Should abortion be illegal? Why or why not? If not, when should it be "too late" to get an abortion? If so, are there certain cases when you think abortion would be acceptable?
Thanks for you help!

I believe that abortion is wrong, it is MURDER!! Although some people believe if it is the right reason than it's ok. Well if I were pregnat and they told me at three months that my baby would have downs syndrome, I would have that child and love it just as much as my other kids. I believe there are too many people who want children for people to be flushing their babies down the toilet. The baby is still a human being it just ain't fully developed yet. Would you kill your infant because it hasn't developed enough to walk and your tired of carrying it? I really wish that the United States Government would ban all abortions!

I think abortion should remain legal in the United States. Before it was legal, there was a lot of damage done to women and some even died. I do not know when "too late" would be. The woman's safety should be of most importance and I don't know at what point her safety would be risked or at what point the abortion would be termed "a delivery". I strongly feel that an abortion is necessary after a rape or molestation.

I'm not fond of abortion. I believe that from conception, that is a life.
I wait for the day when abortion dosen't have to be illegal--when people just respect human life.
Is this good?--Phil Gould
Hi, Ashley. I feel bad about how the abortion issue has been sort of pushed aside over the last 10 years or so. Meanwhile, many unborn babies continue to be killed. I'm not sure how many abortions occur in the United States every year, but I just read one site that said this:
"In the year 2002, about 1.29 million women in the U.S. had abortions. In 1990, that number was 1.61 million."
Maybe the significant decline in the number of abortions in the United States has something to do with people not making a lot of noise about the issue anymore. But 1.29 million is still a bunch of abortions for a single year, especially to people like me, who think the number should be more like 1,000 or so.
The only cases that I think abortions are okay are when the mother's health is at high risk. In cases when the mother's health is at risk AND the baby is likely to have severe problems leading to a very short life or huge disabilities, I think the woman probably SHOULD have an abortion.
In most cases when the mother's health is not at high risk, I think it's wrong to have an abortion, and this includes cases of unwanted pregnancies caused by accident, rape, or incest. No matter how the baby got there, once it has been conceived its life is as valuable as another life, and to abort the life is murder, in my opinion.

I don't agree with abortion, but I don't think that it should be made illegal. Before it was legalized there were too many women putting themselves in danger to get an illegal abortion. I think that pretty much anytime you get an abortion is too late. The baby is growing immediately, even though you may not be able to see all its humanistic attributes, it's still a person. I think that in situations of rape it is understandable for a woman to want to get an abortion, but there is always the option of adoption. Another situation were it might be ok is if the mothers life is at risk if she has the baby.

I don't think that abortion should be illegal. I think that it should be the choice of the woman that is having it. I'm not sure when it is too late. The reasons that I would think that abortion would be acceptable is when it is dangerous or life-threatning to the mother or baby. Another reason would be incest.
yes abortion should be illegal, it is extremly wrong, its not giving the "newborn" a chance to experience the wounderful life like the baby killer got to expierence. Abortions shouldnt be acceptable in any cases!!.....

Abortion should be illegal, because it is morally wrong. I don't think there are any acceptions to abortion. Unborn children should not be penalized due to our mistakes, whatever they may be.

I am not here to judge others. If they have an abortion then that was their choice. For me, if i was in that situation then i would have the baby because no matter who, when, or where that is a life and i do not have the right to take it. I do believe that as soon as it has a heartbeat then it is a life. If i was the father of an unexpected pregnancy then i would take on full responsibility for my actions.
