Video games are quickly becoming the largest past time for many in the world today. More and more games are growing with the technology as well, adding real world dynamics to further immerse the players. Countless more even, allowing the creation of "Avatars" or alter egos of themselves. These virtual presentations of ones self help to create separation between real and fantasy. So what sends some to devote hours or even full days to playing nothing but games? When does it become an addiction? Is it truly an addiction at all? When is it no longer just a game?
Few have opened lawsuits blaming certain "online role playing games" linking their involvement in suicides of world youth and young adults. Are these games just as responsible to these cases as internet blogs and social networking sights? Is addiction to blame?

I think parents should only let their children play video games at certin times.Video games have become more than a game.People bet money on them, which can start a fight.Adults who play video games should be respondsible to not let them control their life,or end them.
I usually never play video games. My brother plays them all the time, though. I don't understand why or how some people can play games all day long. I understand it can be fun for while. But all the time? I just don't see it. However, I do not think it's an addiction, it's just being lazy.

Video games are addictive to people simple because they have nothing else to do. When you have nothing else to do you look for fun thats why people play video games to have fun.

I think that their are some video games that are additing out there for some people. My husband comes home from work sometimes and plays them until he bets a level. I think that all games that have to deal with the t.v. should be tomed lol. --janessa--
I think games could turn into and addiction, if you skip dinner to finish playing a game then you're addicted lol. The media has a strong influence on their audiences these days and target the younger generation almost everyday with the latest games that they so call everyone has to have.
i dont think video games are an issue unto you start playen them and forget you have responsabilites, if you play more video games then you do then going to work then you are a video game addict.

I play video games i dont think its an addiction.I play for fun and something competive to do. There will be nights me and my friends play till 2 in the moring but if I have to go to school or work i dont do that.
I do believe that online gaming has become an addiction in todays society. I have heard of people on tv that have died because they either commited suicide or they wear out their body by staring at the computer for over twenty hours at a time. I myself I can find online gaming addicting but I can walk away form the computer and I dont let stuff like this take over my life. I dont think that people should be suing the companies for what that the video games has caused them to be because they have the option to step a way from the game they are doing and decide for themselves.
