Cardinal Sins?

As Americans, do we need to learn and do a better job of not breaking the cardinal sins? (Lust, Gluttony, Greed, Sloth, Wrath, Envy, Pride)

Do you think this will make the United States a stronger and more unified country?

If everyone did follow them, do you think the stereotypes of Americans would change? and how?

What would the United States be like if everyone did follow the Cardinal Sins and didnt break them so offten?

I dont know about all the cardinal sins because im one of the least christain people you will ever meet. but i do believe in being responsible which is what all the cardinal sins fall under in my opinion. taking responsiblilty for your self and your body and having control. people do seem to be to willing to just do what they want these days and thats probably a bad thing. but like i said, if people would just own up for what they've done and quit trying to place the blame on somebody else america would be much better off.
i dont know if thats the kind of answer you were looking for though haha.

It is those things that cause progression in this world. It's the truth sadly. If we weren't greedy, we would have never settled this country. If we didn't have wrath, we wouldn't retaliate on attacks. If we didn't show pride we wouldn't be unified in the least. If we didn't show envy we would never advance in technology and health and in military or economics. So without them, no we we not be a stronger nor more unified as long as other countries partake in cardinal sins. However, if we could wipe cardinal sins from everyone's life, we would be a better country inside an even better world.

I think we do need to make a concious effort to not break these sins. This would make the USA a better place.I believe that one of the major problems with this country is that weve all but abandoned the reigious beliefs that this country was founded on.Im no religious fanatic but if people would just try a little harder to not stray from the core priciples of life that I think God intended us to live by ,the world would be a better place .Let he who has not sinned cast the first stone

Yes we most definitely do need to quit breaking the seven deadly sins and do as God has instructed us. It is pretty simple to me, "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." For instance "Gluttony" would you want to be hungry? No you wouldn't. So instead of turning away, help those less fortunate out. They are humans too, they just need someone to give them a break and to care.

I think that the only way the United States is going to become stronger and more unified is if everyone starts working together and caring about their fellow man. Quit worrying about having the fanciest house and car and the lastest in material things and worry about one another. If everyone would do this wouldn't the world be a fabulous place to be?

Other countries opinions of Americans is pretty harsh. I believe that if we followed those more for an extent of time our general opinion would be better. However, we can't all be perfect, so trying is just an option.

Not everyone is going to try. There are people who don't believe in God, and there are people who do what they want and don't care about other peoples opinions, but we can't force everyone to follow these rules and regulations.

As Americans we think we have the right to do what ever we choose, yet most people who are God fearing people would say yes, well the rest of the would most likely not.
In think that we all do one or more of the cardinal sins daily and don’t even know. I read a blog about this and someone said that with out theses sins we would not be here. I am not sure that would be so bad, there are so many things that people can say look this is good but sin is not one of them. Yes ambition is great but to step on your brother to get what you want is not, to stab him to take his girl is not. Yet in the world we live in if you don’t have the take what you want attitude then people will try to step on you.
As far as making us stronger I don’t think so, we as a country are too divided to come together on such a simple thing as moral sins, what you think and I think may be a million different digress of sin, evil , what have you feel to call it.
Will this change the U.S. stereotypes I am not sure I don’t think we could do this but if we could I am most assured that people would try to take us over? If we keep the cardinal seven I am most sure that we would be like more of the Garden of Eden.

Im a strong believer in peace. Will we ever see it? If we shall please believe me the reign after peace will be the end of this world and the beging of a new world which means life is a cycle it repeats, so the same way we came in the world will be the same way if not worse than before relating 2 our sinful ways... classmate ..T ware

I think that people in other countries as well as America need to work on the cardinal sins. But Americans especially have a reputation of being greedy, lazy, and proud. I talked to a girl who was visiting from Germany who said that she expected to eat nothing but McDonald's here, and she was surprised that we ate at home most of the time. So obviously, some of the stereotypes of America are a little extreme. I think that if everyone in America started performing the cardinal sins less often and donating more to the poor, then other countries would see another side of America. Also, America would become stronger because we would have less homeless or needy people.

i think that yes, we do need to do a better job in not breaking these sins. however, i completely agree with tyler on the fact that without these sins, we wouldn't be who we are today, as a counry that is. we need a little bit of greed to get what this country needs. we need a little bit of pride to show for oursleves. we need a little bit of envy to get even with the people that try to destroy our country. these things in moderation are fine.

however! let's not get too carried away with these cardinal sins. i think that's what's ruining our country. i think what we need is a little of each and this country will be good to go. i do think that if everyone completely followed the sins, it would be too much of an extreme change for us. as i always say, everything is fine in moderation!

yes we do need to do a better job of controling what we do on daily basis. but we cannot get rid of these cardinal sins easily, these sins have worked there into the society in modern times. if you look around, most of these sins are what the economy is based on. everyone wants more money and usual do just about anything to get it.

I definately think we do. I don't think we hold ourselves accountable like i think we should. We don't show that love that we were meant to show to eachother. I think if we followed these better we would become a stronger unified nation. And yes again, people would change the opinion of americans. We get shit all the time about being many of these things that we shouldn't be. so if we weren't lustful, greedy, prideful, and so on, then they would have no reason to think we are. And i think that america would just be a more loving place. People wouldn't have so much hate towards each other.

I definitely think that American people need to learn and do a better job of not breaking the cardinal sins. I think that everyone living better more honest lives then of course the US will become a stronger more unified country. People today have become very corrupt, in my opinion people have become very greedy and only care about themselves they will do whatever it takes to get ahead and do not care who they hurt along the way. If people start to actually care about other people and how their actions affect other people the country will become a much better place!

chOf course if everyone did better about following the Cardinal Sins the country would be more unified. But i think that is an unrealistic vision. If everyone followed the cardinal sins then Americans would be looked at as role models. If a whole country could become that unified and strong, then they truly would be the greatest country in the world. I think that the USA would be more of a crazy government controlled nation. No one would rebel or bring about change. They government would completely rule the lives and souls of the nation.

I think that we should as Americans do better at abiding by the cardinal sins. Over all, if America does follow these, we will become stronger as a country. I think that there will still be stereotypes in America because everyone is different. There would deffinetly be less hatered and crime. There would be a lot more people in shape and not as lazy in the U.S. if these were followed.

Everyone sins. Sin is in human nature. But it shouldn't be Americans as a whole. Sin is a personal choice and a slightly more religious choice. So it should be left up to the individual, not the population.

its everyones choice to break a sin or not. if your not religious then who cares. you cant to a better job unless everyones on the same boat. we live life by sinning so how are you going toi fix that?

i think that epople learn from there mistakes the best. there aint nothing better then figureing stuff out on your own. i dont think that everyone following the cardinal sins will change the steretype of ameirca. b/c no matter what america does some one and some where in the world poeple will either say they agree or dont. i think the undited states would be a very laid back kinda country. more and more people would be getting off with stuff just b/c there nice. Ameirca could never go through with this.
