Illegal Immigration

Do you think immigrants should be able to cross the border and have the same rights as everyone else? Do you think they should be able to become legal citizens? Do you think they should be able to get jobs before legal immigrants because of cheaper labor? Do you think they should be legalized because they marry a legal citizen? Should we be stricter with the consequences of getting caught? What should it take to become a legal citizen?

I don't think that immigrants should be able to illegally cross the border and get the same rights of course not. There are a lot of other ways to come to America like a green card, it doesn't make you a citizen, but you can still work here if your allowed and do a lot of what we can. If you want to be a citizen take the test and become a citizen. Yeah I think they should be able to become a citizen...but I also think we're running out of room for everyone from other countries when there are more than enough Americans here and the number isn't declining. I don't think they should be able to get jobs before legal immirgrants because they went through all of the hard work to be here and they didnt get anything handed to them for free.
I think the test they have to pass is good enough it's already going to be hard to learn so much about a country you know nothing about especially if you can barely speak english, but it is possible!

I think that eventually all immigrants should become citizens but to do that they should go through the processes. I don't think that illegal immigrants should be given that right and they usually aren't but its the fact that they hide what they are is the part that is not helping our country. So the immigrants should definitely get jobs before illegal immigrants since they are going to be citizens.
i don't think that they should marry a citizen to become a citizen...maybe if they wait until they are a citizen...that would be better to me but in all actuality that's kinda a bad way to view things.

Being stricter would help with our illegal immigrant problem, but then if so they should have a process to be able to go through to get into the country so they can become legal. Every one should have the opportunity to have a successful life. Being in America can help some people but only if they go about things the right way. If some one is illegal i think that the consequences of getting caught should be arrest and then being sent back to their country. Simple as that.

To become a legal citizen i think that they should just go through the steps already in place. But I'd also like to see them get a good education if they are children. Don't slack off if you work hard to get in a country that you want to be successful in, then its not going to be worth it!!

I don't know if any of that is rude but i do want to add that i don't necessarily have a problem with LEGAL immigrants. They work hard and they want to be a productive part of the community. the illegal immigrants are the ones that irk me though. If a business find out then they cant get hired and then they just file for unemployment and use of valuable taxpayers money...I think that's just being lazy... but i realize that things can be hard. But if they just get a green card things would be far easier for them....

I am absolutely fine with any immigrants crossing our border whenever they want to. This is not our land; it belongs to everyone. If I wanted to cross into Mexico or Canada, I would do that, and if they tried to stop me, I would have no problems sneaking in, just as people do into our country--because of the border police.

I have read recently that illegal immigration is decreasing rapidly because fewer and fewer jobs are to be found in the U.S.

Anyway, my main point is this: just because we got lucky and were born in the United States, that gives us no right to keep others out. Everyone has to share in this world, and the sooner we all learn that, the better.\

I think this is kind of 50/50 controversy because in 1 hand you have those immigrants who don't bring decent things to our community and just live off our state aid. Then you have other people who cross the border who work as hard if not harder than legal "working" Americans! So it's really a matter of principal on what each state should allow!

I think that eventually immigrants should be able to become a citizen if they go through a process. But, I don't think that illegal immigrants should have the same rights which they usually aren't. So I think immigrants should get jobs before the illegal immigrants since they will be citizens. This is hard because some bring good things to our country and some don't but, I think its not right for illegal ones to come and not go through a process.

I believe that if you are coming into his country illegally than no you don’t have the same rights as everyone else. You chose to come here illegally and if you are caught you should be immediate shipped back to your home country. Like every rule there are exceptions, if they have children and the other parent can support themselves on their own then they should be able to stay. I don’t think that illegally immigrants should be able to get jobs before legally ones or even us Americans. Company’s and corporations hire them because they don’t have to pay taxes on them as works so it is cheaper for them. I also think that the process with which immigrants become citizens needs to be speeded up or shortened. There are immigrants that wait years and years before they even become citizens.

I don’t think that immigrants should be able to cross the border and have the same rights as everyone else, it’s not like we go to Mexico an try to get the same for us as they are in the U.S. I mean there are a lot of ways that you can come in to the U.S. legally an people still come illegally an then they get found out an then they wonder why they are going back to where they came from. I really don’t think that it’s totally fair that the can come legal if they marry someone. So basically your saying that they can just marry some random person an become a citizen. In my personal opinion I think that there should be tougher laws against getting caught. If people what to become a legal citizen they should have to know how to speak English and if they are going to be in America they should only speak English. An a lot of the same laws would stay the same but I think that they just need to check over on the person before they just grant them citizenship.

No, immigrants that cross over the border illegally shouldn't get rights to become an American citizen. People that actually go through border line legally then yes they should get a shot at becoming American. The illegal immigrants should work twice as hard then the legal one and they shouldn't get jobs before them either. If they marry someone maybe i can see them becoming an American citizen but should have to take the test that all others have to before actually being a citizen. They way the have it now is a good way a test to that you have to know like real u.s citizens we have to take the constitution. The ones that are jumping over the border we need to do something about because there just getting things handed to them when others work hard. So it could change a little to help out.

I do feel like they should be able to cross the border because. our American motto is free rights and freedom then why the hell do we deny or look down on immigrants who want to start a new life for themselves. after if we made the motto we have to stick with it not deny it.

God loves everyone as one single person, why can't everyone get along and not judge everyone else? why can't we all have the same rights ? i do believe EVERYONE should have the same rights as everyone else. noone should be treated different. i don't think they should be treated different, especially with money. we bitch about work , on different levels, why should we make them work for less and work harder? when all they are trying to do is be human and raise there familys too. but to become a legal citizen you should prov your right into being here. i do belive that.

There is a difference between crossing the border being legal and illegal. I feel that anyone that comes here legal should be able to get the same rights as everyone if they go through the whole process of becoming a citizen. The same for who came here illegally, but they should go through a different process. I feel that the process right now that the U.S. takes if well done and people just need to do the research to become a citizen. Yes it has become harder to become one now a days, but just have to work hard because there will always be opportunities in this country to achieve your dreams.

After seeing how the percentage of americans who are out of jobs, i think we can partially blame it on bosses who have hired illegal immigrants to do normal work for a much much cheaper price. I think that everyone deserves a chance to become a citizen, but not by running across the boarder. They must take the test and become one is the most fair way.
