Global Warming

Do you think Global Warming is a real issue? Do you think Earth will look different and feel different in 30 years? Some people think scientists are creating theories and throwing out numbers to scare people. Others feel those theories are real. If you do think global warming is real do you think you are making an effort to fight it? Give examples.

Please visit these sites before responding (and if possible please refer to lines in these articles in your response). Thank you.

I really do believe that Global Warming is very real and very serious. I believe that everything is going to change in the world. Not too long ago, the Channel Three(WCIA) evening news talked about the possibility that in thirty years the entire human race could be wiped out due to Global Warming. The level of carbon dioxide in the air would become too great for us to breathe, and the oceans would rise so high that current coast lines will dissapear. I think scientists are just trying to help the human population, I mean, they have to live here too. I had no idea that doing something as simple as reducing the energy emissions coming from your house could help fight Global Warming. I think from now on, I will have to pay more attention to things I can do to help. I also wish that everyone would be required by law to drive eco-friendly cars.
I hope I've answered your questions adiquately!

I believe global warming is a big issue in todays world. The site that you gave showed many crazy statistics about global warming in the past hundred years. I think the Earth will look much different in the next 30 years. If the temperature is already rising, and glaciers are melting, what else could happen with this global warming. We could have a drought from not enough rain and the Earth could get too hot. There are many problems that occur with this problem, itself. The Earth will also feel very different because there will be hardly any cold places on the Earth. Everyone will feel hot, and sticky all the time due to the humidity. I understand and believe that global warming is a true issue, but I never find myself ever doing much to fight off this effort. There are many things people can do to fight this diaster, but I usually go the easy way out. People can hang dry their clothes, bike places or take a public bus, and turn off their lights in rooms they are not in just to name a few that would save our Earth. Any energy that is created by us is heating up the Earth. I believe it is up to us people to stop this warming trend, but it will take a lot of work to have most of these people go along with it.

I think that global warming is a very real issue that we all need to help take care of. I think that the earth will be very different in 30 years. The polar ice caps are melting right now and there are whole species that are going to dissapear. There are going to be more severe storms and high temperatures that will have a large impact on the earth as well. I have heard others say that scientists are just trying to scare us and that it might not be really what they say, but I think that they are trying to scare us because we all need to be scared. Future generations are not going to be able to enjoy this earth as we have. It's not fair for us to ignore the problem like so many of us do. I do not do everything that I should be doing for the environment. I have made some changes recently though. For example I bought a bike and ride it lots of places that before I would have driven my car. I have also tried to useless energy in my home and convinced my boss at work that we need to be recycling everything. I think that if everybody put an effert in to doing little things differently, than we might be able to make a change before things are completely irriversable. But I think that so many people will not be willing to make changes that need to be made because it will make their lives more inconviniant.

I think global warming is an issue. And, I think the earth will look different in 30 years. We should make an effort to fight it. but, I don't think it will stop. life is changing and we are a part of this. what we do to it will change it, but we and/or it will adapt. I'm not tring to sound doom and gloom but life will go on and we my not be in it's future but we will be a dirrect cause. I don't think we should give up, i recycle i conserve energy but I think global warming is just the eath changing.

I believe that Global warming is a real issue and is becoming a bigger issue every day. In 30 years I do think that the earth will look different. I think that before long we will not be on this earth of global warming. Soon we will have no oxgen to breath and to much water because of glacers melting. I do not believe that scientist are trying to scare us. I belive that they are trying to warn us before the earth is ruined becasue of this problem. They dont' exactly know when or even if this will happen, but with warning us it is making us think about the things that we are doing these days and ways to trying and prevent it. By them warning us about this problem people are aware and now we are trying to help by trying to conserve energy and recycling (which i do) and car pooling places. Some people are doing things to help with the global warming issue.

Yes i think that the greenhouse house effect is a major problem and no one is doing anything about it. You see more violent storms and weather that is not usual for the season. I think that if nothing is done we will have problems in the long run and then there will noting that can to bbe done to fix the ozone layer. People need to realize that the resources on this earth will not be around for ever so we need to find other sources that are friendly to the environment.

i do think that global warming is a huge problem and needs to be fixed now so before it can not be fixed anymore. i don't knowf for sure what causes global warming but i think it is caused by pollution. We can effectively stop pollution by coming up with new ways to travel i know now that we have cars that run on other things besides gas. But these cars cost a lot and not many people have them most people have big trucks and hug SUV that take up a ton of gas.So hopful these cars will become more popuar.I guess there could be a solution to take some of these gases out of the air but i don't know what the asker is.i do think that people are worried about how the earth is going to be in 19 or 20 years and i think thats why people want to fix it how so their kids won't need to wory about it.i hope there will not be a total global flood and i really don't think it will happen since everyone now is doing so much to stop it hopful what we are doing is enogh.

