HYPNOSIS

Have you ever been hypnotized? Do you believe in it? Do you think hypnosis can be a reputable form of therapy? Can it be used more throughout the world to help people get over their addictions to food, smoking ,and all the many fears people are faced with today?

I don't believe that hypnosis is anything other than a play on the power of suggestion. In order to be hypnotized, one has to believe that they can be hypnotized. Also, any of the messages received during hypnosis can only actually be received if the person wants to receive and believe them.
I once tried hypnosis to help me quit smoking and the "therapist" couldn't hypnotize me, so needless to say that idea didn't work.

I do believe in hypnosis as a form of therapy. I don't believe in the watching the watch and your eyes are getting heavy deal. I would think that it would have to be somewhat drug induced to the point of just about being unconscious and then you couold make suggestions to the mind of the person. I think that there needs to be more thought into homeopathic medicine instead of just giving everyone a pill for everything.

I don't believe hypnosis is a for or therapy. I don't think that it "train" ones mind to believe that smoking, or eating is or isn't good for oneself. If you believe in something so much, or have the will to smoke, no one is going to be able to talk you out of it, it has to be a decision made on your own. You have to want to help yourself, and do good for yourself. I don't believe you could be hypnotized into stopping any of this.

I do not believe that hypnosis can be used for therapy reasons. I think that when most people are being hypnotized they are faking it. At my post prom last year we had a hypnotist come to hypnotize us seniors. I did not ever go under and neither did any of my friends.

I do believe in hypnosis as a form of therapy but it is definitely a psychological thing. If you want to be hypnotized or you believe in it--you will be hypnotized. But it won't work on those who don't believe in it. In terms of using hypnosis to help an addict quit smoking for example, I think it would prove to be successful if they go into it with the mindset of being "cured" as an addict. Because when it all comes down to it, it's all about will power.

No i have never been hypnotized and I dont really belive in it. I think hypnotized is something your body does to it self not someone does to your body. I do not think it can help someone with an addiction or any fears people face.

Personally i believe that hypnosis isn't real as far as making somebody a duck but it can be used to put ideas in one's head, such as dieting or quieting smoking.

I don't think so. I think you should ask God for guidance, not some crazy hypnotizer.

I have been hypnotized. Good Morning America had a segment about 3 years ago with Diane Walters walking through fire. She trained with a hypnotist and a group of 10 people. The first question she asked was 'what would you walk through fire for?' victory over something? a change for the better? relaxation? So, on the show Diane and the other candidates had a mantra the helped them to ezude strength 'Jaguar' was the strength producing word. The one thing that I took from the program was that you really can overcome something that is scary and be ok kind of like an additional coping skill. So I did the self-hypnosis part. They asked that you visualize a split screen, the left half of the screen was a huge traffic jam and cars where miles and miles long and wide. The other side of the screen was a beautiful rainbow and a clear sky. Focusing on the right side of the screen although you can still see the left side relaxes your mind and allows you to deal with the situation. I find this skill to be great when faced with a long drive or a situation that is uncomfortable it comes in handy.

I think this form of self-help is great for smokers and people with an ingrained fear of heights or aminals even inananament objects.

I do not believe in hypnosis. I have never been hypnotized nor do I ever want to be I actually do not think that hypnosis works. No I do not think that hypnosis can take away an addiction from someone. Based on my belief I believe that only God can do that and yourself.
