Are police officers fair? Have you ever felt harassed by the frequency of stops or reasons behind them? Has a cop ever committed a crime against you?

I have been harassed by police before.I was stoped for speeding. the officer asked if I had been smoking weed,I said no,then he asked what was on the front seat,and I looked and it was dried leaves
that had fell out of a tree. I had a sun roof and had parked under a tree.So he asked me to get out of the car,and I told him,I had never been asked to get out of my car after being stop for speeding. Before I knew it he open the door of my car and grabed me,and threw me to the ground,put hes knee in the center of my back and handcuffed me. The side of my face was bleeding from hitting the street. The next thing I know I here a dog barking. They went threw my car,tore my seats,pulled my dash board out and didn't find anything. I am fighting them in court to this very day,over what had happen to me.
Some police officers are not fair, that is nature of it. On the other hand i believe most police officers are fair. One bad apple spoils the bunch, and thats why police get such a bad rap. I had once thought that i had had my rights violated by the police, i went to the police station the next morning to make a complaint against the officers and to do so i had to speak to one of the lieutnents in charge. After telling him my story he calmly described why the other officers acted as they did and why they were trained to act that way. What i am trying to say is, you should try to see the situation from there point of view. If you still feel that you have been treated unfairly go and speak to someone in charge and see what he has to say. -Alex Gentner-
I believe most cops are fair. Some cops feel like since they wear the badge they can do any thing they want. My uncle is a retired cop and he said he has seen many "cops" act in a way that got them into too much trouble. No I have never been in a predicament with the police.

Well no police officers are not fair. Everything they do is to their own discression. If they are having a bad day they can write you tickets or pick on you all they want. They can easily find something that you do wrong just driving three blocks. Driving three blocks you are bound to do something wrong in driving. I personally have never been picked on by a police officer. I do know many people that have been picked on by police officers. It has something to do with your name and who is your family some times, and it also has to have something to do with your background. Even if you have changed they are not going to let you down for that untill they see for themselves that you have really changed.

There are good cops and there are ass hole cops. I've incountered both and it ain't shit like being pulled over by a ass hole cop. Its police that are so crooked and dirty dey should be the ones getting locked up. If you don't believe me go to a town in the south suburbs of chicago called Harvey TRUST ME every where you go its a crooked cop somewhere in the area.

i have had a few problems with the gifford cops, not to mention any names(Sean Weary). but they think if you ve got loud pipes and smoked windows you are always lookin for trouble. ive got pulled over by him numerous amounts of time for them to just question what im doing. about a year ago i sold my truck and got a little car and i havent been pulled overby him a single time........yet.

i personally havent been harassed by the police but I've had several friends who will get pulled over everytime they went through a town. a friend of mine got pulled over 27 times in 4 months by the same cop and for bogus reasons that never stood up in court. the cop got fired needless to say.

There are a few cop that want to be real ass holes but all the times i have been pulled over they have a been nice if you are nice to them they will be nice to you.
I would like to comment directly to "RAD's" comment about the Gifford Police force. I have experienced the same harrassment from Officer Sean Weary. Sometimes he will just pull me over to ask what I am up to. Other times he will make up stories of me street racing in the small town of Gifford doing 60 mph around 90 degree corners....like that could happen. He thinks he is a badass just because he has a cool, shiny thing with his name on it...

Yes i have been verbaly abused when they stopped me for suposably sqawlin tire and all i did was turn hard and no makes to proove that i did spin tires. and yelled at me while they were giving me a ticket. so i dont belive that police are far at all.

yea ive gotten shit from cops 3 times the last week, once i was just walking in the parking lot and that cop pulled up and stopped us, asked if we had weed, and told us to go stand by our vehicles while he talked to someone else, i was just waiting for him to try to search my vehicle. i would have told him get a warrant. but he found some drunk drivers to harrass.

i was never abused by police but i was harrased. i went into my sweetheart dance my senior year and i got a drinking ticket back in November. i walk into the school and hand them my ticket for the dance, i was only there for 2 minutes and talked to one person. then all the sudden a cop comes and grabs me and tells me to blow in her face cuz someone told her that they had reason to believe i had been drinking when i hadn't been at all. nobody even talked to the cop when i walked in because i saw her staqnding there and i hadn't talked to but 1 person since i had been there. she told me i wasn't the only one to get tested for alcohol. but then monday i talked to the principle about it and he said i was the only one to get a breathalizer. cops do get away with stuff they shouldn't no t all are bad but they are definately out there.

i got pulled over for not stopping for 5 thats right 5 seconds at a stop sign. well were i come from as long as the tires stop moving its considered a stop but apparently not for where he came from. The seat belt laws bullshit. they dont wear um either. shit if i was a cop id pull a cop over.

yes i think police are the real criminals who cant get in trouble for their actions because they are the police. Who can you call on the police? nobody, even if they did get in trouble they are just going to get suspended or something very minimum oppose to if i was to do it, ill be sitting in jail waiting for bond money.

i think cops are not fair and inconsiderate i was in a accident and i had to stand on the road for four hours as he took his sweet time doin paper work and he was a real prick

for the most part police officers i believe are fair. yes about the 20th of each month it seems like they stalk you and they technically do. their is a reason they do this though they have to meet a quota. i have been harrassed before, for my apperance and the "type" of person i am.

I have been harrased by a cop before he thought id been drinking so they searched my truck and found it but thats beside the point they pulled me over for looking supicious and my truck was to louds so thats how i got caught.

I have talked to cops that say they do do things off race sometimes witch i think is not fare at all i know just as many black people that are just as nice as white people. it is not fare to judge people by their race and cops do it all the time because they think they can.

Honestly, I don't trust cops. They can be so dirty and that really isn't fair. What if you needed help from them, could you trust them to fully do their job? Who knows. I have never felt harassed but I have been asked some questions that were very off the wall. This one time I was pulled over for speeding. It was just me and my best friend in the car. The officer asked for our IDs and my insurance. Before he even walked away he stopped looked in my VERY SMALL car and asked if their were any other passengers. I looked at him like he was crazy and just said "Ummm No.." then he left without saying a word.
