War Against Terrorism

The War Against Terrorism How has the war affected our nation? Do you think that after September 11, where some three thousand were killed, that we should have retaliated the way we did with war? Are we making a change over seas? Why do you think so or why not? Here is a link to aid in your comments on the war: http://www.globalissues.org/Geopolitics/WarOnTerror.asp

The war has affected our nation for the worse, our young men and women,brothers,fathers,cousins,daughters,ect...die at war, everyday. In September 11,some three thousand were killed, yet now every single day thousands are killed. The casualties in Iraq are an estimated-23000 - 100000!!!
It's not worth it,war begets war,it doesn't seem like wit will ever end,and it's not worth it.

I think the war has torn our nation apart because we are fighting a war that the majority of our population disagrees with. It has become a similar situation to the Vietnam War, where there were many protests and debates over it. Yes, we should have retaliated in some way after the attacks because they were direct and violent attacks on our country, peace of mind, and innocence, but not in the way we did. Saddam did not direct the attack of 9/11 and, though he was a ruthless dictator, he should not have been our focus. Once we learned who was responsible, we should've targeted the Taliban and Bin Laden, establishing anti-terror task forces to infiltrate known Taliban hideouts in places like Afghanistan and Pakistan. Declaring war on one country that wasn't even directly responsible just didn't, and still doesn't, make sense. Yeah, we are making a change overseas, but not in a good way. There is still political turmoil in Iraq and the situation is not getting much better. In the meantime, we are losing thousands of troops...there's just no excuse for taking so many young lives and futures for a war that doesn;t even make sense.

I strongly believe that the War against terrorism has affected our nation greatly. Not in a positive at all, it's all been in the worst possible. Our people are dying over seas, more then that killed in the 9-11 attack. Our nation is the one suffering for the war, it's cost Americans their lives and from this war the economy has gone down big time and many people have lost their jobs over this. All the prices on everything has gone up, especially gas. I think the war was handle incorrectly but it's to late to fight that so we should just realize what's going on and stop this from taring our nation apart more then it already is. To many innocent lives are being lost and many negatives are the outcome of this.

i think it affected are nation relaly bad way i guess it did show that what we can do. but only thing that govement did is took food out are mouth and gave to someone else. are economy is massed by this whole incident but today we still let muslims immigrants in to are country. i think they should do something about that other then just fighting witht hem. i guess it relaly doesnt make sense that we are making change to other countrys we can use some changes here like not leting them muslims in to are country to do the same thing agin but yet we dont seee that haping any time soon. i think it messed are county more by having a war then it was.

I think the war has affected our nation in a negative way. It is killing so many lives of young people, fathers, brother, sisters, and mothers. I feel after September 11th out nation should have come together and helped out each other and the ones that we hurt by the event, rather then retaliating so fast. We are not making any changes, except our economy has gone down and many people have lost their jobs over this. The prices on everything has gone up, especially gas. I feel the war as done nothing good, and is just killing innocent people.

It has done nothing but raise gas prices and take the lives of innocent people over there and here in the US all for nothing. We still have yet to win the war evidentally because we are still there. It has been going on for too long and needs to end very soon and when we get a new president hopefully we can do just that and end the war.

I strongly agree with people saying war against terrorism has affected our nation. 911, was a big tragedy, and to this day people are still suffering because of it. Because of this war against terrorism, you still have soldiers dying every day in Iraq. Sometimes i think to myself when is this war going to be over. I think that our government needs a change, starting with the president. Hopefully, who ever comes into office they would make a change. This war has really changed many american lives. Look at the economy today, everything is more expensive. Gas prices are sky rocket, and its not going to change, its just going to get worse if someone dont make a difference.

This war has effected not only the U.S but also families, communities, friends, and even peoples jobs.Gas prices are sky high. The gas price has went from $1.70 to $4.00 a gl. taxs are even high.I see when I go inside of stores that they have smaller sizes of everything, but are charging the same high price for it. I fill that this is not fare, I thnk that all of this tax money is going to that war and because of all the money going to the war we have to again pay more for all of the other things like healthcare ect. This is stupid

I think that the war was necessary, but it has taken such a large toll on the economy and everything. Prices for most things have inflated so much. Not to mention that it has slowed down the working aspect back in the states. Jobs are getting harder and harder to find because of the decrease in the need for help. Also thousands of men and woman have been killed. It has been a daily occurrence for people to die in the war but it shouldn't have to be. Not this many people should have to die just to try and help the people over seas. I don't think we have made as great of strides as we should have for being over there so long.

I definately feel like we should have retaliated after 9/11. But I do not agree with us being over there this long. I don't know a lot about the true reson we are still there but we should blow up whover it is were over there for and leave. It's dragged on too long.
