Citizenship and health care rights for ALL children?

A problem caused by the onslaught of illegal immigrants into the United States is how to treat their children. Even those who feel that illegal immigrants should have no rights until they become legal citizens can't really blame the children for the choices of their parents, right?

This being the case, should ALL children born in the United States receive the same rights to health care as those children legally born here? Why or why not? Should all children born in the United States automatically be legal American citizens? Why or why not?

Thanks for your input!

I really don't think they should. It seems that people believe that if the illegal aliens get into the U.S. then it is fine for their children to stay, but if we allow this to continue it could have a negative effect on the overall health of the children. For example when babys are born in Mexico in most cases they do not recieve the proper care. They do not recieve some necesssary shots and may not get tested for illnesses when the are born. They then come into the U.S. and since they had no choice it is allright for them to stay, but we have no records of who they are and what they have done. Illegal immigrants do help with the economics of this country because they do jobs that nobosy else wants to do for less money, but they still are illegal and should be forced to recieve a green card before staying in the country perminently.

I feel that everyone should get free health care from all of the tax money that we have been paying. i dont feel that it would be to far off base. But im totally against taking care of illegal immigrants in hospitals because they are contributing to any funding for health care. i think that most definatly you should have to be a US citizen to qualify for that. As far as the children go that is a sore subject i would like to say that they deserve the health care because they are so young but the main issue here is to stop the illegal immigrants.

If you are born here you are a citizen here, well at least I think thats how it should be. They worry too much about illegal immigrants and things of that matter. If you want to get technical and talk about who is suppose to be here and who isnt then none of us are suppose to be here. We came to this country and stole it and just stayed here. If they want to come here let them come here. The only thing I do agree with is that they should have to get a green card so can be identified. No card then no free health care.

I guess I would have to say yes to the first question. If the child was born here but the parents arent citizens i guess the child only should have the rights to recieve health care. They should have to pay for it like eveyone else unless they are getting public aid and if they do the parents shouldn't be able to use.
I think that if a child is born in the U.S. then the child only should be a legal citizen. That means if the parents get caught for being immigrants then they have the risk of being deported. Then the child should go to a U.S. adoption home to be put up for adooption. The parents shouldnt have the right to take the child who is legal in the U.S. back and forth to their country beause they got caught. It would be a risk for the parents to take but at least if the baby did get adopted it would be a free legal U.S. citizen.

I don't think that all children born in the United States should recieve the same rights as LEGAL ones. I think it's the parents responsibility to become legal citizens and to make their children legal citizens too. Everyone else had to become legal citizens so just because you're born here doesn't mean you just get all of our rights. I do think it's horrible that the children had nothing to do with the move and still can't get their rights but that's just how things are. You can't just flea your country and come here and just use our land, our government money, and our jobs, etc. and think there will be no consequences. If the parents are citizens and they have children they those children should be automatically legal Americans. If the parents are illegal immigrants and they have a child then no, that child isn't a legal American citizen and should not be allowed to have any rights.

I think that all children regardless of where they're from should be treated. They have no choice in what their parents have done. Why should they be affected because of it? All children regardless of if their parents are legal or illegal born in the United States, should be automatically a legal American. They are born here just like all other Americans, so why should they be treated as if they're illegal? Children should never have to pay for the choices their parents have made.

First of all I think the law needs to be change. The law right now is written in such away that if your born here you become a citizen, it does not matter if your parents are citizen or not. This law needs to be changed if your parents are citizen then your when your born you become a citizen, if not you don’t. Ok on to you questions, done kids of illegal have the same rights? Doctors take something called a hyperacid oath. The hyperacid oath is an oath stating that as a doctor you will help the sick no matter with created, color, and I think citizenship. So, if a sick kid comes into a hospital, then they are helped. I do think if your parents are not citizens then the kids should be punished, too. I feel illegal immigration is destroying America faster than any other problem America faces right now.

Right.
I think if a child is born in the U.S. illegally they should still receive the same benefits and rights as the ones born legally to a certain extent. There should be a grace period to get the child back to the parents home, wherever that may be. The child can't help what the parents decided to do. The parents though, should be punished in some way, and the parents should be allowed a certain amount of time to get their newborn child back to its' propper country/home. In other words, treat the child as needed in order to survive until the grace period is up. I don't know what that grace period should be but I think it would be good to have one.
As to being legal Americans; I think not. Everyone should follow all necesary procedures in order to become a legal American. It may not have been the child's choice of where he/she were born but it was the parents, and some parents try to flex the law by going somewhere else to have their child born. We can't let that be, or else everything would eventually change one way or another.

No it is not the children of illegal immigrants fault that they are born in a country that they parents have no legal rights in, therefore they do not have health care. It is their parents fault, they should have thought of that before coming here illegally and then having children here. We already have to many people in this country who do not have health care that are legal citizens. Lets take care of them first, and let the illegals figure out how to take care of there own.

It would be hard not to give a child healthcare, even if they are illegal they should get some healthcare. We need to stop the illegal immigrants to be able to stop this problem. I think if a child is born here it shouldn't have any more rights than it's parents. When the parents are sent back wherever they came from, the child should stay with the family as they leave the US. There are enough people in the US legally that can't afford healthcare without adding all the illegal immigrants to the system too.

I don't think they should. I believe that if illegal immigrants believe that it is alright to have a child here then think they can stay here just because of that is completely wrong. I believe that children should receive healthcare only when they AND their parents because legal citizens. We can't give heathcare to illegal immigrants and their children when we work hard to pay taxes for that right ... they should have to do the same.

Yes, I do think that all children born in the U.S. should receive the same rights as children born to legal citizens. It is not the children's fault that their parents had them in a foreign land and it's a law that when you're born in a country, you're a citizen of that country. I know of people who were born when their parents were on vacation somewhere and now they have citizenship in that country as well as here. It's simply the law and you can't blame the children, so they should be legal American citizens and should be able to stay here even if their parents must be deported. Of course, it would be up to their parents to leave them here with other family or friends or to take them back to their country.

Personally I believe that the children of illegal immigrants should not have the right to health care. To have rights in America they need to have citizenship and that includes the children. They need to do it the right way. If they allow to give health care to the children then they should to the parents. So my beliefs are no rights should be given to the children and no rights to the parents until they are legal.

I think all children that are born in the United States should automatically become U.S. citizens. They should also have the same health care benefits that a legally born child has. I think that the government should keep track of immigrants, but at the same time, shouldn't make such a big deal about people coming in. The immigrants I know have come here from Mexico to raise their children in a better community and give them better schooling. They are typically good people and just want to take care of their families. When the chilid is born in the U.S. the child recieves the best care and proper treatment from the hospital, which they would not recieve in most other countries.
