How many of your friends smoke or have smoked marijuana and/or have you ever smoked marijuana? Should marijuana be legalized? Should it be legal to possess and grow or one of the other? If legalized, should it be put on the market, or do we keep its distribution on the streets? Any other comments you have on this subject would be appreciated.
Thanks for the input,

A mojority of the people i hang out with smoke marijuana. A select few have done it and don't smoke it anymore. I have smoked and still do smoke weed. Should weed be legalized, well, i really do not think that it matters. Either way, I know I can/will get it. The legalization of weed is not that important to me. If it becomes legal, great, a lot of people will quit going to jail. If it never becomes legal, oh well, just make sure you don't get caught. . . Smoke responsibly.

i think smoking weed should be legalized. It's almost impossible to overdose, and it's effects aren't near the same as alcohol. People who smoke are chill and peaceful. Drunks start fights and get in car accidents. You can easily overdose on alcohol and you're more likely to do something stupid with it. Getting caught with marijuana is a petty crime and a waste of the police's time. If the government taxed that shit they would only benifit from it. I say cheif it up.

Yes, I am ready to see marijuana use legalized in the United States, at least on a trial basis. Societies that have legalized pot (and other drugs) have not seen adverse consequences; some of those cultures have much less criminal activity than ours has.
When I was in Key West a couple of years ago, I saw lots of people walking around with joints; they weren't bothering anyone, and no one bothered them. People down there are more friendly, laid-back, and relaxed than people in most other places in the U.S., and part of that might be because they feel their freedoms are less restricted. (Of course a lot of it has to do with the sunshine and the ocean.)
I think possession in small quantities (enough for personal use) should be entirely legal. One of the benefits I see in legalizing pot would be the increased tax revenue, so I'd want to deter people from growing their own and selling it--but I'd probably be fine with growing your own for your own use.
Once it's legal, I'd say sell it in drug stores, grocery stores, convenience stores--anywhere alcohol and cans of corn are sold.
One other comment: I'm against most laws because I think they discourage people from thinking on their own. The fewer laws we have, the better (though I think some are necessary). That's another reason I'd like to see pot legalized.

I dont see the problem with smoking weed. It is not a drug. Its just a plant that happens to grow like that, and has some side effects when you set it on fire. Nobody has ever died from smoking weed. Weed is not like crack. People can stop whenever they want to. It really doesnt matter if weed is legalized because people are going to do it anyway.

I don't see that as a reason to make marijuana legal. If anything, it should encourage the government into taking a more direct stance against these other substances. In point of fact, though not being banned in the U.S., tobacco is taxed at an outrageous rate and many cities and counties are banning it completely in all public places. there are counties that are completely dry of alcohol. The point being that maybe someone just got it right where marijuana is concerned. How many cases of lung cancer or drunken accidents could we have avoided if someone had taken a good look at alcohol and tobacco befor marketing it? It might have saved many lives.

I know a lot of people that smoked and smoke pot. I dont think that it really matters if it is legalized. all that it will do is stop a lot of teenagers from smoking. The whole reason a lot of people start to smoke is to rebel against their parents and the law. I dont think it should be legal to possess or grow pot at all. If it was legalized I think they should make a market out of it and the money should go to the government. this way the government will raise prices and maybe some people will stop smoking.

alot of my freinds do smoke and i have tried it to. its like its illigal but no one cares. i think if it was legalized there would be less fuse over it since everyone does it already. alchol is a more powerful substance than pot and people drink all the time. i also think it is funny how it is 4/20 and i am writing this.

Smoking weed is anothe or of those things where it really doesnt matter what the government has to say about it and it really doesnt matter if its legal or not. People are going to smoke weed as long as its around to smoke no matter what the law is. All your doing is smoking and it shouldnt be a problem because we all know the affects it can have on us. Even if they made is legal and put a age on it, it still wouldnt make a difference becasue people under age are still going to do it. You might catch a couple of people a day with weed or smoking weed as a police officer but you can never catch all of them. "The game stays the same its the players that change." There is always going to be weed around and there is always going to be people would smoke it so whats the big deal. Like i said it doesnt matter if is legal or not people are still going to do it.

I think as drugs go, Marijuana is really not that bad. I don’t smoke myself but I do know several people that do, and they don’t get out of control or do anything different from when you are drunk. I think that if the government did make it legal they should put a really high tax on it to make money. They should also have regulations on it similar to alcohol and make sure no one drives under the influence. I think that the government should legalize marijuana if they made it profitable for them.

i would say that most of my friends have smoked marjiuana and i do think that it should be legalized becaue it can be useed for other things like pain killers.and less people will go to jial and fill them up. but i don't think we shiuld put it onthe market out in the open. Whatever happens it really won't matter caue pople ar still going to get it

Yes I was just talking about this with my brother. I am the only person around me that I know that has never tried it. I think that it should be legal because it could help with our National debt that has accumulated with all of the drug trafficating. I see that many communities that have weed legalized have people that are alot more chill and laid back and do not have as high of a crime rate. In the end, I think it would be good for our country to make it legal and stop worrying about it.

I think marijuana is really bad because it could really hurt your mind. I have seen so many people out there that have used marijuana and they all act like they are out of it or they are so stupid. Im a business man and i would never hire anyone that showed signs of the use of marijuana not because they seem to be air heads but also because i would never trust them.
