Should everyone receive free medical care?

Should everyone receive free medical care? If so is there anyone that shouldn't receive free medical care? Or is there a limit to how much should be free? If medical care is free how should it be paid for? Keep in mind that if medical care is free for everyone then somebody is going to end up paying for it. Maybe only children should receive medical care for free, or maybe it depends on how serious of a risk it will be for the person if they can't get the medical care they need.

Thanks for your input.

No I don't think everyone should receive free medical care because their are people who can afford it, and how will doctors get paid? But I don't believe no one should have to die because they didn't have insurance.

No I don't think it should be free. But I do feel that some of these doctors have rediculouse prices and I do feel that the prices should be lowered on alot of treatments.

I think that they should have free childcare. Once you turn eighteen I think that it will be your responsibility to get health insurance. I also think they need to lighten the restrictions on health insurance. My mother was in a bicycle accident when she was nine and ever since then she has seizures. Because of those seizures no one will give her insurance and if they will it is so unbelievably expensive she can’t afford it. I also believe that doctors get paid way too much for there services. What happened from the days where the doctor was paid by giving them chickens and was happy with that, to giving them thousands for a small infection or cold and they try and suck you for even more.

I believe that free medical care should depend on your annual income compared w/ your household size, and for children it should be free till the age of 18. There are plenty of countries out there that have very good free medical w/ well paid doctors. And if not free health care then at least lower the outrageous prices of these medical bills. Hundreds of dollars just to go in and have a cold diagnosed? Come on people! And the rate of malpractice suites are going threw the roof! People are no longer becoming doctors to help other people now adays, they are doing so for the money. W/ the free medical care system doctors are paid on how well they do their jobs, not how many patients they see. Look up an online video called "Sicko," it talks about this very thing.

Anyone who can afford medical care should pay for it, because its a lot of people who cant. The people who does receive free medical care should earn it unless you are really just disabled or mentally ill. For example, I continue to receive free medical care because I am continuing on my education.

The United States should have a program in play like Canada and other countries have.

In Canada a family of three with an income of under $35,000 has to pay $65 a month for medical care. This includes health care, doctor visits and hospital stays, it also includes vision, dental and chiropractor visits. You do have to pay your precription costs, but keep in mind they are a lot cheaper there than here. If you make under $25,000 per year your insurance is free. Once you hit the age of 25, you go off your parents insurance and carry your own.

As a young person you are not fully aware that things can go wrong. As you get older, they do and in my case I cannot get insurance because of a pre-existing condition. So, when I go in for any kind of treatment, I have to pay the piper. And believe you me, this is very expensive, most of the time I will skip my appointments, because I cannot afford to pay for them. Which is not a good thing.

Everyone has the right to seek help when they are sick. Doctors get paid in Canada and people stay healthier, so I say the US needs to get a program into motion.

Everyone should have to pay for medical care or atleast a certain amount. Somebody has to pay for it or else it couldn't be free. Medical care should also be set price that everybody could afford so people don't have to skip out on it because they can't afford it. Other than that, i haven't checked into it much because im in college and still on my parents plans.

I believe that if a person is able to afford medical services, then they should pay for them. However, for those that can't afford it, I believe that there should be clinics that accomodate to them. As a former ward of the state, my foster parents (that later became my adoptive parents) were given a medical card that allowed me to visit the doctor and the state of Illinois picked up the tab. This card is often given to parents that do not make enough money or do not have insurance. I think that this is a wonderful practice. As great as it is, I think it should be made more available for those that cannot afford proper medical treatment.

I feel that everyone should receive free medical care that can't afford it other wise. People that have the money to afford medical care more than likely already have it so that shouldn't have to change. As for a limit, onlt the nessesary should be free like doctors visits, surgerys that need to be done, etc... If its unessesary then they should have to pay of it. I believe in Canada they have free medical care for everyone and the way they pay for it is there taxes so i would assume that's how we would pay for it.

Ithink that in certain situations free health care can be a great advantage. Say if an underaged woman is having a baby that was concieved against her will. In this situation it should be free to either have the baby or abort it. But this would not need to be an open to option to a woman that may want to get plactic surgery. The free health care policy should not cover this because it's not an uncontrollable circumstance. In all it would depend on the situation if the person should get free health care.

If there was away to still pay the doctors good, then I would say , free heath care for everyone! Just to walk in the emergency doors cost so much, you want to fall out soon you walk in. Hospitals charge now or later. They mess up your credit with bills they come up with. For a hospital to banage you up, will end up being a few years worth of your salary. I feel everyone should be entitled to good free health care if the goverment would just pay the doctors.

I think the best solution would be a sliding scale based on your income. the more you make the more you pay. So those who cannot afford it will have most costs paid for making it virtually free, while those who make more money can foot the bill. you could even base it on poeple's income taxes. It gives everyone an affordable plan, and it prevents those from being without healthcare. that is never a good situaiton. I believe that everyone should have healthcare and that this is an issue that needs dire attention.

I think that there should be a set system for patients who recieve free medical care. Although there already kind of is one, I believe that there are still somethings in it that should be fixed. I think free medical care should be based upon just how much the parents income is, along with all there bills, and how much money exactly is left at the end of the month. Many people take advantage of the free benefits, while others still struggle just as much as the people receiving the benefits. There have almost always been flaws in the way that "free money" having been decided upon. Mostly, the people who receive the benefits are ones who have more children and a very low income. I don't believe that these are the only people struggling, but they seem to be the people who receive most of those benefits.

I think that only the ones that can't pay should get free med. care because most of the tome the non very wealthy people don't go to the doc. because they think its too expensibe and so they don't want to be in dept all thier lives. I mean, they should only charge a certain amount dependign on their income. As in for the rich and wealthy, they should get charged faily expensive so that the money that they pay would go to the docs., and its also good because then it wouldn't hurt for them to pay a lot of money they don't know what to spend it on.

If it were up to me, everyone would receive free medical care if they needed it. If their income or situation prohibits them from being able to pay for medical care, then there should be some way for them to get it. Noone should go sick just because they can't pay for help. Thats not right.

I don't think that medical care should be free. I think that assistance should be provided to those who need it ,for medical care, and those who can afford it should pay. I don't think that anyone should be denied care because of their ability to pay or not.

If everyone got free medical care then taxes would most likely go up. How else would the hospital and doctors get paid so they can pay off their ten years of college they had to go through to stitch your cut up. I know that medical care is expensive but its something you got to have and it must be paid for.

I think you should have free medical care for children until they are 18. Hospitals make enough money they could make do with giving free medical care to children, if not maybe a tax?

Anonymous said...

no, there are already enough people that get free medical care. many people in the middle class can afford health insurance or it is provided with there job. i think if these people have to have major medical work done and cant afford there part of the bill the goverment should assist in someway. these people are the ones who pay taxes they should get use of it!

Medical care is hard to define. If it was free to all who's paying. That's taxes being raised to support the whole nations medical care. How could it possibly be free to all? People have to work for everything in this country and I do believe that medical care should be one. It shouldn't be priced the way it is but it is definitely needed to be paid for. Who would pay the doctors? How would clinics and hospitals stay open if everything was free? Medical care can't be free, but a lower price would be nice.
