Torture in U.S prisions

In the United States when people go to prision you do not (usually) get tortured or beat, but if you go to prision in Abu Ghraib or Guantanamo, you get dressed like a girl, put on a leash, and dogs are set after you. These two prisions are under United States Military control and get away with these sorts of cruel acts because they claim these two prisons are not on U.S soil. So does that give them the right to torture someone?
Please let me know your opinion on this. Thanks.

Hell yes i think there should be torture in the prisons that hold terrorist. If the gov. thinks a terrorist has info that will save American lives than i say torture the shit outta that MoFo and if they torture him real bad and he doesnt know anything so what

i think that torture should be a form of getting information from a terrorist or something but i dont its right to do that to other people, because if i were in prison over seas i woulnd want to get tortured. but i also think that most people who are in prison had it coming to them

My thoughts on this are that if the prison isn't on US soil, then who gives a fuck. Most of the people there have ties with terrorists. If you think about it, if we were in a prison in and the Paki's were running it, they would do worse things to us then we do to them. All of those videos of terrorists cutting captured Americans' heads off, if thats not fucked up then I don't know what is. So all in all, bend over ladies.

I agree with the first blogger on torturing the terrorist. But, when it involves torturing someone who doesn't know anything or has no affiliation with terrorism, that's when the torturing should be stopped. And the U.S. saying that they can't do anything because the prisons are not on U.S. soil is a load of bull shit because if the Military is running them, then the U.S. is in control of that territory.

it doesnt give them the right to torture people, but shit, they probably deserve it if they end up there!

You have got to be kidding me. Torture should never be allowed. What gives anyone the right to hurt another? We have government spy agencies that should have protected us from 9/11 but they didn't should they be tortured and made to tell what maybe they really don't know? I don't think so.

If someone steals from you and damages your most prize possession does that give you the right to go out, find them, lock them in a room and beat the crap out of them? No. We call the police and have our infamous judicial system take care of the problem.

I do not understand how anyone can agree with any kind of inhumane action.

Instead of patting these people on the back we should be writing our congressmen and having a stop put to it.

I believe torture should be used as a tatic in order 2 retrieve, information that could be vital in saving the lives of innocent human beings at risk of terror. no matter the color of skin or the difference in the way they choose 2serve or praise 1 God.I also believe the individuals in position of power in this world are all Terrorist especially the Forefathers of this corporation we call U.S.A. So don't be 2 quick 2 defend the actions of genocide promoting mind states by those who dominate the world using 50 classmate T ware

I think forms of torture should be put on people that aren't giving out information. Should it be beating until death? No. If terrorists are being held and aren't giving anything up, then torture them. They've done things against our country that have killed innocent people, what's a little harmless beating?

If it gets the answers we need, then to a certain extent I'm okay with it.

If they are a terrorist caught in the act or plannning such as blueprints and bombs scamatics, then yes i think they should be tortured until they give us the info we need to stop an attack or till they die. But if they have no connections to terrorists, i believe it really depends on what they did to get in there how much they should be tortured, because they obviously did something really horrible to get in there, so i think they deserve it. Its kind of karma in a way gettin them back for what they did.

The right to have some one tortured depends on what the prisoner did. If the prisoner was a sick piece of work that messed with peoples’ heads before they murdered them and ate their bodies then yeah, they deserved to be tortured! Although in my honest opinion that person should be killed and I not have my tax dollars wasted on them. But if the person did a small, petty crime then no, they shouldn’t be tortured. And those that did a mediocre crime, like armed theft with no one getting hurt, then some rough handling and a cuff here and there couldn’t hurt the idiot. Again it’s all in how bad the crime is, I’m a strong believer for an the saying of “An eye for an eye.”

I think that torture should be used against terrorist. I think its right, and if we can get some information that might save lives innocent peoples lives but we have to make sure that the right people are in those prisons.

Terrorist know that they will most likely get tortured in prison but they still do the pointless things they do. The crime rate is most likely higher in these countries than the U.S. and soething has to be done to get the rate to come down.

i defintly think they should be allowed to do whatever the us military needs to do to get the shit out of the motherfuckers. i would rather torture a few 100 muslims if it keeps them from blowing up more of are shit. hell if they need some more help torturing them dumbass gimme a call id be glad to help!

i think that not only terrorist should be tortured but some other inmates in normal prison. Rapist murderers and other savage criminals should be tortured because they will never know the pain and suffering that they have put someone through. most serial killers are locked up in a place for life where they can beat other inmates have a warm place to sleep and hot meals. which doesnt seem like a punishment at all. there are some people in this country that would be thankful for a place to sleep and food to eat

im not against or for it. it would suck to get tortured over there and it probably shouldnt happen, but it is an affective way of getting volluable info, and i also agree with dereck that if it was one US in one of THEIR prisons it would be ALOT worse then what we're doing

Jossy, i feel that tourture is wrong. think about it, contrary to what nick said, if we tourture people, how can we expect those people NOT to tourture the same? tourture is wrong, even though it happends a lot more than any of us know...

hey this ones for pam.....do you really think if some guy came and stole your car, wrecked it and was caught by the police that he would learn from his mistake by getting locked up for awhile. IT really doesnt many people who commit crimes are repeat offenders. i believe if someone steals from another they should get the shit beat out of them. mabye break there arm that way they have 6 weeks of pain. locking people up usually doesnt help it just makes them resist police even more and makes them want to go out and do some bullshit agian.

Torture in prisions, why do you care? Does it affect you? Probably not. If those people are in there, its probably for a reason, like-TRYING TO KILL AMERICAN SOILDERS maybe. I know THEY have no problem torturing and killing us, why should we? If you really think its that bad, join the military, go there and try to stop it. You would probably get laughed at and/or get you ass kicked by the people on your left and right. Im sure there are people who dont deserve it but, well, thats not my problem.

English student said...

The kind of torture that the American solders are preforming on these prisoners is an unleathal one. They are using these melthodes to get information. Sure the United States doesnt support torture, but i think if its on a terrorist to get information then it is ok. I dont suport the idea of physicaly harming someone to get information. The Army doesnt use harmful torture because they say that the prisoner is more likely to not give up information. I do support the use of unlethal torture against terrorists. After all, they would do worse things to American troops.

How people find it in themselves to torture another human being is beyond me. But, if torture is really getting important information out of the terrorist and it's the only way to get them to talk; then I say do it. They did do something wrong in the first place. It's not like they are just capturing innocent citizens they are capturing people that have already done harm to many other innocent people.

I think that there are certain forms of torture that are alright. but i don't think that torture that physically hurt people or are just inhumane is right. I think if the government takes care of these prisons, and are in control of them, then they shouldnt be able to torture people like that. It doesnt matter if it is on US soil or not. We still take responisibility for those prisons, and that doesnt look good on our part if that kind of torture is happening.

Giving someone a free meal and a place to work out does not sound like punishment to me. I think that if more...intense jailtime, was installed, crimes would die down because they wouldn't want to have that happen to them. There should be some sort of "torture" to them to teach them a lesson. Otherwise they get out and commit a crime again and go back in for free housing and food. Is it wrong? Maybe. Will it get the job done? Most likely.

whether or not they are under us control if they are not on us soil then we really cant control it. in other countries torture is allowed. i think we should treat foreiners in our prisons they same they would trear us in theres.

I dont believe that any torture or beatings should be allowed in any US prison no matter where it is at. It makes our country look bad as a whole, even if it happens out side of the actual United States, we are still in control of the situation and we have ultimate control over it.

English student said...

no it does not but they have diffrent ways at looking at things then we do.