I think that global warming is a serious issue that should be dealt with before it causes another ice age. there is many things we can do to help reduce global warming. Reuse and Recycle, use less heat and air conditing, and drive Less, buy energy-efficient products, and encourage other people to reuse and recycle. i dont think that the climate is going to change drastly enough to effect or children by maybe our great grandkids and the kids after that. But with flooding we are all going to have to move inland and that would put everyone in cramped bad conditions which should cause a plague.

I dont think that global warming is as big of an issue as everyone makes it out to be. Everyone says that the climate is changing and warming up. Well the past few weeks were colder than normal so is that global warming? I thought that things should be warmer. I think a lot of the whole global warming thing is just scientists saying stuff so they can make themselves have more respect and get more money. I dont think that the ozone layer is wasting away like they say it is and I dont think that global warming is a big issue. A lot of things about all of this come from the EPA and I dont really care for that organization's tactics.

I think global warming is a serious issue that needs to be delt with quick. I dont want to die becuse the g overnment is to lazy to go fix something thats actually important instead of going over to iraq killing people for no reason.

With all this talk about global warming I've started paying a little more attention to the weather lately and it seems to me that Global warming is simply the seasons coming later in the year.

This is a great question, and yes Global Warming is totally real. No we aren't worried enough about the eath when are kids grow up, which is terrible. I think the only thing at this point in time to save our earth is going to be more Government regulations. As much as we hate the government to get involved I really don't see enough people, which should be Everyone, getting involved. Recycling, Reusing, Reminding to shut off lights and unused water. I don't think we actually can grasp the concept that we are ruining our world, at least not desperatly enough to save it. There is a web site anyone can go to and help to save the earth for free by clicking on the red squares, after you do that the sponser for the site donates so much money to help save rainforests and clean the air. ECOLOGYFUND.COM is the site and in all reality every person with a computer should click those red boxes everyday if they don't want the world to flood because slowly but SURELY it IS happening and we should be scared for everyones future. Some ( Iwould say stupid) people are trying to "grandfather in" some factories that have been around for years so they are able to continue polluting the earth @ the same level they have always while younger newer companies have stricter rules. To help stop the "Grandfathering in" of polluting companies you can log on to WWW.Earthshare.com and sign a petition. It's sad people are to busy to do these free things to help save the earth, yet I'm sure when the shit hits the roof they'll have time to beg for forgiveness (from who ever they beleive in.)

I definately believe that global warming is a huge issue today. As collausal as this problem is it feels as if the problem is being overlooked and pushed to the "back-burner". It is not being taken care of and I think that many people think that if they just ignore it then it will just go away. This is a problem that will not just go away in fact it is a problem that is getting worse and it is not going to get better. We need to unite and do something about this issue before it is too late to save us. It is possible that in the next 10 years the earth will be unlivable and this is all because we do not know how to take care of our planet. It is definately a problem that needs to be dealt with fast.

Global warming kind of scares the crap out of me. When I watch the history and discovery channel and they say how much ice has decreased over the years, it freaks me out. I do think that some scientists kind of make it sound worse than it really is, but if we dont do something now, then its going to be real bad. To fix global warming and decrease pollution in the air, technology simply needs to advance. We need to find a good dependable replacement for oil and gas that everybody can use to limit the amount of pollution going through the air. Littering is always a problem as well, but it seems that recycle centers are spending a lot of money. The only way recycling will be affective, is if it becomes an actual law that enforces everybody to do it. That way, we could reuse most of what we would throw away, saving money and pollution.

