As we all know U.S. Senator Barack Obama has been elected into the 44th presidency of the United States of America. But, he doesn't move into the oval office tomorrow. How do you think the transistion into the White House will go for Obama? How will the shift of power from George W. Bush transfer over to Obama? Will the transition move smoothly from the Republican party to the Democratic Party? Will Obama have enough time to prepare himself for handling one of the biggest financial crises in American history? All of this is to be done in less than 3 months when Obama is to be innaugurated on January 20, 2009.

I fully believe that Barack Obama has gotten himself in over his head. The transition into the White House is going to be rough, mainly becuase he is a black man under the age of 50. The shift of power, while it may seem like it will go smoothly, will more than likely be rough as well. Obama is entering office after eight years of complete and total chaos. During the Bush administration, the U.S. unofficially went to war, the stock market completely tanked, and the American people lost a lot of faith in the government as a whole. I have every hope that the transition from a Republican government to a Democratic government goes smoothly, but again, the likelihood of that is very slim. Obama doesn't have as much time to prepare himself as would be preferred to fix the biggest financial crisis in American history, but I, once again, have every faith that he can pull it off. Though I didn't vote for Obama, I think he is going to make a wonderfully charismatic president, and I wish him all the luck in the world.

Im not too big on politics which means I really dont know what has went on(sad to say). After seeing a black man elected as president, I think anything is possible.

Honestly I think it was a mistake for him to become president right now. It’s not his time to shine. I think that people were clouded by the color of his skin not what he would actually be capable of. Obama wants change, but how can we have change with so much in ruin. I think that McCain should have been President first; he has been through war and has many years of experience. Then, Obama could have come in and I think that it would have been smoother for him that way. And the ideals that he wants would be able to be made clear. I really do hope I am wrong with the way I feel, but I know that Obama has one hell of a road to travel.

I'm hoping that President elect Obama has a relatively smooth transition into office but there is a lot of problems that Bush is leaving Obama to fix and three months is not enough time to prepare for those problems and what solutions will fix the problems. I feel that when he gets into office that everyone is going to expect him to make tons of changes and fix all the problems and theyre going to want those changes to happen overnight which isnt going to be a realistic expectation so there might be some critisism. I have a lot of confidence in Obama and i hope in time he will be able to turn the country around but i don't expect him to do it anytime soon maybe in his term we will see some change but i dont see anything happening fast.
I don't think Obama has time to straighten up the mess George W. bush has put us in, but i do feel he will get the blame for what ever goes wrong.If he don't fix the propblem he will become the problem. I feel if given a chance he can make the country better it's just going to take a few years,and America doesn't have a few years to wait.
The transition will go pretty well. Bush has already agreed to get this train moving quickly and smoothly. So with the cooperation, Obama will phase into the white house quite nicely. As for the party transfer, that too will go over smoothly. Obama reaches across the parties for bi-partisanship. So the shift isn't going to be completely democratically viewed. And the time is a little short to get everything prepared, but the Obama administration has hit the ground running assembling his team. They've declared not to make the mistake Clinton did procrastinating on making the team, plus there wasn't too big of a crisis then.
I think Obama will do just fine. How many of our other Presidents have had a transition problem? Why would Obama be any different?
I think he has a rough road ahead of him because the country is in such poor shape. But this would be true for anyone that took over the office and was new.

I haven't followed much about the presidential race and never really do. I do know that this one is different and I am part of history. Barack Obama is the first African American to become the United States President. I think he is less experienced than McCain and may not be able to offer as much change as he says. I sure hope he can because the economy is in the 2nd biggest slump it's ever been in. I don't know about Republicans or Democrats either but it doesn't really matter because the government isn't going to let just anybody be the president. The canidates have to have government background and know how on just about everything to be successful as president. The transition will most likely be rough, when is it ever easy? I hope that people chose him because he will be a good president and not his color. This shouldn't be an issue on what color people are but lets face it, it is. People voted for him because he is African American and people didn't vote for him because he is African American. It doesn't matter to me what color he or she may be. They should do their job to the best of their ability. I know I don't want to be the president and try to run a country. All of the presidents of the past have done a splendid job or they would have never been elected. With that said, I think Barack Obama will do a fine job as president.

