It all depends. If they have to have a license and go in for check ups every week, then I'm for it. I think they should be taxed, because we all know prostitutes make more than enough to live on.

i think that prostitution should be okay only if they're getting check ups regularly. making std's more of a problem isn't going to help anyone. in that case - every prostitute should have a flat rate and be taxed. if it was legal it would technically be their profession.

Im against legalizing prostitution because it would raise the birth count dramaticaly. How would the government monitor the age group doing this. Younger teens would be out on the streets and not getting a career because they would be getting paid for pleasure. Who would pass that up to go and sit behind a desk or pour concrete?

i guess protituionwould not be a bad thing if it was more of a business than nastys sitting on a corner selling their bodys. personally the thought of that is quite discusting, but im sure it would be a good living. The check ups would have to be a must also! depending on how they took the situation of std's it could bring the rate of them up or down. bob burnard

I am not agaisnt it or for it really. It has no real effect to me. The only way i feel though if it was legalized if there were laws/rules and other things controlling it. It would be like a profession so they should have simlar laws and rules to keep them under control just like any other business.

I do not have a problem with legalized prostitution. I don't agree with it from a moral standpoint but if people want to live that kind of lifestyle then that is completely up to them. In order to regulate it and make sure 15 year olds are not running around selling their bodies, people should have to get licensed or something along that line. If this were to ever come into effect it should definitely be taxed. You can imagine how much that would help the economy being that prostitution is such a high dollar business.

IF prostitution were to be legalized i would be for it only because we could stop spending money on the housing of prostitutes in our nations jails. Law enforcement can focus on more serious crimes than a crime that both sides agree to. The only that could be hurt are the ones involved no one outside would be effected

i think that legalizing prostitution would bring too many health problems from std's aquired from having sex with such a wide range of people.

i dont think it would matter if it was legalized because either way people are going to do it no matter what. but if it was legal i think that all the nesesary precautions should be taken and it should be taxed.

It really doesnt effect me one way or another if it were legalized but i do not see how it is a crime in the first place, if you look at any job out there you are selling some kind of service so why is that different than selling the service of sex it shouldnt be. If it were to be legalized then you know the government would find some way to tax the shit out of it.

I think that if it were legalized and taxed then it wouldnt be looked down upon as much. In other countries where it is legal it is just like another job. Most people wouldnt think of doing it but it is a way to make money, good money so why wouldnt some people do it?

I don't believe that it should be illegal. It is leagal in Nevada...just not in Las Vegas. In fact they have brothels just out side of city limits. There are regulations and rules that keepit "clean". For instace, Once a woman leaves the brothel for any amount of time regardless of how short she must go to the doctor and have a check up before she is allowed to "work" again. This ensures the safety to all brothel customers. it also allows the government to tax each brothel and that ensures that all income is being taxed. This keeps the prosittues off the street wheere chidlren would be succeptable. It works in Nevada why not nation wide!

Okay this one is a tough one, because I do not believe in prostitution. I believe that the woman/man should be counseled. But that is only my opinion.

If the US were to legalize prostitution than I think they should follow closely the laws of England and Wales.

It must be in private, no public street solicitation. They only allow individual providers not brothels but can freely advertise unless it is too graphic. It is illegal for a potential client to solicit persistently, or solicit from a motor vehicle. Child prostitution is specifically illegal for the person paying where a child is under the age of 18. Controlling prostitution for gain is an offence, banning pimping.

Everything else is taxed in the US why should prostitution be any different? And that is if it were legal.

is this really even a question? heck no this shouldn't be legalized in illinois, or in any state for that matter. prostitution is wrong. it should stay that way.

people do it and get away with it. now that's a problem worth talking about.

I am not for Illinois having prostitution. I think it would make the state appear trashy and respectable. There is a world wide problem with std's and i think that prostitution is a great way of spreading std's. In Illinois, you would have a higher chance of contracting an std i would think if prostitution were legalized. Also i would have a problem seeing young teenage girls out on the street selling themselves. I think its morally wrong and shouldnt be done.

leagalizing prostitution would mean a lot more prostitutes out there trying to make a dollar. girls would graduate high school and go staight to the streets. the birth rate would go up, then when the prostitutes pregant, she isnt going to work. then the government would be paying for her baby to be born.

i dont care whether its legal or not. i dont think i would be a part of it eithor way. if thats what you need to get your jollys off then do it.

first of all if you need pay to get some you have issues in the first place. so prostituion is for shallow people that can get do anything with there own life.
