There has been great controversy on whether animals should be used for cosmetic and scientific research and testing. Some people say yes because they say there is no other way to test these products to see if it is safe for human use; others say no because the animals have rights and that scientists need to find an alternative ways to conduct their experiments. So who's right? Should animals be used for testing? Or should scientists work harder on finding other alternatives? Please explain your reasons for your views.

I think that animals should not be just takin of the streets and used or takin from the pond. i belive if the scientits are going to use the animals for testing then they need to raise animals just for testing. i have mixed feelings about animal testing because i have a dog and a cat and i would not want them ever hurt, but however the tests do need to be performed to help better understand the products. I am sorry if this does not help with your question i just have mixed feelings about the subject so i am going to say i think animal testing is okay but i would like scientist to have animals just for testing raise them in the lab and use them just for that perpose.

I think its wrong to test products on animals. If they could talk to you in sure they would tell you the same thing.I Understand scientists need to test their products, but I wish they could find a more humane way of doing it.Animals that are tested on and end up dieing didn't do anything to deserve that.So with that being said, I think testing things on animals is wrong and very sad.

This subject to me is very controversial, and I believe that we should use animals for scientific testing. In order for finding cures and medication for things such as HIV or cancer we need to continue testing out new medications. We can't do this safely on humans so there needs to be an alternative--animals. I do like animals, but feel that they are the only way that we truly can find cures for such illnesses.

I think this is quite a touchy subject for most. I however, agree that the testing does need to be done and like t. farmer said, scientists should raise the animals just for this testing. After all, we can't exactly test on humans, although i think that would be ideal, since the testing on animals is for human cures. And i think that certain testing should be done. for instance, testing to find cures for diseases, definitely; testing for perfumes and new fragrances, why? idk, just my thoughts, i suppose.

i feel that animals should not be the test dummies for more experiments, if anything they should continu to use mice and rates. this should be against the law in every state

I think that the testing needs to be done on something and because it cannot be done on humans, the only alternative is animals. I wish for the animal's sake there was another way to know whether or not a drug is safe but there just is not right now. A lot of things can be learned through the way the animal reacts and with animals similar to humans, many diseases have been cured or treatments have been found. Hopefully in the future, there will be a different way to find out whether or not a drug is safe for human use without having to use an animal to find out.

Animal testing is wrong. Animals can feel too. If we, as humans, are going to use the product, then we should be the ones to have to test it.

I don't think testing on animals is right. They are just like human beings. They have feelings just like us. I think that scientists should find something else to test on. Animals didn't do anything to anyone. They shouldn't have to go through everything that scientists put them through.

I am of the opinion that animals do in fact have rights. At the same time though I believe that the rights/safety of human benings are more important than the rights of animals. Since there does not seem to be any other way at present to test products to see if they are safe for human use testing on animals should be continued. However, I also believe that scientist should work harder on finding alternatives for research and testing products.

I do not believe it is ok to test products on animals. They have no voice and can not stand up for themselves. Why choose a breathing animal to test unsafe products on? because they can not talk? I am sure that scientist could find an alternative way to test out produts. I mean they have found alternatives for electricity and gas so why continue to test products on living breathing souls.

I feel that we should test things on animals rather than humans. If the product affects the animal in a bad way than we can just put the animal down, whereas humans we can't do that. I like animals and I hate to see them die and treated inhumanly for no good reason, but that is the difference between humans and animals.

If it doesn't harm the animal then i am all for using them for testing. The main point here is the safety of the animal. Animal testing has been done for many years and is a very affective way of making sure that products are safe for human use. I think scientist still should look for alternatives though because the more options we have for testing the better.

I feel there are circumstances where you should test on animals and then there are other times it's not ok. I feel for cosmetics and things of that nature it is wrong most of the time because if people just took better care of there body and didn't care so much about on how they look all the time make- up wouldn't be need as much. therefor you wouldn't need animals to test on. On the fact that we use animals to test for cure to diseases and conditions I feel we should absolutely test on animals because it could save peoples and possibly animals life in the long run. We aren't goanna test on ourselves, atht's for sure so what other alternative do we have. I say if you can eat meat and kill animals for food then why not use animals for other purposes too. There are times when I feel killing animals are wrong, or testing on animlas are wrong but there are plenty of reasons where it's completely fine.

An alternative way of testing would be better. I can not imagine someone doing experiments on my dog. If you have ever looked an animal in the eyes you can see they have a soul. They feel pain just as we do. I think the animals in the poster you have chosen are being tortured. Just like the people that Hitler tortured.

I disapprove on testing on animals. I absolutely have a big love for animals and I do not think it's right for scientists to put them to harm. If scientists would find alternatives to do their testing, it would be great. Animals have their own family to take care of just like us. They have a right to live even if we can not understand them.

I don't think that cosmetics are important enough of an issue to test on animals. I feel that animal testing could be effective on important things like medicines, but cosmetics are not a huge concern.

I belive its harsh how we use them like that but then again who else would test them. An animal is a living thing too maybe it doesnt think or feel the say way but they are a living thing.I always thought why would we test on animals if they will not have the same reaction to a human, but atleast it will help us better understand dangerous illnesses.
cgonzz(11:00)
If it's for cosmetic usage then no. Because after people realize that buying that lipstick, or getting a face lift, etc. They just added to killing a innocent animal. They may not realize it, but these animals will be disformed, etc. If you were to see that happen to you, what would you do. You have no control over it, but as humans we have control over it, we can stop it. For science purposes, there should be a limit, and for a reason that it allows, but the company that harmed animals should have to publically announce how they found the results.

No! No! No! Animals can feel pain too. They are not immune to pain just because they aren't human.Animals may not be able to speak for themselves, but that doesn't mean that people can experiment on them. Animals have ways of telling us to stop and listen. Maybe we sould try to listen more closely to what they are trying to say and not just think that they are at our disposal.
