PLEASE ANSWER THIS QUESTION!

depleting our natural resources

Are our children and children's children going to pay the price of our neglect and abuse of our natural resources?
-How much of our energy resources do we have left?
-Is there enough for generations to come?
-Is pollution of our natural resources affecting out environment?
-What is causing the changes?
-What can we do as individuals to change or reduce the impact on our natural resources?
-Did we already know some of the technology being introduced today that may have changed the course in which our environment is heading toward permanent damage?
-Does our environment today changethe DNA makeup of future children?

I truly believe that our natural resources are quite honestly depleting. It seems as if people think that if they ignore this issue it will go away, but this is definately not true. Our natural resources are quickly disappearing. Our future and our childrens future is not mapped out like we seem to think. I think that we as individuals really need to work on the environment as a whole. There are so many things that we as a society can do to keep our world in check, it is just a matter of getting people to help around their own communities.

I believe that our enviroment is in severe danger! I believe that mother nature is trying to get our attention with all of these horrible natural disasters. We have only one earth and we really need to take care of her. There is so much pollution in the air and I believe that global warming is having a big effect on our weather today. I believe that is why there are blizzards one week and heat waves the next week. I think our children and grandchildren are in big danger if we don't do something to change the earth. I am not sure but I heard there are many enviromentalists that are taking this problem to white house but many of them are not really worried about the enviroment or they that it is not a big issue today. I know that many organizations are trying to put the word out there to save our earth and they are trying to educate us through our schools. I also know that there our some new cars out that don't pollute the air that much.

Our natural resources are very close to being depleated. We have to find other sources of energy so that we can help out planet. Most people do not think that our natural resources delpeation is a problem but it is and people need to realize it because we could really hurt out environment if we are not careful.

i hope that my kids and my grand kids will not pay the price for are neglect of our natural resoucres. i am not sure how much of our are resoulces we have left and hope it not a really small number.i should hope that there are enough jfor the generations to come and if we don't we need to find a way to get more. i do think that the pollution is affecting are envirment since polltion had been a big problem for some time and all that ties into thing like the greenhouse effect and other enviment things. As far as what is caueing these chages i really don't know but i would say that it is to muce pollution and all of the thinkgs that we sue too much to caeu polltion. what we can do as individula is try to not use up are nauterl resouces by trying to conserve them thur buying cars that don't put so much polltion into the air and change the way wer ar using that resources that we have. i donot think we knew that the technolgy we have now would permanently damage are resources at least i hope not.im not sure if out environemtn will chage are childerns future i really hope it will not and hopeful we can find a way too fix it.

I dont think that we are depleting our natural resources as fast as everyone says we are. However, I do think that we as a country are far too dependent on oil. Oil is our life blood so to speak. Everything we do is related to petroleum in some way or another. I also think that we are far too dependent on other countries for our oil. We have a lot of untapped oil in ALaska that we cant touch because of the whole wildlife reserve. I think we should be drilling there. Also, there is a lot of oil in the Gulf of Mexico that we cannot as of yet reach. We need to devise ways of getting it. A third thing is that there are other countries such as Russia with oil reserves that we could be doing business with. Once again I dont think that we are depleting our natural resources as fast as what we think but I do feel that there are alternitives that need to be explored more extensively.

I believe our environment is at risk. There should be more action taken to help reserve our natural resources instead of destroying them. This topic can be confusing for some, however there isn't a lot public knowledge to help keep our natural resources.

I don't know much about our natural resource situation, but i can only imagine how much resources are used by the entire world. There is no doubt that our resources are being depleted. Water, oxygen, land to grow food on are all going to be gone someday. Maybe more organizations to help the environment can be made like planting more trees, recycling and things like that.

it is of no doubt to me that we are doing damage to our planet. we are also using our natural resources(especially fossil fuels i.e petroleum, coal etc.) at an extremely fast rate. i also believe that there are allot of these resources left on our planet. these resources are going to be much more difficult to extract due their scattered locations. i think that advances in recycling will hopefully be able to supply our future generations. Greenhouse gases are causing the changes. we need to stop driving fuel thirty vehicles, turn our lights off and heat down more often and vote for people who acknowledge the problem.

indeed we are using up a lot of non-renewable natural resources quickly. mainly energy is produced but now we reached a level where we need to start finding new ways to get energy and the fact is our children will suffer in the long run, or even our grand children.
the one thing is that everything is business wise now, and to companies that costs a lot more, to make environment harmless products, and even the companies that do so have to jack up prices to make up for the production, so consumers wont buy their products but the harmful products, because they are cheaper.
people do not want to save earth and be in debt, this is why we have to work together on this, no individual effort would be good enough.