Yes, I think that the greenhouse is a major problem. Many things are trying to be done about it, but I think their should be more done that is effective. People need to see that once the damage is done to the ozone layer there is no going back to fix it. That is way right now we should be doing something about it. We need to find better sources for the environment that help it not hurt it.

the world's temperature has been rising for thousands of years. It takes thousands of years for the Earth to heat up to its historical maximum mean temperature. We have only been burning fossil fules for a couple hundred years. When you look at real temperature data for the 20th century as a whole, there isn't much evidence that the Earth's climate has warmed more than about one degree Fahrenheit. And when liberals say that their is a problem and we should do something, then do something about it. Don't just bitch, get a hybrid and start hugging the trees.

i am not a scientist, and i really dont know a whole lot. but i do have one theory that i would like to share. a lot of people think that we are in serious trouble ; the hole in the ozone, the rising temperatures and the melting of the ice in the north pole. is it really an issue that we should care about? i believe that the hole in the ozone isn't that bad, it acts as a medium between earth and space, letting out all the unneeded gases out. as for the temperature and the melting of the north pole snow, didn't that happen once before. the ice age era was done and all the ice melted back then, and they didnt even have cars nor electricity or any of the things that we are told to be harmful to the environment. i think that this is just a phase that the Earth cycles through. i think recycling materials actually costs a lot more than making new ones. to me, this issue is severely over-rated.

I feel global warming is a serious issue, and hope Americans will do what they can to help change it. I believe that President Bush and other Presidents to come will concentrate on these important issues than fighting the war in Iraq. I think we should be doing something to help reuse, recycle, and remodel in the world. Some people are doing just that, I think it was Julia Roberts just built her new home in California with all envrionment friendly materials. It will be heated and ran on something similar to cooking oil.

Global warming is a issue because it can cause serious damage that we won't be prepared for. If people actually use the recycle bins in schools, business, ect. that would help out the issue a lot. With the gas it is also an issue because nowadays peolpe are driving these big trucks which polute the air a whole lot. Global warming isn't going to be fixed immediately but if peolpe start doing things to reduce the issue of it in time it will be something that isn't such a scare too many.

Yes, I do think that global warming is a real issue that needs to be resolved. Yes, I do think that in 30 years the Earth will look and feel different, but if something is done soon then I don't think that very much will change. I'm not sure if I believe that scientists are throwing numbers out just to scare people, but if these scientists are so concerned about global warming, then why aren't they doing more to help resolve the issue? I think that a lot more can be done to benifit global warming. I try my best to not be a problem with this issue, but there's only so much I can do when I'm a broke college student.

Global warming has became a big topic in the world today. I believe that global warming is a issue that needs to be taken care of and needs more help from the people that live and walk on the earth today. I don't think that scientist are out to scare people theya re just supplying the facts and some people are taking this out of hand and just want to scare us with this big issue. I think there will be a difference in the earth within the next 30 years and that it won't be the same as it was hundred of years ago. Also the reason why R-12 freon is no longer used in automobiles today is that R-12 was on cause of a big whole in the south pole that is growing and is unsafe for our enviroment. I feel like I need to make a better effort to make the earth a better place like driving a better emisions vehicle within the next year.

I think that global warming is not a big issue. Earth will not look any differnt in thirty years. If you look at the earth 100 years ago it looks pratical the same as today. The numbers really not that important. If you take the weather man for example, He has a fifty, fifty shot of saying it's going to rain. those are pretty good odds. and about one third of the time he's wrong. These scientists are just trying to get attention. If they say that the atmosphere is going to be completely gone in 100 years, theres a good chance that any of them are going to be around so you can say to them that they were wrong.

I think we do have a glorbal warming issue. The reason i say this is, because of the tornado in the states that do not get them. The snow last winter in fl and the way the weather has changed in the past years. The earth may feel different in 30 years from now. also 650,000 amount of the carbon dioxide is at its highest.

I do feel that global warming is an issuse and was an issuse before we even reconized it. People for years have took natural resourses without thinking of the future and now have stripped the land of many natural resourses. At this point in time I feel it is too late to try and revirse the damage. Whats done is done and now we are waiting for the aftermath of our actions. I feel if we are all around in the next thirty years the land and the way we live will change dramaticly. I feel at this point many, including myself, are too used to their lifestyles in order to try change the affects of global warming. All of ous are spoiled with our cars and excusive use of electricity that not many are willing to change.

i am going to make this short and to the point. i could go on forever, but i will spare you. global warming is a problem that will not affect our generation or the next so dont worry about it. all of us will be dead and gone so it wont be our problem. live your life and dont worry about all that useless shit. life is hard enough as it is dont make it any worse.
