I don't believe this is an outdated law. It was made by very smart people who were looking out for the citizens of the US.

I like my guns and would not give them up for anything. How would you enforce this law? We can't keep illegal immigrants, drugs or anything else from coming into the country. What makes you think we could enforce this?
We make far too many laws in this country. Lets put our efforts into fixing what is broken first. Education, Illegal immigration, the national deficit, hunger in America, critical infrastructure and the rest of the crap that's broken before we try to break something that is already fixed.

i think that guns should be giving to the ones who really need it such as protection not because you got some heat with somebody and you want to silence someone type protection but the someones breaking into your house constantly type of protection or recreation type uses.

There would just be more physical violence if you remove the weapons.I dont think that amending the second amendment would be the answer to decreasing the violence with in America.I think the answer might lie in higher punishment for the miss use of weapons. In my opinion if you murder someone (who was not threatening to take you or someone elses life in some way) you should be executed. We are just not strict enough on the actual bad people in our country.

I belive our second amendment is a very important i am a hunter and i love and need my guns. i dont belive having guns if you have a foid card and are awere that a gun is more powerful than you and you respect it you will be safe. i do not belive there should be a no gun law it will just make all the hunters and rna members go crazy and it will make smuggling guns into this country even more of a problem i love my guns and i do not belive our second amenment is a problem it is one of the best amendment we have as citizens of this awsome country.

The second amendment is a great amendment. People should have the right to protect them selves and familys. The right to bear arms is important because criminals have guns. Just because it is illgeal to have guns will not stop criminals. Guns are good for protection and hunting/sporting use, there is no way there should be a gun control law. Guns dont kill people, people kill people.

I believe that there should be gun safety laws, but I do not think we should have gun control. The Constitution was designed and written to give rights to the citizens and to protect those rights. The governments only job is to protect the rights of the citizens and allow the states to individually govern themselves. The fact still remains that the vast majority of guns are owned legally by citizens who have the proper licenses and training, and most are used for hunting and other sport, not violent crimes. I agree that the crime rate in America is high compared to the rest of the world, but America also has more liberty and rights than other countries. I also believe that harsher punishment for criminals will cut down on this.

I think you have to consider the context and the time that the 2nd amendment was written. We were entering new territories within North America and as many historians would say, we were also stealing the lands that belonged to the native people of this nation. As the law relates to current gun controls and peoples right to bear arms, should we hold a huge dis-armament day and have everyone turn in their weapons?
Those people who use this right as a way of crime are already using the law incorrectly. Many criminals get guns illegally use them illegally and conceal them illegally. If you amend the law you are sort of taking away from the purpose to protect the citizens of the nation and yourself. Some people legally have guns, use them correctly, lock them away from their children and if and when they have to use them they will be prepared. Ok, yeah there are crimes of passion but they are just that crimes, against the law and people who use their guns in that manner will be prosecuted and go to jail. There are some nations like Haiti that have very few laws concerning guns and numerous laws about bullets. Some people say the law protects the people and prevents violence by increasing the price of bullets. There are also countries like England that allow you to carry weapons if you apart of a religious sect. The police in that nation also carry guns with rubber bullets to subdue the aggressor. There are also alternatives to guns such as stun guns and pepper spray. Allot of people would say 'I want the gun with the real bullets' but do you? Do you really want to be responsible for the death of another human being, a person that also has hopes and dreams even though they just had a bad day. I personally have never had the opportunity to meet my grandmother, she was killed by two children playing with guns in a window. She was a school teacher with 9 children and a husband at war. In my home I don't even allow water guns. Tyreis Robinson (8:00)

Guns I believe should be available to those that are law abiding and only used for protection. There should be a very lengthly process in order to obtain and possess a gun.

I dont think it is outdated. I feel like most of the people who use guns for crime dont actually have a lisence for them, or what ever it is. I dont have a gun personally, but I know my parents want to get one because of all the crimes that are going on in Springfield. So I believe that is is alright for this law to still be active.

I believe that no one should be able to own a gun unless its part of your job such as a police officer. Because I feel like if no one had a gun no one would need a gun to protect themselves. No I do not think that it should be altered that would only make things worse. I see it as a violent weapon which can kill and destroy people, homes, neighborhood, and so much more. I do not believe that a gun should be the way to handle the situation.

i think people should always have the right to bear arms. People have families and loved ones to protect and if they need a gun to insure their protection then so be it..
