Children age 26 and younger will be able to remain covered under their parents health insurance plans (this is increased from past age limits which were anywhere from age 22-25). Medicare recipients will receive a $250 rebate to help in closing the “doughnut hole” (with the goal being to close the doughnut hole completely by 2020). Health insurance companies will be banned from excluding coverage for pre-existing conditions for children. The measure will require most Americans to have health insurance coverage; would add 16 million people to Medicaid and would subsidize private coverage for low- and middle-income people. It will regulate private insurers more closely, banning practices such as denial of care for pre-existing conditions. Now how do you feel about the new bill that was just past in 2010?

Alot of what I have heard is interesting and a bit confusing to me. I don't feel people should be turned away because they don't have insurance, but I also don't feel that we should have to have insurance either, we have choices and it seems that we are getting more and more limited to what we can and can't do anymore. Most of the things won't take into affect for another few years. Hopefully between now and then the glitches in the system will get taken care of.
I am completely against the new healthcare bill. The bill is written in such a way that there are holes in it were anything and anyone can get through it. It was written to make people think that something was being done, but in reality it is going to screw us and put hard working American's in an even deeper hole then they are in right now.

I don't understand everything about the new health care bill but, at least it is a step in the right direction. I personnaly just changed our health care coverage. I can tell you that it is expensive and a large pain in the butt. I have been working on changing providers since the end of Jan. Tons of forms and phone calls later we have coverage but I had to make concessions. I had to go with a company that has a pre-existing policy that is in place for the first year of coverage. That means that for the first year of the policy anything that you have been seen for in the previous year is concidered a pre-existing conditition and will not be covered. So if you have a cronic illness for the first year there is no coverage! Luckly my family is pretty healthy. So for the first year our policy is basically a major mad plan. I feel lucky that we able to afford what we have as there a lot of people out there that can't.

Honestly I am for anything that is good for children. I wish the more original health plan as described by Pres. Obama could have been passed because it was much more comprehensive and allowed people more freedoms to choose their health providers, but some change in this area is much better than none. I know some families who can't afford to take their children to the doctor, and that's just f**ked up in a developed nation like the U.S. Yes, healthcare will be expensive and cause tax inscreases, but did you know that the U.S. pays far lower taxes than people do in most developed countries? It's about time the rich started helping out the poor more.

I think that this plan is pretty good. I mean it does have it flaws but overall more Americans will have health insurance and that is what we all want. I also really like the part that children can stay under their parents plan longer. This gives the college graduate more time to find a stable job to be able to afford health insurance or get it through their job. I also think its great the children can't get turned down because of pre-exsiting conditions! Overall I hope this plan works out for the country and that more people will be covered.

I think the health plan sound good, but everything that sounds good isn't good. With new things comes new problems and this new bill will have problems. But children will get the healthcare that they need, that is good. It will give people with out healthcare the change to get the care that they really need--I hope. Going to the doctor and getting medicine is expensive. We just will have to wait to see what the out come will be and hopeful it will be good things.

I dont think that it is right to kick someone out on the street because they dont have health care. Everyone should have an equal chance to receive some sort of medical treatment. I can understand that if someone wants liposuction but doesnt have health care, then they shouldnt be able to get the treatment.

I agree that as the years go on the less control we have on things. I dont really understand all the health care stuff but I think it will be a big help for college students for their parents to have then on their health insurance a little longer since most people are going to school longer.

This is an excellent step in the right direction for our country. I don't understand why some people always think the government is out to get you.

No one should be turned away if there hurt, thats just stupid it's just a little card. I feel like people don't really understand it at all. It sound okay but when it sounds to good to be true something is wrong you know it's not right. I don't really know alot about it if it's going to let everybody have health care then im down for it.

I've heard bits and pieces about the new health care bill passing but its a bit confusing to me. I am eighteen so I should probably pay attention to politics and whats going on in life that will affect me later. All I can comment on is what I've been hearing from people I know and that in the long run it's going to screw over people like me and my family who have to work for every penny we get because it will probably get taken away. I also agree that more and more things are happening in the government that we keep having less control over, or even just opinions.

i really dont understand how the new bill works nor do i no all the small little details of it, however if its gonna benifit the people then i agree with it, i find the idea of denying people midical attention just because they dont have insurance absured, if people are actually sick and need the medical attention then they should get it, however this means that if everyone were insured then everyone has access to medical supplies,so i think theres gonna be a shortage of supplies and medical attention..this is the a reason why i think some people might be against it, for example if you and your family has had insurance for many years, and lets say yuor kidd needed medical attention in a life threatin situattion and was denied or not treated in time cause a homeless guy, who got insurance through this bill, got admited first to recieve the same attention, then i can see why people would be against it

I dont think this plan is good because of the time they spent on it. Obama rammed it down congresses throats, so congress had no time to disect it. Then the democrats threw in extra things that did not have to do with healthcare called footnotes. They did not let the republicans to disect the bill either. They have no say in it. This has been going on from both sides since the parties formed. This bill will say it does stuff to help us out but it is all a lie. They screw us over either way no matter what they preach. It will change once the republicans are in office and then they will find a way to screw us as well. It is all for the greed and power.
