In your view, why are so many people killed in traffic accidents?
Is drinking and driving causing most of the accidents?
Is not wearing your seat-belt to blame in many deaths?
Do you think teenagers are more likely to be involved in accidents because they are inexperienced drivers? If so, what can be done about this? What is your point of view on the new law that was passed stating a sixteen-year-old can only have one passenger for the first six months after receiving their license?

I think that there are two leading causes in for traffic accidents. One is the inexperienced teenage drivers. They do not know a whole lot about driving and they think they know everything. The other cause is careless people. Talking on the phone or looking out the window. I have seen these cause many accidents. For teen driving I think that the government provide more information to the teenagers to learn in fun mannor.

A lot of traffic accidents are caused simply by people not paying attention to what their main prioriety in a car should be: driving. Not talking on their cell phones, doing hair or makeup. I don't know the statistics of accidents involving drunk drivers, but i'm sure the number is up there. All drunk driving is wrong because of the dier consequences it holds but it seems even a little bit worse when an underage individual sits behind the wheel with no regaurd to their life, the people in the car with them, or the other drivers on the road. Not all teenagers are this careless though. Some teenagers are responsible and have good heads on their shoulders. It's a shame all sixteen-year-olds have to follow the one passenger law when not all of them are stupid and careless. Being responsible comes with age but some people mature much more faster than others. There are adults who act like they are still 16, should they be restricted to the one passenger law? society would think not. All teenagers are labeled irresponsible but that's not the case.

I do think htat teenagers are more likely to be invovled in accidents because teens are in the higher range of drug use. I think that drinking is a big cause, because alot of teens and college students drink. Drinking and driving is over twenty percent of all traffic fatalities in the United State each year. But i know that it isnt just caused by underage people. But driving under the influence of alcohol is not the only danger that we face. Driving while being high is actually more dangous than driving while being drunk. I think that it is a good idea to have the one passenger rule when a teen gets their licence because they dont pay as much atention as older people to. I personally know quit a few teens that never think anything bad could happen to them. Most older people are more carful because the know that bad things can happen to them, or bad things have happened to them. So they are more careful. If we educate young people and lowering BACs they will be less likely to drink and drive.

I think the main reason for all of the traffic accidents is because people do not know how to drive anymore. There are a scary number of people that turn 16 and have no clue what they are doing behind the wheel. People like to talk on their phones and doing other things inside the car while they should be looking at the road and see what is coming toward them. Drunk driving has a big part to do with it also. It is scary how many people get wasted and then think that they can drive home thinking that nothing will happen to them.

I read somewhere that alcohol plays a part in more than half of all fatal accidents. I think a disproportionately high percentage of accidents also involve teenagers (though I haven't looked this up lately), and likely many of these involve teenagers who have alcohol in their system. I think that youthful exuburence, inexperience behind the wheel, and alcohol consumption is always a potentially lethal combination.
I don't like laws in general, but if we have to have them, I like the laws that aim at making the world a safer place for everyone, especially children, so I'm okay with the one-passenger law.
I would like to see the legal driving age raised to 17 or 18. In my own experience, I wasn't much more mature at 18 than I was at 16, but maybe that's not true for everyone. Right now lots of 16-year-olds are killed on the highways, and raising the legal driving age would probably save a bunch of kids (though someone might argue that if we raised the age to 17, more 17-year-olds would be killed).

Traffic accidents are cuased by stupid people who want to do stupid things while they are driving. For example, people who like to talk on their cell phones while driving. Some people cant to both at one time. Then when they hit something its not their fault. Its the people out in the streets who are always trying to drive fast that cause accidents as well. People need to drive and stop trying to show off with whatever they are doing.
i would say that traffic accidents are caused by all of these things and they are all very common.i think that teenagers are more likly to get in accidents not because they are inexperienced but because they drive like crazy people. Over my christmas break i got into a car accident and so did another friend of mine and it was just because the drive weren't paying atttion to what they wre doing.i think that the las about only have one passenger in the car for the first six months is stuid becssue just because it's against the law doesn't mean kids won't do it.And really i don't thin that law is going to help anything it just means that there will be more cars on the road with sixteen year olds driving because they could't go in one car. ao what is that solving?

I think that there are so many reasons why there are auto accidents and that the number should definately decrease. I also believe that it is outrageous how many people are killed each day in an auto accident. I do not know what happens in each incident, but I do believe that there are way too many distractions for drivers of every age. It is insane that people need to talk on the phone or even send text messages while they are driving. I have to admit that I am guilty of these things as well. People need to take a few minutes and get all of their frustrations from the day out of their system before they operate a vehicle. Another cause of fatal accidents is the fact that people get way too caught up in road rage and lose their focus. I think that there are so many more distractions, such as other passengers, music, background noise, other vehicles, and so many others. I do think that drinking and driving is a huge contributing factor in fatal car crashes. I don't know if teens are involved in more accidents than adults, in my opinion I think that it is pretty even and that distractions and speeding are the main factors. I also believe that the accidents would be less fatal if people wore their seat belts more often.

I definately think that teenage drivers are more at risk behind the wheel. The main problem is lack of experience and the first chance of freedom. When every teenager gets their car they like to test the limits and get the car goin as fast as they can. It's just something you do. Drinking and driving are always and issue for teens as well. They get all wasted and then cerfew comes around and they need to be home. Everybody who drinks and drives always thinks their ok to go and then accidents tend to happen. Another problem is that people are way too careless when driving. People try to multi task all the time. The main problem these days are people on cell phones, because they'd rather answer a call than turn on a blinker.

I feel that there are so many people killed in traffic accidents due the amount of technological advancements. Nowadays, there are so many different types of gadgets and gizmos that can distract you that people forget about putting complete focus on the road. I feel that many teenagers feel that are unstoppable and will drive as fast and reckless as they so choose. They do not even think about the consequences that could happen from their actions. Also, there is high rate of drunk driving that leads to many crashes.
