Immigration

What do you think of the immigrants who are in this country and who are entering this country? Do you think we need tougher immigration laws? Do you think we issue too many green cards and visas? Do you have an idea how many illegal immigrants there are in the United States? (Please take a guess.) Do you know how many illegal immigrants cross our borders each month? (Again, please guess.)

I believe that in this country, it is ok for immigrants to be here when they come in the correct way. Illegal Immigrants are a totally different story, but immigrants that are coming to the United States to start a new life are perfectly fine in my terms. I believe that the U.S.A. needs tougher immigrations laws because there are so many people from all parts of the world here. So many people come to America to start a new life, but I feel that we should be tougher on these laws and not just let anyone in. Everything that is happening in todays world is very scary, and our country should be high alert and make sure our country is safe and not letting any people that should not be here, in. I would guess that there is about 5-600,000 illegal immigrants in the United States at any given point. And I would guess about 5,000 illegal immigrants try to cross our borders each month. Again, immigration is a big thing in todays world. Our country is growing everyday with different ethnicities, but we should never be too sure who we are giving this green card out too.

Illegal imagation is a problem, but not immigration itself. immigration is what this country was founded on, heck my grandpa was the first one born in america on my fathers side. Now don't think i beleave we should just open the bourders to who ever wants in, but immigration can be a good thing for the economy. But illegal immigrants are not a good thing, they are under the radar and take from the economy with providing enough in return.

I feel there too many immigrant in this country. I had lived down south were in the factory the immigrants would get special treatment, because they could not speak english which all in reality the spoke perfect english, they just didn't want to work hard like everyone else. There is where I had learned that they have up till 3 years before they have to get a green card, so they don't pay taxes like the rest of us do. These people save the money and then take it back to there country than do it all over again. So i do, believe the laws need to be tougher and the goverment needs to keep a more close eye on them. Do we issue too many green card well, I think the goverment just needs tighter rules.

I'm not sure exctly what I think of the illegal immigrants in this country. I think that the laws are so confusing that there are so many different forms of legal or illegal that I don't always know who is who. No I do not think that we issue too many green cards and visas. So many Americans don't understand how great they have it, or care to think about their family that came to this country. This is a new country and we all came here from somewhere else and our family was looking for something better. So who are we too say that some people have a right to look for something better and some people don't. Just think about the kind of life some people who come here from Mexico or maybe Cuba have had. What if my family who came here four generations ago escaping a life that was not near as good as ours now was denied entrance to this country. There are women in Mexico who are pregnant and have no health care whatsoever who need our help. And there are so many Americans who have way more than they need and can't imagine what that would be like. So it may be easy to brush them off as people trying to invade our country and take all of our resources. There are some people who might try to wait and come into our country legalally, but they might not last that long in the situation that they are in. And do you have any idea how many jobs that these people do that we don't even realize. We might say that they are taking all of our jobs, but a lot of these jobs, we don't want to do anyway and wouldn't do for the money that they charge. I have no guess for how many immigrants cross the border illegally each month, but I'm sure it is a lot. Maybe if our president could make some laws and deal with some issues that make some sense and mean something to this country instead of spending all of his time and money on issues that only negatively effect our country, we could come up with some solutions.

I am not against people from other countries moving to the United States to live a better life. Isn't that what our ancestors did? I do think there needs to be some immigration laws in place. The talk about building a wall between the United States and Mexico is just not feasible. It would be costly and people would find a way to get around, over, or under the wall. If some immigration laws were put in place perhaps a wall wouldn't be necessary. I think the immigrants that are already here need to be made citizens right away. They should be able to start receiving some type of medical care and get better jobs. They should also start paying taxes.

I think that all illegal immigrants need to be deported back to Mexico, or whatever other country they came from. I know that doing this would cost a lot of money towards the country, but at the same time, it would also benifit the country. Immigrants are taking jobs from Americans who pay taxes adn ask slightly more pay from jobs while these illegals are undercutting Americans becaue they work for cash and don't have to pay taxes or social security. Meanwhile, they are still benifiting from our health programs, and our school systems. I think that we do need to make stronger immigration laws, and I don't think that we have a chance to pass out too many green cards and visas because most of the immigrants are crossing the border illegaly. If I had to guess how many illegal immigrants were in this country, I would have to guess that it is slightly over 10 million. I would say that somewhere around 5,000 illegal immigrants cross the border each month. Maybe even more than that.

I hate to even think I could be a racist person on this issue, but there are a few provisions that immigrants get and even native born Americans do not recieve. Depending on the situation, some immigrants are allowed to move into our country and are having thier living costs completely covered by the government. I find that rediculous. Homeless people live on our streets, but someone can come from another country and be given shelter, electricity, food--basically a better life than many Americans could claim for themselves. Also, they will work for less pay, and seem to dominate establishments that by right should be saved for us. Illegal immigrants are that much worse. Many of illegal immigrants are the reason for the high drug trafficing in our country today. I'm sure there are thousands of illegal immigrants in our country, but I would hate to even have to try and imagine how many of them are crossing our borders every day.

I think that it is great for immigrants to enter the country. every one here now came from immigrnats from some where. Maybe their grandpa came over in the 1800's from ireland. We are all immigrants in on way or another.
I do believe that we need tougher immigrantion laws. Yes, I think that we issue too many green cards. We need to keep better track of the immigrants in this country. Most of them stay here and hide when thier visa's expire. I guess that there are at least 500,000,000 or more in the United States. I also think that about thousands of them come over each month.

Immigration in our country I think has become a problem. I believe that in the beginning it was great to let people come over to america and go for the american dream. Now thought I think this is being abused by lots of immigrants. There are just so many illegal immagration going on right now that it makes all americans angry i think. American's are relizing that there are so many immigrants and that the u.s. isn't doing anything about it that they are starting to say that these people just don't need to be in our country anymore. I think that the U.S. need to be more strick on the immigration laws. They need to hire more people to guard the boarders even if it will cost money. I believe that they need to watch who comes into our country and how many are allowed in. Because before long our country is just going to be full of immigrants and were going to have no control over it!

I work in the resturant industry and work around many different immigrants. I see these people coming to America to try a make a better life for themselves and their families. I think people who were born in America are jaded from living "the american dream" and do not understand were these immigrants are coming from, and forget that our ansesters were immigrants to begain with. This land, which is now called America, was origanlly the Native American's land and they are concired by many as foreigners in their own country. In many cases the green cards that are issued are temporary, and many of the illegal immigrants do eventually go back to their home country. I think we don't need tougher immigrantion laws, people need to simiply understand how bad other countries are. I know there are thousands if not millions of illegal immigrants and hundreds more cross the border every month. All they want is to have a decent life and a chance to give their family something more than they could living in a third world country.

the first thing i want all to know is that i am not racist. i feel that this is the land of the free and the home of the brave, but this is our land of the free...learn to speak english. what i dont understand is why all these people would want to come here in the first place. its not someplace to write home about. i think that if a person from another country wants to be here they should at least know the pledge of allegience. i think it is rediculous the amount of immigrants coming into these United States every day. its not that all of these people are bad they all are just trying to live thier lives. i am really just trying to be nice. i dont like them i think that all they do is come and steal our jobs just because they are willing to work for next to nothing. all i ever hear about is how they are smuggeling drugs. thats a stereotype, i know, but really thats all i hear. i am unimpressed with the way the government tries to stop these people from crossing the border. build a bigger fence.