I've never been really big on politics. The whole thing just makes my head spin when I try to make sense of any of it. But I will say this: "Obama has very, very large shoes to fill." The US is done gone sunk into debt, the economy is about to bottom out, we are at war even though people don't like to admit it, and the stock market it very unstable. He seems to have promised change, I just hope that he realizes that a lot of people are going to be expecting to see immediate results.

The transition into the White House for President-Elect Barack Obama will be a normal one. Nothing new there. Obama has already started his presidential plans for the future and is already working with Democrats and Republicans to resolve our problems. The power has already been shifted, Bush is a lame duck. Obama has been preparing for this for the past couple of years.I think that Obama is the right man for the job and he will provide a stable foundation for our nation to resolve its problems. But people need to realize that it will take time.
I think that the transition into the White House will be smooth for Obama. I think that he has had some time to prepare himself for the move and he is up for the challenge. I don't necessarily think that the transfer of of power will be as smooth. I think that a lot of people are set in their ways and this will make things somewhat difficult, but I do have faith that enough people want a change for the better and are willing to give support. The financial crisis has been going on for a while so I think Obama has already been preparing himself to deal with it, but I'm not sure if he will be able to do as much for the crisis as he thinks; but I won't give up hope.
I feel Obama is ready for this transition and I feel the country will breathe a sigh of relief. Its going to be hard for him but he's ready. Doors will open up for this country when Bush leaves office. I just hate that what ever happens in the next few years he's going to get the blame.
I think the bigger issue is not wether or not Obama can handle the white house but whether America and all of our major crisis can handle Obama. With the major economic problems and our ecomony in shambles, and an "unoffical war" on our hands, it is not time for change. It is time for the American work for to go to work!
The American public has no faith in the government at all. This is not time for a controversial persidient simply because if he fails he will ruin the chance that there will ever be another black President and also the ideas of a woman president. I feel like he is setting himself up for failure.
while there is a chance that all could go well, I honeslty believe that ALL of the Odds are against him. I pray that I am wrong, and hope for the best, but only time will tell.

I think the transition will go fine. Hopefully things will start to get better for us American's although it will take some time for things to start running more smoothly, but I think that we have a president who can relate to a lot of our struggles and is more compassionate then Bush.

I really don't know what to say here. I don't really follow politics because to me it is just a buch of crap anyway. Just one person cannot influence politics that much to where it changes everything. I think I would be more interested in the topic if it was based upon more than it is now. I could really care less who was elected into presidency because politicians to me are just people who tell you what you want to here, unless put into a situation where they have to tell you the whole truth and even then, beat around the bush

i'm not really familiar with the "switching process" from president to president, but will it really be that different from how it's been in the past? it's happened times in the past and there's never been any major problems that i recall. so he's black, that won't make it any harder or easier for him to move in. as for the democratic part of it, we've had changes like this in the past.
i'm not exactly the biggest obama fan ever, but i think this country's making too big a deal of this. i think the transition will go smoothly. there's no reason why it shouldn't.
and i've listened to some of his interview's and it seems to me that the senator is fully ready to take his position as president. just hope the country is ready for him to take his position.
To be honest, I don't anything about this subject. I hate watching the news and politics. All I know is that Obama will make history for being the first African American to be president. And what I heard from people was that hopefully they don't try killing him like Martin Luther King, because then this country will have a lot of racism problems.

iu think that he will have a problem transtitoning to the white house b/c he is black. well we aint really going to know how the real transtion is b/c the media wont allow it. everything will run smooth according to the media. obama was too worried about his campaign when they were dealing with america. john mcain was actually trying to help the country and win the presidency
