mulrooney

I apologize for my lack of knowledge on this subject. I'm not sure who will be the next to use it. I don't have any idea of when it will happen either. The use of nuclear warfare on America would change our country probably. We would become more careful and cautious. The media will always be there trying to sway one idea or another. They will probably be able to sway people's opinions on this topic just because I think many people don't know much about this topic. Sorry that I couldn't help you more, but I think you picked a good topic that people should definetly know more about.

nucler warfare ia totally a waste of time and energy. i don't understand what more people want, or why they have to rebel back and forth with wars agianst eachother.

who knows where they will strike next? hopefully nowhere, but thats highly unlikely. i don't know much more to say except, "can't we all just get along!"

I am more against nuclear warfare because it will probably end up killing more civilians than "bad people" - but if it would finally end a war then I would lean a little more towards it. I just think of how devastating it would be if something like that came here and millions of our innocent civilians were killed.
I think the only way to justify using nuclear warfare would be to just finally end a war (like WWII did when they dropped "Little Boy" and "Big Man" over Japan) Then, people claimed that the number of casualties on both sides was reduced by hastening the end of the war and others claimed that it was an unneceessary act of mass killing. So I guess you could look at the number of deaths from both sides. In the end, i am still more against it than for it.
Sorry i couldn't really answer your question- i don't know a lot about it.

Okay, definitely don't know much about this! If nuclear warfare does break out, I think it will affect most people. Surely, the US will try to intervene, which could lead to nuclear warfare in the United States. This would surely affect me for many reasons. My family members could be killed from the attack. It may also destroy our homes, schools, and many other important buildings. I think if nuclear warfare does break out, it would be a much different world. Vegetation would die where the bombs went off, people would be forced to stay away from the excessive amounts of radiation, and we would be in fear of another attack everyday.

I do not Think that we are going to have a nuclear war. This is because the country that uses it first will be at a big disadvantage. That is because all the major countries of the world would take immedate action on dealing with that threat. If one does go off it would probably be caused by a middle east country or north korea. This of course would be dangerous for them because they are close to china and if china gets threatened they will take immedate action to crush the opposition. China alone would be enough to take out the country that fired the missile but America and NATO would also be in this sprawl so the country that fired would be in big trouble and have no possible way of winning. So to answer this question completely I do not think there will be a nuclear war but their is a possibility that their is going to be a world war 3 but no nuclear bombs.

I think that it is possible that a threat of a nuclear warfare will be present in the future. I really don't know much about the nuclear warfare situation, so I really don't know who would be the next to use it. I think it will probably happen within the next ten years. I think the threat, as long as it is a threat, of nuclear warfare won't affect me much. I know I should, but I really don't pay attention to what goes on in the world. I think that if there was a threat, America would stick it's nose into it and get our country involved. I don't think that the media influenced my opinion, I just think that history repeats itself. I think the media will try and sway people to one way of thinking when the situation comes up. I hope this helps you. Sorry I don't know enough information about the nuclear threat situation.

No i don't think anyone will use nuclear weapons in the near future because nobody currently has the guts to use them knowing what kind of problems would come about for them and the destruction that would be forced on to them. Obviously people would be affected and i would be affected because i want to see the least amount of damage done throughut the world, but that will never come true. The actions could be affected by somebody attacking others or use for no particular reason. America might feel obligated to help out another country or if the attacks are on use we would certainly fight back. I watch the news alot and the coverage on everything overseas, but it wouldn't influence my decision.
