Success

How do you define success? What does it take for you to accomplish it? Who do you feel are successful? Who helps you reach your success in life? When you hear someone say "he's a very successful man," what do you picture, or what does that make you think of? When you hear someone say, "she's a very successful woman," what do you picture, or what does that make you think of?

Thanks for your help!

My belief about being successful is accomplishing something that was challenging in order to achieve a dream you might have set out. When I think of a successful man or woman, the image that comes to mind is both has worked hard to achieve their occupations, both have succeeded in parenting and are involved in their children's lives, and both have finacial as well as emotional stability in their houses as well as their lives.

THE DEFINITION OF SUCCESS IS:1.A FAVORABLE RESULT 2.THE GAINING OFWEALTH,FAME,ECT. HOWEVER, MY DEFINITION WOULD BE MORE SIMILIAR TO ROCKYS. I REALLY LIKE WHAT HE SAID.WHAT IT TAKES TO ACCOMPLISH IT IS STRENGTH AND DETERMINATION.I FEEL AS IF LOTS OF PEOPLE THAT I KNOW ARE SUCCESSFUL.IF YOU ARE ONE OF THE LUCKY ONES, YOU WILL HAVE A STRONG FAMILY AND GROUP OF FRIENDS TO SUPPORT YOU AND HELP YOU REACH YOUR GOALS.WHEN I HEAR SOMEONE SAY"HES A VERY SUCCESSFUL MAN," I PICTURE SOMEONE IN A BUSINESS SUIT BY DAY, NOT WANTING FOR ANYTHING FINANCIALLY AND GOING HOME EACH NIGHT TO A PERFECT LIL FAMILY IN A PERFECT LIL HOME WITH WONDERFUL KIDS AND MAYBE A DOG AT HIS FEET WHILE THE WHOLE FAMILY EATS DINNER TOGETHER AND SHARES HOW THEIR DAYS WENT.I MAY BE A BIT OLD FASHIONED, BUT WHEN I HAER IT ABOUT A WOMAN I PICTURE HER AT HOME BAKING COOKIES, PLANTING A GARDEN, TAKING CARE OF HER LOVELY HOME THAT HER HANDSOME MAN WITH TWO GREAT KIDS COME HOME TO EACH NIGHT. ACTIVE IN HER CHURCH AND COMMUNITY ON THE SIDE AFTER HER HOMELIFE IS TAKEN CARE OF. YES...LIKE I SAID...OLD FASHIONED.

I don't believe you can define success on a personal level. I think it is too broad of a topic. Someones definition of success could be different than everyone else. Someone who is poor could define success as getting through each day. My definition of success is living a good life with a good family. but someone else could be totally different then mine.

Success to me is being able to support yourself and family financially, emotionally and spiritually. By being well educated and continously climbing the ladder to better your career.

When I was younger successful to me was making lots of money and having an important job--a job where you are publicly recognized. Success to me now is living a life that has a positive impact on the people who surround you. Your family, community, strangers. Will people remember you for the good that you did in this world? Are you a giver and not a taker? If you make a positive impact on those who are touched by you, makes you successful.

I do not believe success is something that can generally be defined for everyone. Success is completely different for everyone. You could be a billionaire living anywhere you want but not have a family or anyone who loves you. I don't feel like this person is successful just because they have money. I think that a person could have no money at all and still be a very successful person because they are doing what they want to do. There are many people such as missionaries who do not make a lot of money but are still successful because they are helping people and they are probably happier than the person many a billion dollars a year.

Success isn't measured by wealth or success to me. Success is when a person achieves the goal(s) that he or she set for themselves. If you own a fortune 500 company and have a 6 million dollar house but are unhappy because you have nobody to share it with, then in my book you're not very successful.

success is defined within your self. your own accomplishments make you who you are. many say that success is in wealth but its really within your self

I define success as being happy with your career and earning enough money to support your lifestyle. I feel many people in my life are successful including both of my parents. Success is not only about money also it is about being happy with what you do. I think parents are great helpers on your path to success. They are there when you need guidance and have gone through many things that you are going through. I picture a very successful businessman living in a nice house with a good job that he is happy at and has a nice family. Thinking of successful people reminds me of my father, he is very happy with what he does and always tries his best to improve in all aspects of life.

I believe that success is a place in life that you are happy and comfortable with. If your mission is to open up a day care and you succeed to do so then you are successful. If your mission is to be a stay at home mom, then you are also successful. Making millions of dollars does not necessarily mean that you are successful if you are not happy with yourself. Always push yourself to be better and by doing that you are a successful person

My definition of success is the accomplishment of a dream or goal that you have set out for your self. I feel that it takes a lot of self motivation and commitment to obtain success. I feel that "successful" people are citizens who have done well financially and in the job market. They are usually are business owners and upper management people that could be thought as successful. On the other hand it could really be anyone. If someone had a small goal in life and they achieved, you could say they are successful.

Success to me is accomplishing all of the goals that you set for yourself. Success is looked at very differently through many peoples eyes. No one besides your self can determine if you are successful or not. It shouldn't be measure by the car you drive, or the size of your house, but by what you get from your life. When I picture success I think of myself accomplishing all of my long term goals and have a family of my own that I can support.

I think that success is accomplishing a set goal in life. I consider doctors, lawyers, engineers, and teachers to be among the most well known success "stories". I think that people around me (family, friends, and instructors) help me to accomplish my set goals in life. I am successful because of all the help that I receive from those around me. When I hear someone say something like he is a very successful man it makes me think of how hard that individual must have worked to get to that position. I think that same thing no matter if the person is a male or a female. Success is not measured by gender or ethnicity. Success is measured by achievement.

I define success when you are happy with your life. Someone is successful when they have a steady job and are happy with what they do. I think of someone that is successful when they have a steady income and can provide for their family. A successful person is happy with what they have done in their life and can say they wouyldn't regeret anything!

Success is defined on an individual basis. If you are happy with yourself, I feel that you are successful. This issue is fairly easy.

My definition of success is accomplishing a goal that you set, whether long term or not. Or achieving something that you set your mind to. Depending on the goal it may take you a long time to achieve it, a lot of time and very hard work, all of your effort. For example, one of my goals is to take my show horse to Pinto worlds in OK in a couple years and it's a two week show, training him so that he is ready is going to take all of my time, sweat, patience, and determination to reach that goal. I feel that people who have achieved what they want in life and are happy, are successful. Friends and family are the ones that help you reach your success, you can't do it alone. When someone says "he's a very successful man or woman" I picture them having a happy, stable family they go home to every night, financially stable is nice too.