I feel that we have many resources left and we dont have to worry about it. I think that we have alot more then many people think. Too many people are worried about our world and not doing anything about it. If there was such a problem, then we would already have many differnt resources. I feel that there easily could be a problem down the road and we should start looking ahead, but at the same time we are letting gas go to three or four dollars. If something is going to be done then we need to get on it.

Yes, our descendants will pay a heavy price for our neglect of our environment and abuse of natural resources. We have altered our environment to adapt to us, instead of adapting to our environment. We have overstepped our bounds. We make decisions for ourselves, not for the good of the generations to come. We make our decisions based on our convenience. We have learned it is easier to get coal by bulldozing the entire mountain over. Nevermind, this process causes floods for surrounding areas, dried up springs in other areas, and a giant migration of wildlife. A complete devastated ecosystem. Combustion engines are convenient to use, though the poisons they emit will have latter generations suffering. I don't believe we should delete the use of coal and oil, just greatly reduce our consumption. If we put renewable energys in the spotlight everyone will be better off. The more renewable energy is used the technology will boom, and the output will increase. The key word is renewable, we can use it again and again. The energy industry is frightened of renewable energies, because do-it-yourselfers can take advantage of being independent from the industry. Renewable energy doesn't include Nuclear Energy, as they portray themselves as clean energy. That industry creates the most toxic waste of all energy industries. They still haven't found an adequate disposal for the toxic waste. They have turned Yucca Mountain into a cavern waste station. Which is already filled now.
I believe there is more oil than we currently are told we have. The demand for oil is relatively inelastic, so demand stays about the same. Therefore, when the supply is low we pay higher market prices. this results in higher profits for the company. When supply inreases we pay lower prices and profits are lower for the industry. If the industry can make the supply look smaller then profits will be greater. We can imagine what side of the supply the industry is going to lean. They already manipulate prices by forming a cartel and manipulate supply, so it isn't a new stance from the industry.
I feel if we reduce consumption there will be enough resources for future generations. Our consumption of oil and coal is devastating our environment. The last I heard the artic ice cap is estimated to melt 30 years earlier than first predicted; when it was first discovered as a problem. As individuals there is alot we can do to reduce our impact on the affected environment. Switching to florescent bulbs, instead of incandescent bulbs will reduce wasted electricity. Carpooling is a way to reduce emissions. Instead of driving down the street, walk or ride your bike. Simply, using your voice to promote renewable energy is a major accomplishment. With proper research many solutions are available. Where there is a will there is a way, as a society we must be willing to change our ways. We have known many of todays reemerging technology for several years. Ideas were placed on the back burner to make way for consumer convenience and industry profits. This is part of the reason I don't think we should eliminate the combustion engine, just reduce it's use. As technology prevails we may need to use the combustion engine again. The electric car was introduced by Thomas Edison when automobiles were still relatively new. If Thomas Edisonwas still around he would have tackled the idea of the conservation of electricity. Rudolf Diesel, the creator of the diesel engine, dreamt of a engine ran by vegetable oils; we now know these as bio-diesel engines. The windmill has been a staple in dutch lifestyle for thousands of years.
Initially, if we take initiative today, not ten years from now, our children will learn from our actions. If we are concerned enough to take action, they will learn to take action also and follow in our footsteps. If we procrastinate, as the bush administration wants, our children will procrastinate also. Our children will learn the seriousness of the situation from our actions.

It's sad to see our enviroment in this kind of condition. Peolpe need to start caring more about our natural resoures because if we do not then who will. We can not just leave our mess for the next generation to pick up, we need to start being way more clean, helping out, and stop littering.

Of course someone will pay the price and it will be sooner than our kids kids, we are already paying the price we just haven't acceptd it yet. I do beleive that we have enough inventive ideas out there that work that will replace need for our energy resources, we just haven't got to the point were we relize we need to start taking advantage of them. Yes pollution is affecting our environment look at the ozone layer and even the amount of people with allergies, we are so sensitive to everything because all the pollution has damaged our immune systems to fight all foriegn invaders of our bodies. In a way yes our environment changes our DNA, take all the antibiotics and steroids in procesed meats that is causing our young children to develope sooner because they are being exposed to steroids. Look at all the cancer cases that I'm sure all the chemicals we unknowingly eat on our produce or even wash our hair with doesn't help. We are constantly being bombarded by dangerous ingredients we dont even know how to pronounce, it is affecting us, our kids and even our grandparents, the cycle began along time ago. Amy Marx

our childrens children will pay for what were doing now...hell i'm paying for what my grandparents did. but hopefully by then we'll of found a new fuel of some sort. also another thing to think about is how long it will take for our country to fill up and we'll be more like the countries that have been established for many more times over as long as we have. For example, londen is really condensed and they barely have to drive everyday. We'll be like that using more subways, trains, and good ol' fashoned excercise.
