I think young people can be influnced with the wrong type of music.Rap is a good example. Some rap is only for adults.

I believe that music does influence lives of young people. Some are bad influences and some are good. Although, a song can't make you rob a bank, or even worse kill someone. It all depends on the individual that's listening to the music. No matter the age, skin color,or anything else it all depends on whether or not the person is strong or weak minded. Weak minded people are easily motivated and infuleced by anything. It is un jus to blame music for the actions of the weak minded.

I think music definetely gets inside our head. Alot of people listen to music therapeutically, so it definetely rubs off on us more than we know.

Well not just the lyrics but the music itself. And that’s true with any age, not just teenagers alone. Some songs deemed to be negative in our society you take out the lyrics and your left the instrumentation.

You can do this with any song and what you are left with is basically two different influences. High, up beats increase the nerves responses and in effect can raise heart beat and stimulate the whole body, an audio steroid. Music with lower tones or slower beats induces a sense of suppression, easing the nerves like a depressant. It’s true though when you look at music in this way its one of the strongest controlled substances in our culture. Therefore its fair to say add lyrics that are just as influential and you get an overdose waiting to happen.

I believe that music does make a huge influence on teenagers. Rap, R&B, Country, Rock all play a factor to teenagers they are wanting to live the life of that person even if the words are not true. You have some teenagers that are living a fantasy and some that realize that it's just a song.

To say that music in itself can make someone murder, rape, do drugs or anything negative for that matter is deep. One must be weak minded or insecure to some degree to even go that far. Although, I do believe our younger generation see and hear things in a more graffic manner than we did so I can see how music can influence their minds on that level if they're not surrounded by good role models. In some cases I do believe music really does influence teens behavior. But when this is a problem it seems to only happen to people who needed attention and wanted to fit in. But some music, like Larry Green said, only most rap is not for younger, more sensible listeners.

Yes it can. There are so many lost children out there that only hear whats in music. Some of them take it overboard and some take it in and think about the lyrics. There is some music I will not let my children listen to on the fact that the curse words and what the song is about. I mean they talk about sex, drugs, and killing people and all that I dont want my children to listen to that garbage. Some singers make it out to be okay to hit woman and that is not okay. I just think that some of the singers and writters are not thinking about the children that may listen to what they are singing about. Yes I think it is good to sing what is on your mind, but I think that some music should not be hurd by children.

apparently it does according to the news. like I said on an earlier post, I think people use lyrics as an excuse to be ignorant. 'nuff said.

yes it does
i think rap music has the most influence on teenagers. it has a lot of negitive words in it and then they get tranfered to all the younger kids and then they think it is ok to swear witch it is not. i think they get that the bad image is good and that they are mean and unstopable. Country is relaxing. rock is upbeat but not bad

Music does not and will not ifluence teenagers behavior. this goes back to the case in the early 1990's that music lost which is why we now have the explicit lyric sticker on albums. people refuse to take responsibility for their actions and then people and the person accused start pointing fingers to cause a distraction that will help them in the long run.

i think it does but also it has to do with how they grew up and how much home training they have or self respect. which come back to their up bringing.

people should listen to music for the instruments not the lyrics. listen to it for the melody, guitars and drums.

If you allow the lyrics of a song to influence your life/behavior then your mind is week. People need to take responsibility for their own actions.

I don't think anyone is influenced by music. It just depends on how you see the lyrics. Some may say "Oh i want to be like this singer so I will do what he says in his songs to do the things he does." Most people, however, don't honestly think like that. I like the songs I like because of the way the sound or something simple like that. No one really cares about the words in some songs. They may only like the song because of the artist who sings them

Yes lyrics in music influence teenages behavior because they think that it is cool what ever is said in music, so times they do it to get people to like them.
